    Japan's first waltz

     Zhankaiho is an observatory with a superb view of Kujukushima, and it was on a hill about 20 by car from Sasebo Station. The statue standing down from the observatory on the hill was this statue of Hozumi Tanaka. Hozumi Tanaka was the leader of the Sasebo Marine Corps Army band in the Meiji era and is a composer of the song "Beautiful Natural" created on Kujukushima.

That was the statue of Hozumi Tanaka. According to the explanation board standing next to the statue, Hozumi Tanaka is the person who composed a song called "Beautiful Natural". It is said that it was composed by Hozumi Tanaka, who was the captain of the Sasebo Marine Corps at that time, who was impressed by the beautiful scenery of the sea and mountains of Sasebo.

    There is a statue under the observatory of Zhankaiho, which overlooks Kujukushima in the West Sea. The statue is said to be a beautiful natural composer. According to the explanation board, in 1873, Mr. Hozumi Tanaka, who was the commander of the Sasebo Marine Corps military band at that time, created a beautiful natural singing Kujukushima. Next to it is a monument of poetry and poetry called the 99th poet.
