The positives:
Clean rooms, modern and appears to be quite new, good shower. Beds were soft - slept well. Good climate control in the room. Quiet - even though we were close to the airport and a major road, there was no noticeable noise.
Negatives.
No refrigerator, no kettle or tea / coffee making facilities. Nothing anywhere near the hotel - no 7-11's, shops, restaurants. So if you wanted to buy anything at all it was a bus ride into town.
I bumped into someone who was staying in a hotel a couple of doors away and their room also had no fridge or tea making facilities, so clearly these rooms are designed for people staying overnight before a flight, just a room to shower and sleep in.
We were able to go down to the restaurant or reception and get hot water to make our own tea / coffee.
I stayed here for a total of 4 nights and 5 days. This hotel was a little far from tourist attractions, but I am grateful that I was able to stay in a 5-star hotel at a good price. Scales, facilities, breakfasts, and services distinguished this hotel from four-star hotels, and staffs were exceptionally friendly. In particular, artistic architects participated in hotel construction and showed artistic interiors. Staying in a room that is comparable as a work of art was a beautiful experience of travel. I changed the room once during my stay, and the second room was perfect for both artistry and practicality in feeling like boarding a spacecraft. In the second room, I was particularly satisfied with the bathroom facilities. Also, I am especially grateful to all the staff who helped my mother, who got hurt while traveling in Toledo.

This is my second stay. I still think the location of the hotel is great, and the staff is very helpful. I found this time the breakfast options narrowed in some products and expanded in other ones that seem to adapt more to international visitors. I would come back to this hotel in the future if I come back to Madrid.

Amazing location!

The rooms at the hotel are spacious, beautifully decorated, and filled with natural light. The room is quite spacious. The front desk staff is polite but a little cold. The breakfast is quite rich. The hotel is in a good location, within walking distance of the Royal Palace and Plaza de España. A 10-minute walk away is the British Palace, a one-stop place for dining and shopping. The hotel is in a small street, opposite a primary school. It is also very interesting to watch parents pick up and drop off their children every day.
The hotel has free parking and you can charge your car for free. Very good. It would be nice if the room could provide two bottles of water every day. It is very close to the airport and it is convenient to eat around.
They have great breakfasts
Location is far from Madrid with no public transport so you will need Uber or private transport
They offer free shuttle pick up from hotel to Airport which is a plus.
Overall super affordable hotel with great breakfast with not so great location
Nice lodge for early flight travelers, a bit far from city center. Good price compared to the hotels in more centrally located hotels. Jute not much to see nearby.
The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast spread was extensive, with options catering to Chinese palates, including local fried dough sticks (youtiao) and dumplings, all of which tasted great. There was also a wide selection of fresh fruit. The only minor downside was the typical European hotel amenity setup – no complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers provided in the room. The location is also excellent, right next to Retiro Park and the Prado Museum.

GGuest UserMy husband and I had a wonderful stay at Crowne Plaza. The hotel staff are very welcoming and helpful each time we reach out to them. They grant requests as well. The location though not at the center, is very convenient. Easy to go around by foot or take a taxi just outside the hotel.

TTraveler 123recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Palacio de los Duques in Madrid, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I entered the magnificent palace-like building, I was captivated by the grandeur and elegance that surrounded me.
The hotel's location in the heart of Madrid's historic center is perfect for exploring the city's attractions. Many iconic landmarks, such as the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor, are within walking distance, making it convenient for sightseeing enthusiasts like me.
The staff at Palacio de los Duques Madrid truly went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service provided by the concierge, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality and professionalism.
The room I stayed in was beautifully appointed and exuded a sense of luxury. The elegant decor, comfortable furnishings, and modern amenities created a perfect sanctuary after a day of exploring the city. The attention to detail was impeccable, and I appreciated the little touches that enhanced my stay, such as the plush bathrobes and high-quality toiletries.
One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's stunning rooftop terrace. Offering panoramic views of Madrid's skyline, it provided a breathtaking backdrop for enjoying a drink or simply unwinding while taking in the city's beauty. The on-site restaurant also surpassed my expectations with its delectable cuisine, showcasing a fusion of traditional and contemporary flavors.
Hotel Palacio de los Duques Madrid seamlessly blends historical charm with modern luxury. The preservation of the building's architectural heritage, combined with the impeccable service and attention to detail, creates an unforgettable experience.
Overall, my stay at Hotel Palacio de los Duques Madrid exceeded all expectations. It is a true gem in the heart of Madrid, offering a perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and convenience. MMrWong888After traveling extensively in China, returning to Spain highlighted some noticeable differences, particularly in Madrid. While the city and its infrastructure may feel a bit outdated compared to other global hubs, the Hotel Madrid Chamartín Affiliated by Meliá was a decent and comfortable place to stay.
The hotel’s location is its strongest feature—it’s directly across from Chamartín Train Station and its adjacent subway station. While the train station and subway facilities are not the most modern or impressive, the convenience of being so close to transportation hubs is a definite plus. The street leading to the hotel is a bit unusual, set on a slope, but it’s manageable.
The room was clean and functional, though slightly dated. The beds were comfortable, albeit with older spring mattresses that could use an upgrade. Despite the slightly worn feel, the room provided a comfortable space to rest after a day of exploring or work.
The standout feature of this hotel was undoubtedly the breakfast. It was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options that catered to different tastes. It was easily the highlight of my stay and set a great tone for the day.
The service was also pleasant and friendly, which is a nice touch, especially given the sometimes lackluster service standards in Spain. The staff were helpful and made the stay more enjoyable.
Overall, while the Hotel Madrid Chamartín Affiliated by Meliá may not be the most modern or luxurious option, it offers good value for its location, a comfortable stay, and an exceptional breakfast. If you’re looking for a convenient and reliable place to stay near Chamartín Station, this hotel is a solid choice.
GGuest UserOur stay at Hard Rock was really pleasant! The staff were really helpful and accommodating, ready to answer all our questions and provide recommendations. Special shout to Alejandro and Alberto at the front desk, and also Adrian who took care of our luggages.
There are two bars, one in the lobby and one on the rooftop. Drinks are good. We did not have breakfast in the hotel so we can’t comment on that.
Room was nice and comfortable, they clean daily. Only thing I didn’t like was the sink was outside the bathroom.
Not sure why many people complained about the location. There are PLENTY of cafes, bars, and restaurants within walking distance and all frequented by locals. It’s also just a couple of stops away from Sol station.
Here’s a tip, the hotel will tell you that the nearest station is Atocha, but we feel like Lavapies station is much closer and easier to walk to. Lavapies is also only one stop from Sol station - which is the centre.
For breakfast, there is a Panaderia right across the road. For lunch or dinner, there’s Bar Argumosa and Orisha restaurant.
If you’re okay to walk a bit more, there’s a lovely neighbourhood called Anton Martin with many bars and restaurants too.
GGuest UserGreat hotel, nice restaurants and rooftop bar.
The room was nice and spacious, great location with christmas market right across from the hotel.
GGuest UserThe room is spacious and the bathroom is large. It is close to the airport and takes 10 minutes by taxi to the airport.
The outdoor pool has good facilities and the children can play in the water together. It is very good.
The breakfast is rich in variety. Eat breakfast at the Novotel hotel opposite
