The location is excellent, just next to the biggest mall in Surabaya. The staffs are professional, all can communicate with fluent English. Will come back again next time
I recently spent my New Year's celebration at the Marriott Surabaya, and let me tell you, the first impression was like discovering a ”classic vinyl record”—a bit outdated yet full of charm! The decor leans towards the older side, but I was prepared for this vibe thanks to various reviews I had read.
After settling in, I grew to love the cozy atmosphere—like wrapping myself in a warm blanket. The room was surprisingly spacious, offering more space than many newer hotels, making it feel like my own little oasis! The bathroom was also gleaming and roomy enough for an impromptu dance party, should the mood strike!
Now, let’s dive into the breakfast experience at Pavilion. The cage-like design of the venue adds a unique touch, inviting plenty of sunlight—perfect for brightening up your morning. The buffet offered a wide array of dishes to satisfy international travelers' palates, making each breakfast an exciting adventure. The selection of Indonesian cuisines and desserts was particularly impressive.
But what truly set Pavilion apart was the staff. They were superb and went above and beyond, taking the time to cater to us personally. They even recommended and brought out some local dishes—insider choices that added an authentic touch to our dining experience. In my past hotel breakfasts, the staff often just fulfilled their duties, but here, it felt more like breakfast with friends. That warmth and attentiveness made all the difference!
And don’t miss out on the local flavors of ice cream! I can’t name the flavors since they’re all in local dialects, but they were heavenly and a fun challenge to try!
For lunch and dinner, I found myself opting for room service several times because resisting their tempting menu was like ignoring a catchy tune stuck in your head. Each meal surpassed my expectations—purely irresistible!
Another delightful surprise was the complimentary laundry service offered daily, which saved me after my waterfall adventure left me looking like a mud monster. And post-overnight trip to Bromo? I was practically a walking dust bunny! As I like to say, ”It's the little things that count,” and this thoughtful touch truly made a difference.
Lastly, the hotel's location is fantastic! Just a short stroll away lies the biggest shopping mall—truly a haven for foodies and shoppers alike. Overall, my stay at the Marriott Surabaya was delightful, and I left with wonderful memories—definitely a place I’d recommend for a cozy yet vibrant experience!
Was suggested to upgrade to junior suite by a very pleasant lady at the front desk.
I decided to go ahead with the suggestion, which was so worth it . The junior suite grants access to the executive lounge. Upon reaching there , I was served by an extremely welcoming , warm and friendly chef name Alfred. He takes the time to really introduce the dishes with so much passion and warmth . He ensure that I was well taken care of. Had an extremely pleasant time at Sheraton thanks to him. His service is one of the reason which makes Sheraton the top choice for subsequent stays whenever in Surabaya ( not to mention the delicious Rawon that both the executive lounge and lobby restaurant serve)
The other staff at the hotel are really friendly , always greeting customers with a smile.
The amenities provided at the hotel are really sufficient too
Exceptional Hospitality and Unmatched Convenience
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire hotel staff for their exceptional hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I felt like a true VIP—thanks to the warm and professional service from every team member, including reception, housekeeping, and security.
This hotel's prime location makes it an ideal choice for both business travelers and families. The seamless connection to Pakuwon Shopping Mall provided a fantastic shopping experience, adding to the convenience of my stay.
The room exceeded my expectations in cleanliness and comfort, allowing me to enjoy a restful sleep throughout my two-night stay. The hotel’s facilities, including the well-equipped gym and the refreshing swimming pool, were impressive and well-maintained.
A standout highlight was the remarkable Asian cuisine offered at the hotel. The flavors were authentic and diverse, and an expanded selection of 10 to 15 types of sambal would elevate the experience even further.
One of the most memorable touches was the fulfillment of my special request for welcome fruits, which truly made me feel valued as a guest.
Overall, I wholeheartedly give this hotel a well-deserved five-star rating and look forward to returning for another exceptional experience.

This location is in a more industrial neighbourhood with very few things around it if you’re staying here because you want to be close to the airport, there really is Here’s a tidier version of the hotel review:
The hotel is a bit out of the way, so be prepared to either take a taxi deeper into the city or bring supplies back with you. There’s a bakery on the first floor, a restaurant on the second floor, and the hotel has its own kitchen and bar. The fifth-floor bar is pleasant, with live music, but unfortunately, my food experience wasn’t great. When my order arrived, it was clear the food had been microwaved, and the chicken was completely raw. Although they kindly remade the dish, I didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes. The rice was cold and dry, and the Katsu dish, with just a few spoonfuls of curry sauce, was disappointing.
On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when I needed to book a hospital appointment for acid reflux. Overall, it’s fine for a short business stay, but not ideal for a longer visit due to the location and food quality issues.
One positive thing is that the service is excellent. Staff is positive, friendly & somewhat helpful. However, cleanliness & room maintenance can definitely be improved.

Clean room in a nice spot in Surabaya. Check ins & out are a little bit slow, about 15 minutes. The thing that disturb us the most is how the room is not soundproof at all. We can even make out what other people are saying in the room next to us, even we can hear the TV from others' room :(
Our superior room has no minibar, but I fancy the sofa in the room. Overall it's just fine.
A special shoutout to chef Dayat! His excellent services and professionalism is literally one of the best I have seen over many years of traveling. His passion and delicate taste for food is extraordinary. And most importantly he make us feel very welcomed and special whenever we come back to Westin Surabaya all the way from Singapore. Truly the best service!!! Keep up the excellent job. ☺️
This hotel is a beacon of civilization in a whole region which doesn't offer much else for international travelers. The ground floor restaurant is excellent. Rooms, facilities and staff are nice. Unbelievable this hotel opened only one month ago.

Very Good
PPpnmfI did not expect my stay there is going to be so pleasant. My impressions from reaching to leaving the Oakwood hotel, always greeted by all smiling staffs from the lobby, reception, restaurants, housekeeping. Check in and out process is like a breeze. Breakfast is good and staff even remember their guest room number. The room is huge and comfortable and clean. Bed is comfortable. Only that it is facing the main road, there were some road noise could be heard at night. There is a huge fridge and a washing/dryer machine. Full utensils, cook ware and Coffee machine. Will recommended this hotel to anyone.
The gestures, politeness and services provided by the staffs are really 5 stars.
NNaichaService was so good. i was stay there during earthquake , the staff very helpful to move the room lower floor. location is very good. nearby the PTC or Pakuwon Mall , walking distance 2 mins.
와와이즈맨It's a quiet place away from the old city center, but there are many restaurants and the people are friendly. The breakfast is delicious. I recommend the residence. The price is good.
JJbCachorroFor the price it is fine. They have a kitchen, but no refrigerator or utensils for cooking or eating. The cleanliness could be improved, although if you are looking for something at a very good price for one night, as was our case, it is worth it.
GGettin Novita ZanariaHostel with a view that amazes the eyes plus the sound of river water that makes you relax, facilities are okay, lots of plugs, cleanliness is okay, just minus the stairs if you bring lots of suitcases it's a bit of a hassle hahaha
