Chiang Mai Shopping Tour Also known as the Great Buddha Pagoda Temple, which was built in 1411, is the largest temple in the ancient city of Chiang Mai. It is the same status as the Paxin Temple. It consists of the main hall, the small Buddha Hall and the monk's house. The Great Buddha Pagoda was destroyed in the earthquake of 1545. Now we can see the flat top. The earthquake disaster damaged the original spire. It is a pity that now we are looking at the full sense of historical vicissitudes. The Great Buddha Pagoda has only one side which can be ascended by a ladder. The other three sides are smooth ramps and can't be entered. Naturally, we tourists can't enter the pagoda only when there are important matters. Generally speaking, it requires long-sleeved pants, neat clothes, and shoes to be taken off. This is a respect for Buddha. There is a very tall tree near the Great Buddha Pagoda. It's very straight. It's really great. I like this tree very much. I don't know why, but I just look at it. Ticket fee: Baht, if you wear the wrong clothes, you can borrow the right clothes free of charge at the door, don't worry. Now we can visit the temple in front of the Great Buddha Pagoda. It's really super beautiful. That's why the Golden Wall is so brilliant. Go inside with pious heart and pray for your wishes. Sincerity is the soul. Although women are not allowed to enter the temple, it is amazing just to look at the appearance. We need to respect the customs of different countries and treat everything civilized.

Pros1. Free parking but on the road side2. Entry ticket is about 40-50 THB3. The temple complex is big4. The older temple is similar to those in Ayutthaya. It might be as high as a 10 story building.5. There is a man only temple. The temple is quite intricate with details.6. Clean toilets7. Located inside the old city in Chiang Mai.Considerations1. Please wear full length clothes2. Might visit in the evening to avoid the Sun. Also have dinner at any nearby restaurant, there are several.

Wat Chedi Luang, a revered temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand, captivates with its ancient grandeur. The towering pagoda, partially ruined by time, exudes a mystical aura. Intricate sculptures and stone elephants adorn the temple grounds, reflecting Lanna architecture's elegance. Visiting Wat Chedi Luang is a spiritual and historical odyssey, offering a glimpse into Thailand's rich heritage.

First time been to Wat Chedi Luang and is in the center of the ancient city. It is the tallest temple in the ancient city. The sacred pillar tower that was said to protect the city has been dilapidated, and the mottled stone statues on it tell the vicissitudes of time.

My favourite temple to visit in Chiang Mai. Chill vibe. Not as busy and commercial as the other temples. Really huge ground to spend some quiet moment walking and sitting around. Very beautiful 600 years old temple.Entrance fees 50 baht is well worth it.

One of Chiang Mai’s most important temples is the Wat Chedi Luang located in the ancient walled part of the city. The Wat Chedi Luang, also known as the Jedi Luang and “The temple of the Great Stupa” initially consisted of two more temples named Wat Ho Tham and Wat Sukmin, that were all merged into one.
