Barcelona from Above: The Perfect Blend of Beauty and Culture
The beauty of Barcelona from above!
When we decided to go and live/work in Barcelona last year for a month, we didn’t know what to expect. Luckily, we had a life changing experience. So much, we plan to relocate permanently to Spain sometime in the next 5 years.
The people are so friendly and welcoming. The food delicious. History, amazing. Architecture is some of the most unique and beautiful in the world. The pace of life just slows down and embraces you. We were in our happy place ❤️
Luckily, we will be in Seville next week for yet another month long adventure to Spain. We are so excited and can’t wait to see what the “south” brings.
Barcelona: A Tapestry of Modernist Marvels🇪🇸
Barcelona, a city pulsating with vibrant energy, seamlessly blends historic charm with modern allure. From Gaudi's whimsical masterpieces like Sagrada Familia to the lively atmosphere of La Rambla, each corner tells a story. While tourist crowds are inevitable, the city's rich cultural tapestry, delectable cuisine, and coastal beauty make Barcelona an irresistible destination for those seeking a perfect blend of tradition and contemporary excitement.#falltrip #mytravelhacks #freehotelstay #historicallandmarks #localguides #familytrip
Gaudi's masterpiece in his lifetime: Sagrada Familia
Sagrada Familia is the most famous tourist attraction in Barcelona, and the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world, designed by Gaudi.
He combined Gothic and Art Nouveau styles, and Gaudi spent basically 43 years of his life on the design and construction of the Sagrada Familia, where he was also buried in the basement. Some people questioned why the church took so long to build, Gaudi said: 'My client is not in a hurry.' The client here refers to 'God'. By the time Gaudi died in 1926, less than a quarter of the project was completed.
The current architect is already the fourth generation in charge. The Sagrada Familia has three facades - the 'Nativity Facade', the 'Passion Facade', and the 'Glory Facade', of which the 'Glory Facade' is still under construction; there are eighteen towers, representing the twelve apostles, the Virgin Mary, the four archangels in the Bible, and Jesus Christ. As of January 2023, eleven have been completed.
Art critic Reiner Zerbst once said when describing the Sagrada Familia: 'There may not be any similar church buildings in the entire history of art', Paul Goldberger described it as: 'the most extraordinary personal interpretation since Gothic architecture'.
cassia_serenity_valentine Nothing is Art if it doesn’t come from Nature
Sagrada Familia is one of the most iconic art piece designed by Antoni Gaudi.
It is the largest unfinished Catholic Church in the world.
To date, the church still under construction and it would take many years to complete.
Maybe many people could not wait for the church to be built on that day.
I hope I got a chance to revisit this magical place again when it is fully built.

Park Güell Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Another Gaudi attraction in Barcelona 🇪🇸!!!!!
#timetotravel
Magnificent architecture with mosaic tiles in a massive park. Gaudi is definitely way ahead of his time!!!
Definitely be prepared you will have a long walk because the individual attractions are quite far apart from each other. It is advised to bring plenty of water and an umbrella if you can because it is not shaded.
Note: remember to get tickets in advance because the attraction is really busy and tickets do get sold out!!

An excellent and fun morning at Park Güell
Park Güell is a private park located in Barcelona near La said and El Coll neighborhoods. If you are staying in Barceloneta or Barcelona Center, I will suggest you to get the metro L3 and get off and the Lesseps or Vallarta stops, which is 20 mins walking to the Park. Unfortunately, you do have to pay do get in the park. The cost of the ticket is 10 euro and it will cost extra to visit Gaudi house located in the park. I have researched a little bit and I saw that there are some ways to get into the park for FREE, however, since I was there for short time and it was a last minute plan I didn’t have time to sign up for a free entrance! If you’re curious to know how to get there please contact me!
TIPS: wear comfortable shoes, bring some cash(there are many vendors selling cute items), and carry a hat!

Gaudi’s Park Guell
Park Guell is a large park outside of Barcelona displaying a wide array of Antoni Gaudi’s work. I never found much appeal when seeing Gaudi’s art pieces and buildings in photographs, but only after seeing the works in their original and intended settings did I understand you must “experience” Gaudi’s works to appreciate them. Park Guell was an inspirational place to walk around and admire the beautiful mosiacs, buildings, and structures. It is a bit far from Barcelona city centre, but a few different bus lines can get you there, and the trip is well worth it!

Park Güell, Barcelona Summary
Getting There - Requires walking up a steep hill or alternatively taking the bus. The nearest metros are both a 15 min walk away and the walk is mostly up hill.
Description - The park is very beautiful and the views of the city are stunning. It is the most efficient and cheapest way to take in Gaudí architecture in the city of Barcelona. Other Gaudí experiences are quite expensive to enter. This park has many Gaudí designed buildings to explore so it's certainly more value for money than any other attraction in the city. The best times to visit are on sunny days, either in the morning or afternoon when it's a bit cooler since you'll be doing a lot of walking uphill however it's important to note that the area directly around the park isn't the best for getting food/drink afterwards so plan to travel somewhere else once you're done. I would estimate that 2hrs is enough time to see the park, some photo opportunities are more crowded than others so expect to queue for the best shots, especially if there are tour groups at the time you're visiting.

Casa Batlló Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Visit the incredible Casa Batllo in Barcelona
This winter, I had the privilege of exploring Casa Batlló in Barcelona, and it left an indelible mark on my travel memories. The chilly air outside only heightened the warmth of the experience within those architecturally enchanting walls. Gazing at the intricacies of Gaudí's design while surrounded by the cozy, festive atmosphere of Barcelona in winter created a truly magical blend. From the captivating play of light on the mosaic tiles to the timeless elegance of each room, my visit to Casa Batlló was a winter journey filled with awe and appreciation for the artistry that defines this iconic landmark.
Next year, I would love to visit budapest.

Passing through Barcelona, sharing the street scenery of Barcelona | Spain.
Barcelona is located in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea. It is the second largest city in Spain, the capital of the Catalonia Autonomous Community, and the capital of the province of Barcelona (belonging to the Catalonia Autonomous Community). The Catalan Autonomous Community Parliament, administrative agencies, and high court are all located here.
The total area of the city is 101.9 square kilometers, and the population of the urban area was about 1.61 million in 2012. Its main ethnic group is the Catalan people. [1]
Barcelona became the capital of Catalonia and the Kingdom of Aragon in 1137, and in the early 15th century, Barcelona and its territories were incorporated into Spain.

La Pedrera – Casa Milà Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
La Pedrera-Casa Milà 🇪🇸
#familytrip
My visit to La Pedrera, or Casa Milà, in Barcelona was a spellbinding journey through the genius of Antoni Gaudí. Located on the iconic Passeig de Gràcia, this architectural masterpiece stands as a testament to Gaudí's avant-garde vision.
The undulating stone facade of La Pedrera is a mesmerizing dance of curves and unconventional shapes, making it a hallmark of Modernisme. Exploring the interior, I was captivated by the fluidity of design, with every corner revealing Gaudí's meticulous attention to detail. The rooftop, adorned with surreal chimneys and whimsical sculptures, offered panoramic views of Barcelona, making it a highlight of the visit.
The Espai Gaudí exhibition within the building provided invaluable insights into the architect's life and creative process. The courtyards and the iconic ironwork were additional features that showcased Gaudí's nature-inspired design philosophy.
Situated in the Eixample district, La Pedrera's central location made it a gateway to Barcelona's cultural treasures. The nearby Casa Batlló, also designed by Gaudí, and the high-end boutiques on Passeig de Gràcia added to the allure of the neighborhood.
In conclusion, La Pedrera is not merely a building; it's a symphony of art and architecture that immerses visitors in Gaudí's revolutionary world. A visit here is an essential odyssey for anyone captivated by Barcelona's artistic and cultural heritage. #barcelona #spain #vacation
Casa Mila — a must visit attraction in Barcelona 🏠🏛️
#timetotravel
Casa Mila is absolutely phenomenal, Guadi slays!!!!
The museum offers free audio guide (available in many different languages) to tourists visiting Casa Mila, so that visitors can visit at their own pace, and at the same time, learn from the history and story behind the architecture.
I personally really love the interactive element of Casa Mila as it gives me a lasting memory of Casa Mila, e.g. the massive sculptures on the roof of Casa Mila (pic 1 and 5) are soldiers/ warriors that used to “protect” the family staying at Casa Mila. i’m
I wasn’t planning to visit so I did not book tickets ahead. Although I managed to get tickets at the door, do not learn from me because you have to queue and it costs €3 more purchasing at the ticket office 🙄

Barcelona Stadion Camp Nou
I went for the Player experience tour and loved every minute of it. Our guide (sadly I don't remember her name) was very kind and she explain everything in English and Spanish. She was also so kind and let us to take time to see everything and take pictures.
The only thing I would recommend to Barca staff is to change the meeting point on ticket - it was on the other side where it was said on ticket.
But overall very kind staff at stadium and very beautiful expirience. Would recommend everyone who like Barca to go on Players expirience tour! Thank you

The largest Europe Stadium - Camp Nou
📍As the largest stadium in Europe, Camp Nou is also the home of La Liga giants Barcelona. Barcelona is located in the northeastern part of the Iberian Peninsula, on the edge of the Mediterranean, and is the second-largest city in Spain. Barcelona is known as the "Pearl of the Iberian Peninsula" with a pleasant climate, beautiful scenery, and full of historical sites. It is the most famous tourist attraction in Spain.
🏆When I walked through the tunnel, I felt that I was about to come to the arena to play. It seemed as if there was an exciting shout in my ears, seeing Messi running on the stadium and then scoring a goal.
🛍Unfortunately, this trip was during the offseason and I did not watch the game, but in the end, you can buy some of your favorite figures in the souvenir shop.
