Zhenhaikou Coast Defense Site

This is the national key cultural relics protection unit, tourists are not many, just under the Zhaobaoshan Bridge, guarding the Yongjiang River estuary, the location is dangerous, the environment here is good, parking is also convenient, it is worth visiting.

According to historical records, there have been 46 wars since the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Since the mid-Ming Dynasty, Zhenhai has experienced wars against Japanese aggressors and Britain, France, Japan and other foreign aggression, leaving behind many heroic achievements and rich and precious coastal defense sites of its ancestors. There are more than 30 coastal defense sites in different periods in the area of less than 2 square kilometers on both sides of Zhenhaikou. They have been named 100 patriotic education demonstration bases in China. In November 1996, the State Council announced them as key cultural relics protection units in China. The main existing coastal defense relics in the north of Zhenhaikou include Weiyuan City, Yuecheng City, Anyuan Fortress, Fengnan, Ming and Qing Dynasty stele inscriptions and Houhai Tang sites.
