It is a memorial monument that is quietly installed at the foot of Tsukishima Bridge. It seems to be a memorial monument for the victims of the fire during the Great Kanto Earthquake, but the details are unknown
There was a stone monument that was rusty in front of Tsukishima Bashi bridge and walking to the intersection from the pass to Kiyosumi Dori street. I can't read the characters well, but it's a memorial to those who jumped into the Sumida River to escape the fire from the Great Kanto Earthquake and died. It's now the peaceful Sumida River. Not only the earthquake, but also many people died in the fire caused by the air raid. Don't forget the sad history.
There was an old memorial tower at the "Tsukishima Bridge" over the Tsukishima River in Tsukishima. The Great Kanto Earthquake caused a lot of damage, but this memorial tower is informed that there were many people who were gone because of the great damage caused by the fire across the Sumida River on Tsukishima.
From the intersection of Katsudoki Station where Kiyosumi-dori and Harumi-dori intersect, go northeast on Kiyosumi-dori, and you will find this monument along the river on your right immediately after crossing the river. The monument had a mark that seemed to be broken and glued. I wondered if you could install an explanation board for the monument.
After eating monja, when I was taking a walk, I found it at the foot of Tsukishima Bridge next to Nishinakabashi. You can see that many victims were killed in the Great Kanto Earthquake. It's quite old and not well preserved.
