Sopot, located on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Poland, between Gdańsk and Gdynia, forms the famous "Trójmiasto" (Tri-City) with these two cities. With a permanent population of approximately 30,000, it is one of Poland's smaller but highly distinctive seaside resort cities, often referred to as the "Monte Carlo of the Baltic." Historically, Sopot was initially just a fishing village. During the Prussian rule of the 19th century, it gradually developed into a renowned European spa and seaside resort. After World War II, Sopot returned to Polish control and gradually transformed into a popular tourist, cultural, and leisure city. Today, Sopot's most iconic landmark is the Sopot pier (Molo w Sopocie), which extends into the sea and is approximately 511 meters long, making it one of the longest wooden piers over the sea in Europe. In addition, the uniquely shaped Krzywy Domek, known for its exaggerated curves, is hailed as one of the most creative commercial buildings in the world and has become a symbol of Sopot's modern urban image.
