High-speed rail direct! The thousand-year-old ancient town hanging on the waterfall made me cry!
I have been watching the waterfall in the mountains for a long time, always fantasizing about being able to live in a place surrounded by mountains and rivers, as if it is a real paradise ^_^
In front of us in China, there is indeed such a place that can realize this wish. This is an ancient and pleasant border town that has experienced a thousand years of history, surrounded by water and the waterfall runs through the entire town.
When night falls, the scattered lights are like a galaxy in the world, and the dreamy waterfall is even more colorful.
This land once became famous because of a movie by famous director Xie Jin, and was renamed for this reason. This place is Furong Town in Xiangxi, Hunan, a severely underestimated niche attraction.
Take advantage of the good season of autumn, why not pack up and set off!
If you choose high-speed rail , you can get off at the "Furong Town" high-speed rail station, and then take a taxi for a few minutes to arrive, or drive to the "Furong Town Tourist Service Center" or "Furong Town Scenic Area Tianze Parking Lot" (the latter requires a ticket purchase first).
The ticket price is 108 yuan/person, valid for 3 days, unlimited entry and exit. The recommended tour route is the entrance of the scenic spot ➡️ Baitang ➡️ Xizhou Copper Column ➡️ Tuwang Bridge ➡️ Tingtao Road Ancient Street ➡️ Guanpu Terrace Yinan Theater ➡️ Huashao Camping Base ➡️ Chushu Tongjin ➡️ Furong Town Big Waterfall ➡️ Viewing Gallery Bridge ➡️ City Gate Wharf ➡️ Wuli Stone Street ("Furong Town" movie location, Liu Xiaoqing's tofu shop)
The special performance time is 9:00-22:00, the scenic spot continuously performs "Flowers Bloom and Furong·Bisca's Carnival", allowing you to appreciate the charm of the Tujia culture. The viewing platform at night is a night view not to be missed. The lights start at 19:30, and you can check in with the same pose as Yang Mi.
In terms of accommodation, the price of homestays in the peak season is slightly expensive, and the price of waterfall-viewing rooms is above 350 yuan; accommodation outside the scenic area is more affordable, and parking is also more convenient.
In terms of food, there are all kinds of special Xiangxi pickles, Liu Xiaoqing's tofu, stir-fried bamboo shoots, hot and sour noodles, rice wine, osmanthus fish, bacon, etc.
In addition, the directly operated Tufeng Miaoyun Boutique Shop in the scenic area (opposite the Furong Grand View at the entrance of the scenic area) provides special products with Xiangxi style, such as secret T-shirts, sunny and rainy umbrellas, silverware, dolls, etc.

Day view at Furong Town☀️
📍Getting to Furong Town - Go to Zhangjiajie bus station and buy a direct bus ticket for 40¥, they provided us a small van service which was more convenient! 🚐
After getting there, enjoy the beautiful views from one of the rooftops, explore the narrows streets and have at least one night to see the stunning town full of lights, it’s even more stunning!🌟

Furongzhen Jingqu-Wang Cungu Street Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Furongzhen
Getting to Furongzhen is easy enough though requires several steps if you don't have your own cae. Coming from Zhangjiajie we took a Didi, the high speed rail and then a taxi to the town. You then have to do the reverse to get back. We actually had to have someone call us a taxi from the scenic area since they aren't readily available and there aren't Didi's there.
The attraction itself is pretty great. There are a few hiking trails and the one under the waterfall is pretty cool. We also hiked along the cliffs for a great view of the town and waterfall. There are countless restaurants and shops so you could probably spend the whole day there if you we're into that sort of thing, though be ready to pay for it!
Foreigners need there passports to enter but it's easy enough otherwise. We have an 8 month old and brought our striller which was a mistake since there are lots and lots of stairs. If you have a little one I'd suggest bring some kind of baby carrier.
Overall, a worthwhile daytrip from Zhangjiajie.#furongzhen #daytrip
this town is unreal, like I'm in Chinese movie scene date back im 2000 years ago. i had really great time here everyone is so friendly even they can't speak English. I travel alone from Thailand i feel like Thailand 10-20 years ago. you should come and check it out Furongzhen ancient town.

Furongzhen Night Scenery
This place probably has the prettiest night scenery I have ever seen, you can find many cheap hotel for around 100 Yuan per night. I visited it after Zhangjiajie and it's actually just 30 minutes by high speed train from Zhangjiajie, so it's a good idea to visit both places in one trip if you go to Hunan province. I think this is one of those places that you should definitively visit if you come to China.

A cultural town with a history of over two thousand years, standing atop a waterfall – Furong Town
You must visit Furong Town at least once~ Here's a guide.
Furong Town, originally named Wang Village, is an ancient town with a history spanning over two thousand years. It is also known as the 'thousand-year-old town hanging over the waterfall' due to the magnificent waterfall that flows through it. It was named after the movie 'Furong Town'.
Transportation: 1. There are direct buses from Zhangjiajie and also from Fenghuang Ancient City.
2. Take the high-speed train🚄 to Furong Town Station. There are buses from the train station to Furong Town, or you can choose to take a taxi for 10 yuan, which will get you to the entrance of the scenic area in just a few minutes.
Ticket price: 108 RMB per person (booking a hotel may offer a discount).
Travel tips: 1. Start from the Furong Town dock, walk along the cliff plank road, and visit the covered bridge, waterfall, You River, Tiaoyan, Tuwang Bridge, Xizhou Tusi Square to watch performances, and go to the Chastity Arch (next to it is Liu Xiaoqing's mung bean tofu), then continue down the road passing through the stone slab street, with many restaurants along the way. The path involves steps up and down the mountain, so flat shoes are recommended.
2. Liu Xiaoqing's mung bean tofu: Located next to the Chastity Arch, it's a must-try when visiting Furong Town.
3. Photo spots: The Tuwang Palace Eight Departments Hall is recommended. Roof photos and waterfall photos at this spot are enough, with a charge of 10 yuan per photo. Additionally, the stone slab road with ancient architecture from Tuwang Palace to Tuwang Bridge is recommended, as well as the stone slab street, which has a better night view and many clothing rental shops and travel photography services.
Accommodation: Furong Town looks completely different during the day and at night. It is recommended to stay for one night, and choose a hotel with a good view of the waterfall.
Cuisine: Liu Xiaoqing's mung bean tofu with a salty flavor, sweet Artemisia rice cake, salty Artemisia rice cake, Furong Town beef rice noodles, mixed mung bean tofu, etc.

High-speed rail direct to Hunan's seriously underestimated niche scenic spots
High-speed rail direct to Hunan's seriously underestimated niche scenic spots
Furong Town, originally named 'Wang Village', became famous because of the movie 'Furong Town'. It is a thousand-year-old ancient town with a long history
Furong Town is surrounded by water on three sides. At night, the lights of the ancient town and the colorful waterfalls make people feel like they are in a dream world of the movie
There are many homestays where you can directly see the waterfall, but the sound of the waterfall is very loud, and it's a bit noisy to sleep at night. The whole Furong Town is surrounded by water.
In addition to the river that runs through the ancient town, it eventually falls from the cliff to form a spectacular waterfall landscape. Under the waterfall of Furong Town, there is a naturally formed cave that can accommodate thousands of people at the same time
On August 22, Qixi Festival, Furong Town will hold a beautiful waterfall landscape stage ceremony, strongly recommend everyone to come.

Twelve City Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Living above the waterfall ‖ Wonderful!
Finding a larger hotel among a bunch of famous ones is really not easy, we came by high-speed train and they offer a pick-up service, the guy who picked us up was also very enthusiastic, which is very much worth mentioning.
The hotel's decoration is very modern, the rooms are equipped with full voice control which is very convenient, and there's also a projector in the room. It's nice for friends who don't want to go out to lie in bed and watch a movie, and the central air conditioning is also very powerful. The public leisure area upstairs is quite nice too.
You can also gather around the stove to brew tea, there are some popular photo-taking and check-in facilities, and the view of the waterfall at night is really good!
The outdoor hot spring pool is simply too comfortable to soak in for half an hour after a tiring walk around the scenic area at night.
Downstairs, there is a local Hunan cuisine restaurant with reasonable prices and good taste, and they can deliver meals to your room, so you don't have to worry about finding food or stepping into tourist traps.
As for the scenic area, the night view is pretty beautiful, but because it's the dry season, the waterfall doesn't have much water, so it's just so-so during the day. At night, there are performances to watch, all of which are Tujia ethnic folk performances.
Furong Town Twelve Cities Hot Spring Hotel
Ever since history, it's the most satisfying hotel I've ever stayed in🏨
I booked this hotel on Ctrip, thinking of taking a taxi from the high-speed rail station to the hotel.
To my surprise, the hotel butler contacted me in advance to offer a pick-up from the high-speed rail.
They arranged a 7-seater car and even helped us carry our luggage all the way to our room.
The hotel environment is nice, and you can enjoy a free hot spring on the rooftop and they also offer free snacks as shown in picture 9⃣️. Any items needed, just a phone call away, and a robot will deliver them promptly.
The hotel provides a special shuttle service to and from the Furong Town scenic area, with excellent service.
The attitude is also very good👍. I highly recommend this Twelve Cities Hot Spring♨️ Hotel.
Laosicheng Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Laosicheng Scenic Area is located in Yongshun County, Xiangxi, Hunan Province, and is the seat of the Toast City.
Entering the scenic spot, first go to the pier and take the rubber raft to the swing handstand. The karst peaks on both sides of the river change, and the Guilin landscape is the same!
You can enjoy traditional dances such as Tujia swing dance, Maogus dance and Tujia folk songs in Handan.
Lao Sicheng Zu Shi Dian is located in the southern section of Taiping Taiping, built in the second year of the post-Jin Tianfu (AD 937), rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. The main hall column is surrounded by large numbers, and there are no axe chisel marks on the raft. It is said that it was built by Luban Xianling. The
Lao Sicheng site is located on the banks of the Lingxi River, 19.5 km east of Yongshun County. It is the capital of the Pengshi Tusi regime in Guxi. It was built in the 5th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1135), abandoned in the second year of Qing Emperor Yongzheng (AD 1724), returning to the soil and returning to the stream, after nine generations of Houliang, Houtang, Houjin, Houhan, Houzhou, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty. With more than 600 years of prosperous history, during the heyday, three thousand households in the city, eight hundred outside the city, the giant town of Wuxi, the border town of Wanli is one of the largest toasts in the southwestern part of China. There are a large number of historical and cultural relics and Tujia customs and cultural relics in the site of the
Laoshicheng. The palace area, the administrative department, the tomb area, the ceremonial building area and the residential area located in the center of the old Sicheng National Archaeological Site Park are the most important components of the National Archaeological Site Park.
The Old Sicheng Museum is located at the parking lot and management office of the Laosicheng population in Yongshun County, Hunan Province. It is the starting point for most visitors to understand Yongshun Tus, one of the most advanced museums in China.
The large screen of the pavilion 180 degrees shows the past and present life of the old city, the scene is shocking! The
museum displays the architectural style and lifestyle of the old city in an all-round way with unearthed artifacts and models. The corner of the
museum shows the building of the Handicraft Hall, which is used by the Tujia people to sacrifice ancestors and dance. The king of Tusi was the emperor of the ruling party. After the death of the toast, the Tujia people believed that their souls would still protect the people under their control. Therefore, they created the custom of worshipping the king of the earth and established the Tuwang Temple in each village (also known as the Tuwang Temple or the Shaman Temple). ) used to sacrifice.
is reminiscing about the ancestral booth and showing the faith of the toast. The Tujia people believe in a variety of gods and there is no fixed religious belief. Because the gods are mostly related to the ancestors, the Tujia people think that the "ancestors" are the best gods, and they are the best gods. Therefore, they worship the ancestors, so they are called ancestors. Most of the ancestors have the characteristics of primitive society, and only a few reflect the phenomenon after class differentiation.
