The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the town hall, making it easy to walk to anywhere in the city center. Although it's a 3-star hotel in an old building, the facilities are very new, the bed is soft, and there's a mini-fridge. The only downside is that the internet can be a bit slow when there are a lot of people, but that doesn't affect my overall rating!

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. The facilities were good and everything was well organized. Overall, it was a great stay and we would happily come back again.

Pros: The room was much more spacious than I expected, very clean, modern, and well-maintained. I also loved having a Smart TV in the room. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Cons: One thing I found disappointing was that there were no women's sanitary products or basic pain relief available, which meant I had to go out early in the morning to purchase them myself. The shower pressure was also quite low, and the water temperature was often colder than expected. Overall: Despite these minor issues, I really enjoyed my stay and felt it offered great value for money. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Facilities: Well-equipped with a wardrobe, desk, and toiletries. Cleanliness: Spotless and tidied daily. Environment: Pleasant, right by the road and not far from the subway, making transport convenient. Service: Breakfast was abundant. Front desk also offers free luggage storage.

My stay at Mercure Welcome Melbourne was a fantastic experience. The hotel's location is excellent, making getting around super convenient, and it's close to all the city's attractions, which made exploring and shopping a breeze. The overall environment was clean and tidy, with an elegant and spacious lobby. My room had great natural light, a simple yet cozy decor, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a very good night's sleep. The staff were warm, polite, and efficient during both check-in and check-out, and their service was thoughtful and attentive. The bathroom facilities were comprehensive, with stable hot water supply, and the cleanliness was impeccable. There's a wide variety of dining options nearby, making daily life and getting around very easy. Overall, the value for money in downtown Melbourne is outstanding. It was a comfortable and pleasant stay, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Melbourne. Highly recommended!

(1) The front desk lady was incredibly condescending. She was clearly of Asian descent, but she looked at us with utter contempt the moment we walked in. Her attitude was completely impatient and rude, and she spoke to us in a superior tone, lacking any professional hotel etiquette. It was really uncomfortable to be discriminated against by another Asian person in Australia – seriously, what's up with that? 😅 Later, when we were leaving, we saw her being incredibly friendly to a Caucasian man, smiling and greeting him as soon as he entered, asking about his needs. What's that supposed to mean? 😅 I was happy until I saw her at the front desk, and then I just wanted to switch hotels. (2) The hotel also completely failed to inform us about the check-out time. It's completely different from the standard 12:00 PM check-out in China. We started getting knocks on our door at 8:00 AM, but no one spoke, so we thought it was a mistake. No one told us it was because we needed to check out. We weren't informed at all beforehand, which resulted in us being ordered to leave immediately. It was humiliating and offensive; we were almost kicked out and were charged an extra $50! ❗️ (3) The other hotel staff were very nice, and the Thai food at the hotel was also delicious 😋. The guests from other countries we met were also very friendly and polite. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but the fried rice was exceptionally good.

We checked in around 8:30-9:00 PM on June 7, 2026. The staff member at reception was incredibly kind and helpful, which made for a great start to our stay. The hot water worked perfectly, the breakfast was excellent, and the hotel's location, just a short walk to the sea, was fantastic. They have a swimming pool that didn't smell strongly of chlorine, and it's about 1 to 1.85m deep. There's also a hot spa right next to it with wonderfully warm water. I'd definitely want to come back! Just a heads-up: you'll need to buy your own bottled water when you check in, as none is provided in the room.

The hotel is one of Australia's top 100 golf courses. It's very new. The rooms are big and the beds are very comfortable. The stadium has a supporting restaurant. Friends who go to Geelong can stay there.

I booked a king-sized room, and both the space and the bed were quite large. Honestly, a standard-sized room probably would have been enough. The hotel has been recently renovated, so it still looks pretty new. The location is listed as Chinatown, but the nearest tram stops are about a 6-minute walk away. Thankfully, Melbourne's city center is quite compact. The room temperature can be adjusted freely. I'm not sure if there were disposable slippers – I've forgotten. We had two people staying, but they only provided one set of toothbrushes and amenities daily, so I was glad I'd brought my own. There's a small fridge with a complimentary carton of milk inside, but it didn't come with a straw. Things that brought down the score: One night, around 9 PM, the fire alarm went off. Everyone rushed downstairs, only to be told it was a false alarm. As we were halfway back up, it started ringing again, another false alarm. And then there's the noise. The king rooms face the street, and the noise mainly came from modified cars driven by 'ghost riders' all night, and then various emergency vehicles starting from 6 or 7 AM. If you've ever been to Thailand, the constant roar of motorcycles on the street is exactly what it was like. I even took two videos so you could get a feel for it, and those weren't even the loudest moments, just the mildest sounds. It felt like I was sleeping on the street. I don't think the hotel needs renovation; what it really needs is soundproof windows, otherwise, it's not suitable for a comfortable stay.

The hotel's location is really good. It's super convenient to get to the hotel from the terminal. The room size is good for unpack & repack your stuff for the trip. Since we didn't have breakfast included in the booking. There are 2 choices for the breakfast: 1. Hotel's breakfast for 35AUD/person 2. Deli cafe. We had a sandwich & muffin there. It's quick and easy to get ready in the morning.
