Hong Kong Trail

The Hong Kong Island Trail is the third long-distance hiking trail in Hong Kong. It was opened in 1985 and is divided into 8 sections with a total length of about 50 kilometers. The starting point of the Hong Kong Island Trail is the famous tourist spot, the Peak. The first section of the route will walk along the mountainside of Taiping Mountain (i.e. Tak Chee Mountain) and descend to Pok Fu Lam Reservoir; and the third section will first pass through Bei Lu Road, then detour around the mountainside of Kili Mountain and Tin Wan Mountain and then walk to Wan Chai Gorge; the next section bypasses the belly of Cameron Hill about 240 meters, and goes through Zhong Gorge to Huangniyong Gorge. The fifth section of the Hong Kong Island Trail and the initial section of the Wilson Trail overlap each other. This section of the road climbs the 400-meter-high Jardine's Mountain and Mount Beena, and then descends steeply to Gale Col. Go down the wide Baijiashan Road, and after viewing the more than 100-year-old Tai Tam Reservoir, you will arrive at Tai Tam Road; the seventh section of the path is relatively gentle, mainly walking along the aqueduct, going around the Stone Tablet Hill to reach Tai Tam Road. Land Bay; the last section of the Hong Kong Island Trail walks through the world-famous Longji, a world-famous hiking site, circles Pottinger Mountain, and then lightly descends to Tailangwan, the final destination. Some sections of the Hong Kong Island Trail are aqueducts and vehicle roads, which are relatively dull; but there are also many sections of mud trails under the shade of trees, which make people feel like they are in a virgin forest. There are many branches and exit points on each section of this trail, but there are signs along the way. The Hong Kong Island Trail is a unique long-distance hiking trail in the countryside next to the bustling city.
