KKrysanne: Hotel Bergidyll was a delightful experience. Stayed for 5 nights for a solo snowboard trip as a first timer in Andermatt The main service is phenomenal. From the moment you arrived you are assisted to your room. Room services and cleaning is exceptional. Shampoo bottle in my room was empty so it was replaced right away and the housekeeper kept apologising with a smile. Breakfast service You’re greeted with a smile straight away by the Blonde latina wait staff (forgot her name). She will ask for your coffee preference. Then the next day I have a sore throat probably from skiing and catching a cold, once she heard my voice she asked me if I was okay and offered to make me a ginger and honey tea which blew my mind as this is a well above service. Such empathy and care towards guest that you rarely see nowadays in any hospitality accommodation, even the expensive 5 star hotels. Dinner I ordered the carbonara and soup of the day. Pasta was beautifully cooked and made authentic with the egg, guanciale and cheese. Room I would say room is adequate enough for 1-2 person. Just missing a TV. But other than that, you get everything you need in a hotel amenity Location Great spot I would say. 5 minutes walk from Andermatt train station and close walking distance to the main Gûtsch Gondola express Hotel lobby has a cozy Swiss Chalet vibe that you can sit down, drink some coffee or beer. Overall I would say what made the stay exceptional is the above and beyond hospitality from the front staff and the location as well makes it convenient. Would definitely come back again

Switzerland is more than just watches and banks. This small country nestled in the Alps is home to some of Europe's most spectacular scenery—snow-capped mountains, lakes, charming towns, and scenic trains. Every view is postcard-worthy. 🏔️ Alpine snow that never melts The Jungfrau is the "Top of Europe." Take the cogwheel train through a tunnel up to 3,454 meters, watching the landscape transform from green meadows to white glaciers. The Matterhorn, shaped like a pyramid and reflected in the Riffelsee at its base, offers the most classic postcard view in Switzerland. 🏞️ Lakes as blue as gemstones Lake Thun, Lake Lucerne, and Lake Geneva feature an unreal, turquoise-blue water. Lakeside towns are draped in flowers, cruise boats glide slowly by, and the reflection of snow-capped mountains on the water looks like a living painting. 🚂 Train travel is a scenic experience in itself The Glacier Express, known as the "world's slowest express train," travels for 8 hours across 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels, taking you from snow-capped peaks to lush meadows. The GoldenPass Line offers stunning lake and mountain views through windows so large they feel like panoramic paintings—no need for photos, just take it all in with your own eyes. 🏘️ Fairy-tale towns beneath snow-capped peaks Zermatt is a car-free mountain town where wooden balconies are overflowing with geraniums and the Matterhorn looms overhead. In Grindelwald, wooden chalets are scattered across green meadows, set against the backdrop of the permanently snow-capped Wetterhorn. 🍫 Deliciously Swiss Enjoy bubbling cheese fondue with bread, Zurich-style veal with Rösti, and Lindt and Sprüngli chocolates that will melt your heart. In Switzerland, the scenery isn't just a tourist attraction—it's everyday life. ✨ View the full itinerary via the product card below

A full-day scenic train journey across the Alps. 🏔️🚆 While the Bernina Express offers a close-up look at the mountains, the Glacier Express is another must-experience route. This panoramic train connects Zermatt to St. Moritz, with a travel time of about 8 hours. 🌿 Covering approximately 291 km, the train crosses 291 bridges and passes through 91 tunnels. The scenery constantly evolves, showcasing everything from mountain villages and deep valleys to rivers and rugged Alpine terrain. 🏔️❄️ A particularly stunning segment is the Oberalp Pass, the highest point of the route at 2,033 meters. Another highlight is the Rhine Gorge—often called the "Swiss Grand Canyon"—famed for its sheer white cliffs and the turquoise waters of the Rhine flowing below. 💙 The journey also crosses the Landwasser Viaduct, a 65-meter-high stone bridge spanning a deep valley, before heading into the Engadin region toward its final destination, St. Moritz. What I love most is that the beauty isn't confined to just one spot; it continuously unfolds, making it feel like you're watching a long-form nature documentary through your window. 🎞️🚆 📍 Glacier Express 🇨🇭 Zermatt → St. Moritz ⏱️ Approx. 8 hours 📏 291 km 🌉 291 bridges 🚇 91 tunnels 🏔️ Highest point: Oberalp Pass (2,033 m) 2026 Info: The Summer 2026 schedule runs from May 2 to October 10. There is an annual service break from October 11 to December 4, 2026. Seat reservations are mandatory for the Glacier Express.

When the fresh February snow dresses the Alpine peaks in flawless silver, Andermatt, a snowy mountain town nestled in the heart of Switzerland, quietly basks in the warm festive spirit blending East and West. Red lanterns reflect the snowlight, where the joy of the Spring Festival meets the tranquility of the Swiss winter, painting a unique Alpine New Year scene. Located in the Ursern Valley, Andermatt is not only the junction of eight ski runs but also one of Switzerland’s most enchanting high mountain valleys. Even Goethe once praised, “Of all the places I have visited, this one undoubtedly feels the most intimate and interesting.” In winter, it transforms into one of Switzerland’s safest and most enjoyable snow sports centers. From the challenging steep slopes of Gemsstock to the gentle family-friendly runs of Nätschen and Winterhorn, everyone can find their own snowy delight. The Schöllenen Gorge is a magnificent and legendary canyon in the St. Gotthard region. Over two hundred years ago, French and Russian troops fought fiercely here, and the Suvorov Monument still stands on the cliff, quietly telling the story of history. Locals say the Devil’s Bridge in the gorge was built by villagers outsmarting the devil, adding a mysterious charm. Though winter is not ideal for hiking, the view of snow-covered cliffs and the rushing Reuss River remains breathtaking. Even in winter, the St. Gotthard Pass remains a legendary route connecting north and south. If you dare to take on the challenge, you can follow the historically famous Tremola section—the longest historic road in Switzerland—and experience the thrilling and magnificent winding path through snowy ridges. Crossing the Schöllenen Gorge and Ursern Valley up to the high pass is a true immersion in the Alpine spirit. Spend a warm Spring Festival in the heart of the Alps at Sonne Swiss Quality Hotel, your ideal place to stay. ✨ This is not just an ordinary journey; it’s a moving feast, a heartfelt tribute to the art of slow living. In a world obsessed with speed, the Glacier Express invites you to embrace a leisurely pace of 30 kilometers per hour, immersing yourself in the heart of the Alps to read a "slow epic" written by ice, rocks, and time. Imagine yourself seated in a panoramic carriage, with a massive curved glass roof overhead. The Alps unfold before you like an endless IMAX screen, presenting its grandeur without reservation. Outside the window, the scenery doesn’t blur past; instead, it glides by with precision and clarity, like a visual symphony in slow motion. The train departs from the alpine towns of St. Moritz or Zermatt, resembling a silver needle tracing Switzerland’s most magnificent map. It takes you across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels, and over the Oberalp Pass at an altitude of 2,033 meters. This is not a conquest but a reverent pilgrimage. You’ll soar over the breathtaking Landwasser Gorge, with emerald torrents rushing below; you’ll brush past ancient glacial remnants, frozen echoes of Earth’s heartbeat; you’ll pass through fairytale-like pine forests and ochre-colored mountain villages, where cows adorned with bells occasionally lift their heads to bless the train with gentle gazes. The most awe-inspiring moment comes when, after a turn, majestic peaks like the Matterhorn suddenly burst into view, their snow-capped summits shimmering in the sunlight—a soul-stirring sight. Inside the carriage, elegance reigns supreme. You sit in a spacious, comfortable high-back seat, perhaps with a glass of rich Swiss wine or a fragrant cup of coffee at hand. Sunlight streams through the glass roof, warming the cabin. The soothing rhythm of wheels on tracks mingles with the hushed exclamations of fellow passengers. At lunchtime, you can savor a three-course meal crafted from local ingredients, allowing your taste buds to embark on their own Alpine journey. This train teaches us the philosophy of "slow." In a life accelerated into a blur, the Glacier Express stretches time, giving you the chance to savor every subtle change in the scenery—the dance of light and shadow on mountain ridges, the gathering and dispersing of clouds among snowy peaks. It transforms you into an observer, a child enchanted by nature’s wonders. Best Travel Seasons: All year round, each season offers its unique charm. Summer’s lush landscapes, autumn’s vibrant foliage, and winter’s pristine white wonderland are all equally captivating. Practical Tips: Be sure to book your seat in advance, especially the popular panoramic seats. Don’t forget sunglasses, as the high-altitude sunlight streaming through the glass can be particularly intense. So, dear traveler, reserve this 7.5-hour journey for the most leisurely day of your life. Step aboard this train that transcends time. Here, the most beautiful moments aren’t at the destination but in every second flowing past the window, in the eternal story the Alps whisper to you with their millennia of silence. The Glacier Express awaits to unfold this profound poetic tale of nature and the soul.

Switzerland🇨🇭, this Alpine nation at the heart of Europe, captivates global travelers with its breathtaking natural landscapes, refined urban charm, and world-renowned watch and chocolate industries. Whether you're a first-time visitor to Switzerland or a seasoned traveler looking to explore in depth, this comprehensive guide will provide practical information—from visa preparation to itinerary planning, transportation options to culinary experiences—to help you create an unforgettable Swiss journey. 1️⃣ Pre-Trip Preparation: Visa, Currency & Best Travel Times Visa & Entry Requirements: Switzerland is part of the Schengen Zone. Chinese citizens need to apply for a Schengen visa in advance, ideally at least two months before departure to ensure smooth processing. Travelers from the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other Western European countries can enter visa-free with a valid passport, while others must apply for a visa. 2️⃣ Currency & Payments: The Swiss Franc (CHF) is the local currency. While most places accept credit cards (mainly Visa/MasterCard), it's advisable to carry some cash, especially in mountain villages and rural areas. Switzerland has a high cost of living: a meal at a casual restaurant costs around 20-40 CHF, and coffee is 4-6 CHF. Best Travel Seasons: Switzerland is beautiful year-round, but each season offers unique experiences: · Summer (June–August): Temperatures of 18-27°C, ideal for hiking and lake cruises; peak tourist season. · Winter (December–February): Temperatures of -1 to 5°C; ski resorts open, with festive Christmas markets. · Spring/Fall (April–May/September–October): Temperatures of 8-12°C; fewer crowds, great value, perfect for city sightseeing. 3️⃣ Essential Items: · Waterproof, breathable hiking boots and lightweight walking shoes (for outdoor activities). · Sunscreen (SPF50+), sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat (high UV exposure in the mountains). · Power adapter (Switzerland uses Type J, with three round pins). · Windproof jacket and warm layers (mountain weather is unpredictable; even in summer, peaks can be cold). 4️⃣ Transportation Guide: Efficient Ways to Explore Swiss Travel Pass: The most economical and convenient option, offering unlimited travel on trains, buses, boats, and scenic routes, plus free entry to 500+ museums and attractions. An 8-day continuous pass (2nd class) costs ~389 CHF, saving significantly compared to single tickets. 5️⃣ Iconic Scenic Train Experiences: · Glacier Express: Dubbed the "world's slowest express," this 8-hour journey from Zermatt to St. Moritz crosses 291 bridges and 91 tunnels. Pass holders pay an additional 39-49 CHF reservation fee. · GoldenPass Line: Connects Montreux, Interlaken, and Lucerne with stunning lake and mountain views. Free with the pass. City Transport🚗: Zurich, Geneva, and other major cities have excellent tram and bus systems. Many hotels provide free city transport cards. Swiss trains are famously punctual, but stops are brief (usually 2-3 minutes)—be ready to disembark. Driving Tips: A highway vignette (40 CHF) is required and must be displayed on the windshield. Note that mountain roads are narrow and winding; snow chains may be needed in winter, and cars are banned in eco-towns like Zermatt. 6️⃣ Must-See Attractions: Switzerland's Highlights Natural Wonders & Outdoor Adventures: · Jungfraujoch: The "Top of Europe" at 3,454m, reachable by train to Europe's highest station. Enjoy views of the Aletsch Glacier, visit the Ice Palace and Sphinx Observatory. Swiss Travel Pass offers 25% off. · Matterhorn: Switzerland's iconic pyramid-shaped peak. Best views from Zermatt, accessible via the Gornergrat Railway (from 88 CHF) or Glacier Paradise cable car (from 95 CHF). A world-class ski destination in winter; in summer, hike the famous 5-Seenweg (Five Lakes Trail). · Mount Pilatus: A legendary peak near Lucerne. Try the "Golden Round Trip"—boat on Lake Lucerne, then ascend via the world's steepest cogwheel railway (48° incline), descending by panoramic gondola. Don’t miss the "Dragon Path" hike and cliff walk. · Interlaken: An outdoor sports hub between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, gateway to the Jungfrau. Try paragliding (~170 CHF), bungee jumping, or canyon adventures. Nearby Grindelwald offers dreamy slopes and the First Cliff Walk. · Lavaux Vineyards: A UNESCO World Heritage site stretching 30km along Lake Geneva, with 800+ hectares of vineyards dating to the 12th century. Join wine tours to taste Switzerland’s famous Chasselas white wine. 🧡 Switzerland is a country worth exploring repeatedly—whether for the Alps' grandeur, serene lakes, or refined urban culture. May this guide help you plan the perfect Swiss adventure, creating cherished memories in this "garden of the world"!

Dolomites' Twin Wonders: The Fairyland of the Blade and Sawtooth Mountains In the Dolomites, nestled at the southern foot of the Alps, lie two breathtaking landscapes imbued with natural beauty: the Secede and Geusker Mountains. Their jagged rock formations and shifting colors of light and shadow bring the image of a "fairyland on earth" to life. The Secede Mountains, aptly named, resemble their shape. Rising over 2,500 meters, their peaks appear as if cleaved by a giant axe. The exposed grayish-white dolostones stretch along the ridge, forming a sharp "blade" outline. From the summit observation deck, the morning mist shrouds the mountain in a soft veil. As the sun rises, the rocks are tinted in warm orange or golden red. Sunlight penetrates the clouds, spilling down into the valley, and the forests and lakes below, such as the tributaries of Lake Garda, shimmer, as if all the colors of the world are focused. The Geusker Mountains are renowned for their densely packed "sawtooth" peaks. These tightly packed peaks resemble giant sawtooth formations crafted by nature, piercing the blue sky. Rich in minerals, the rocks here take on different hues depending on the weather: pristine gray-white on sunny days, pale blue on overcast days, and gilded with pink and purple at sunset. Every step along the mountain trails feels like stepping into a meticulously painted landscape. Both peaks are not only visually stunning but also brimming with vibrant life. In summer, the mountains are covered in purple gentian and yellow broom, while cattle and sheep leisurely roam the meadows. In winter, snow blankets the rocks, transforming the "blade" and "sawtooth" into icy sculptures, a haven for skiers and hikers. No need to search for angles; any casual snap creates a breathtaking, unedited masterpiece. It's no wonder these peaks are known as the "beauty of the Alps."
