Yan'an 48 Martyrs' Cemetery Review

The "Four and Eight" Martyrs' Cemetery is located in Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province, in memory of the martyrs killed in the plane crash on April 8, 1946. The "48" martyrs' cemetery is a three-story martyr's tomb, buried Wang Ruofei, Qin Bangxian, Deng Fa, Ye Ting, Huang Qisheng, Li Shaohua, Li Xiuwen, Ye Yangmei, Ye Ajiu, Zhao Dengjun, Wei Wanji, Gao Qiong, Huang Xiaozhuang and other 13 "48" martyrs, and also buried Guan Xiangying, Zhang Hao, Yang Sen, Zhang Side and other famous revolutionary martyrs.

On April 8, 1946, the representatives of the CPC who participated in the Chongqing National Republic of China Wang Ruofei and Qin Bangxian flew back to Yan'an from Chongqing by American transport plane. Due to the clouds and mist, the plane lost its way and accidentally crashed into Heicha Mountain in Xixing County, Shanxi. All 17 people, including four US crew members, were killed. History said that the "four? eight" martyrs. The "four? eight" air disaster shocked China and foreign countries, and mourning activities were launched nationwide. The martyrs' cemetery was built to commemorate it.

The mood of the four or eight martyrs' cemetery is heavy. Wang Ruofei, Qin Bangxian and General Ye Ting were killed by the plane. This cemetery is on the north side of Wangjiaping, the former headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, with a pillow on the cool mountain and facing the Yanhe River. There are memorial halls, memorial towers, memorial pavilions, showrooms, mausoleums, etc. The cemetery of the 48 martyrs buried the martyrs who died during Yan'an, most of them 13 martyrs who died in the plane crash (hit on the black tea mountain in Shanxi) on April 8, 1946, including the Ye Ting family of five.
