かつての High-rise buildings
Original Text
It is located in the east side of Umeda Station. It is the place where the former high-rise building was located. It's now an area full of skyscrapers, but there is not only a stone monument but also an information board with a photo that shows the former state, and you can see the presence of that time. I think this was worth coming at that time.
It is a high-rise building built in the Meiji period. 9 It's a floor (39M), so you might have a panoramic view of Osaka city. It is said that Ryounkaku was named because it was so high that it surpassed the clouds. There is a stone monument and an explanation board at 4~5 minutes walk from Hankyu Umeda Station.
It is a stone monument near Osaka Institute of Technology. It seems that there was a 39-meter (9-story) observatory here in 1889. About 130 years later, a 300-meter (60-story) building (Abeno Harukas) has been built in Osaka. I was impressed with the progress of technology.
What I remember in the skyscrapers in Japan was the skyscrapers of the Kasumigaseki Building (36 floors above ground) with super. I went to see it immediately. I still remember the impression. In the same way, the Meiji era 々 where this Ryounkaku was built was more impressed. Buildings and towers are still being built in the world competing for heights, but how about it? I'm not the only one who has a question. But it must have been a difficult technology at that time.
There is a stone monument and an explanation plate that shows that it is the site of Ryounkaku. I think all the people who know the existence of a building called Ryounkaku for the first time when they see this plate. In that sense, it may be worth it, but I thought it didn't matter.
