First of all, the scenery in Lucerne exceeded my expectations! The hotel is right on the edge of Lake Lucerne, and you can see the scenery when you step out. You can sit downstairs for an afternoon✅
🗺️ Location:
Turn right at the Weggis Pier for 50 meters. There is a bus stop downstairs from the hotel. Go out the hotel front desk and go up the slope to the Rigi cable car. It takes about 8 minutes to climb, so the transportation is very, very convenient!
🏠 Environmental facilities:
The hotel is relatively traditional, not a star-rated hotel. It provides breakfast and has its own restaurant. The rooms are not big and some have terraces, facing Lake Lucerne. It is clean and hygienic.
✅Service attitude:
The boss personally helped to carry the luggage🧳, thank you very much; the sister at the front desk was super nice, check-in was very smooth, and she gave Rigi's travel guide and introduced it in detail, including several routes up the mountain and how long it takes to walk. When I was leaving, I saw my earrings and complimented them on how beautiful they looked. It made me feel good for the day!
We really liked our stay! The rooms were very spacious and clean , with the perfect amount of amenities. It’s a 40/45 min drive to Luzerne city centre, but we purposely picked a hotel outside cause we wanted to drive around. The room from the view was great too. I’d stay here again!
The hostel is a 15-minute walk from Lucerne Train Station. It is in a good location with a shopping mall and coop downstairs. You will get four passwords when you check in by yourself. The women's dormitory is a six-person room with towels provided. Each capsule has a separate password, and each room also needs a password to open the door. So it is a double password and very safe. There are free luggage storage boxes in the corridor. The toilet and bathroom are very clean. Each small compartment in the bathroom has a dry and wet separation area. There are also towels provided to clean the floor of the bathroom after use. The staff are also very helpful.
The only thing I am not satisfied with is that there is no socket for charging, only a type c interface and a USB interface, and it is not 24 hours uninterrupted charging. As a result, the watch was not charged all night.
Don't expect a hotel where you can sleep. The place is very small, and the hot air conditioning is emitted through the heat pipe. I don't think it is warm enough, so I can only make do with it. The breakfast is very Western style, but there are hot omelets, which is OK. I guess I won't choose it next time.
The check-in process was really difficult. We arrived at the hotel around 9 PM. The self check-in machine couldn’t find our booking. We called for help and talked on the phone for a long time, but still couldn’t check in. Luckily (and unluckily), some other guests arrived and had the same problem. Because there were more of us, finally a male staff member agreed to come and check the machine.
This staff member kept saying it was our fault – that we entered our name wrong, or that we mixed up the first name and last name. He insisted the machine had worked fine for six months and couldn’t be broken. We tried different combinations of our names many times, but nothing worked. He tried too – and when it still didn’t work, he finally admitted the machine was the problem. Around 11:30 PM, we finally entered the rooms.
The next day, after we explained everything, the very friendly and polite ladies at the front desk kindly gave us a 10% discount. Most things about the hotel were great, and the front desk ladies were super helpful. We fully understand that technical problems happen sometimes, and waiting 2.5 hours to check in was also okay for us. We doNOT blame anyone or anything for that. But what we couldn’t understand was how the staff member insisted it was our fault and how he did NOT believe anything we said, and his attitude was a bit rude when we tried to explain that it wasn’t our fault.
It's pretty good. The front desk staff is very enthusiastic and patient. They gave me a guest card when I checked in and explained how to use it. The breakfast is good, with many choices, including yogurt, coffee, various breads and bacon. The room facilities are also sufficient, with a small window for a good view. The downside is that the bed and pillow are too soft and lack support.
There is no air conditioning in the room, which makes it very stuffy in summer. The environment is great.

HH JainThe room shown in pictures didn’t match what was offered on site. Very misleading. Took an hour of to and fro to be allocated a different room. The travel voucher never arrived by email, spent $$ on travel first day (shouldn’t have to) and got a travel voucher later after escalating to customer service. Breakfast was fine.
It’s a nice property but a few niggles as above. Must show correct pictures for rooms on advert.

GGuest UserI recently stayed at the Cascada Hotel for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is conveniently located very near the train station, just a 5-7 minute walk away, making it an ideal choice for travelers looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city center.
The service at the hotel was exceptional. The staff were incredibly helpful, even lending me an adaptor for my phone charger when I needed one. The amenities were also impressive, with complimentary use of the hotel minibar, including tea, water, coke, iced tea, and more—something most hotels do not offer.
The hotel is surrounded by a variety of shops and restaurants, adding to the convenience of the location. There's also an on-site restaurant known for its Spanish menu, which is definitely worth a visit.
My room was kept clean every day, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time at the Cascada Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great service, excellent amenities, and a peaceful yet convenient location.
MMsia travellerThe hotel is quite a distance away from the train station moreover google maps is not updated as there is road under construction and it took some time for us to look for the correct way to the hotel. We arrived 30 mins earlier but the hotel wasn’t flexible and thoughtful and wanted to charge us $10 for early check-in. When we asked if can drop off luggage at their place, the hotel again wanted to charge $3 per piece. No hair dryer was provided in the room and we wanted to borrow from the front desk but it wasn’t available and asked to come back the next morning. We did so and they wanted to collect $20 as deposit. It’s additional hassle to use international adapter to plug in the hair dryer before able to use it.
SSusukangIs very near the train station and convenient with supermarket and restaurant nearby. Walkable distance to the lake. Clean room and friendly staff.
JJazz998The location of the hotel is very good, very close to Lucerne train station. The interior environment is clean, bright and tidy, and there are many guests, which proves that the hotel has a good reputation. As a tourist, I am generally satisfied with my stay!
KKCcccccccccCentrally located in a quiet street in the city centre near the main train station ; stylish renovation of the hotel and functional kitchenette in the room I stayed (can you imagine there is a dish washer in the room ?😂and every day the housekeeper used it for our dirty dishes); laundry room on the first room and cozy cafe on the ground floor; reasonable price considering a Swiss standard; overall, excellent (input the confirmation number from trip.com and your name when you need to do the self check in at the entrance indoors; the door is closed and looks locked but actually you can open it 😂) ; will book it again when coming here in Luzern again ) 👍
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is perfectly beautiful and conveniently close to public transport. This includes the boats which go on various trips on the lake.
Service in the hotel was very good and I would especially like to mention Kenny at reception who was happy to go the extra mile. The food was good and a wonderful breakfast buffet is served. The coffee was good, croissants and bread fresh, a wonderful selection of good quality jam, simply excellent.
For those who wanted, there was even smoked salmon and on certain days, a glass of bubbly!!
Would also like to mention the two ladies who run “breakfast” and keep things clean and fresh. Thank you.
