Observatory with simulated castle tower
An observatory with a simulated castle tower in Kawaramachi, Tottori. It is also a museum in Kawaramachi. It is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi once had his headquarters on a small hill. You can see it well from the train on the Chizu Express Line.
A castle that looks good on the hill
It is a simulated (reconstruction) castle built on a small hill in Kawaramachi, Tottori City, and the official name is Maruyama Castle. You can climb to the top by car, but the road is currently under construction and there is a detour, and there is a parking lot at the top. (I 々 was quite hard because I climbed on foot from below.) Admission is 300 yen, but it was free for people over 65 years old. There were almost no other customers in the morning of weekdays. The castle itself is reinforced concrete and is a museum ＋ observatory.

I walked from Kawahara Station on the Inami Line. However, I wasn't interested in the inside of the castle, and I was hoping to take a picture for the time being, so I took a picture from the pedestrian bridge in front of the river immediately after passing the highway. This was enough. Because this castle tower has no particular meaning in history, it is a (vain) magnificent facility built after the Heisei period to become a symbol of the town.
