Dongduyuan Sceneic Area

Dongduyuan Scenic Area is in Zhangjiagang. In the ancient times, it can be an important port at the Yangtze River Estuary. This scenic area is related to Jianzhen Monk. Everything is based on the achievements of Jianzhen Monk in Buddhism and the process of Dongdu.

Dongduyuan is located at the intersection of National Road 204 and Provincial Road 338 in Tangqiao Town area. It is the sixth successful sailing place of Dongdu Japan in Tang Dynasty, known as Huang Sipu. "Shazhou County Zhi" states: "Tang Gaoshen Jianzhen Dongdu Japan after five consecutive failures, the sixth time in Huangsipukou sailed Dongdu successfully." In 1963, the 1200th anniversary committee of the death of Master Jianzhen set up a stone Jingdong building at Huangsipukou to commemorate, often Japanese friends come to visit. Dongdu Garden consists of Dongdu Memorial Hall, Dongdu Bridge, Stele Pavilion and Jingzhuang. The whole garden highlights the water scene, reflecting the pastoral scenery of Jiangnan water town. The main building in the garden, "Jianzhen Dongdu Memorial Hall", covers an area of 2,400 square meters and a construction area of 1070 square meters; The sham was written by Zhao Buchu, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and president of the Chinese Buddhist Association. A bronze statue of Master Jianzhen is placed in the hall of the main hall. There are seven murals in the hall, recording the sixth successful journey of Master Jianzhen in Dongdu Japan, and the introduction of Jianzhen's life and Dongdu route. There are 6 woodcut book screens hanging on the wall behind the main hall, which is an excerpt from "Dongzheng Chuan", which records the experience of Jianzhen's sixth Dongdu Japan. On both sides of the main hall, the stoneware, pottery, braised soil and other objects unearthed at the Neolithic ruins of Luyuan Xujiawan and Xuzhuang were displayed, and some materials, books, photos and souvenirs presented by Japanese friends were also displayed.

Dongduyuan, anciently known as "Huangsipu", was the sixth successful sailing place of Dongdu Japan in the Tang Dynasty by the high monk Jianzhen, located one kilometer west of Luyuan, Tangqiao Town, Zhangjiagang City. Dongduyuan covers an area of 95,300 square meters, which started construction in April 1994 and was completed at the end of December 96. After completion, it will become the largest memorial site for the Tang Dynasty high monk Jianzhen in the country.
