It wasn't the most pleasant experience considering that the males n females had to share toilets and that some other rooms had private toilets n bath instead. And also the fact that the walls are super thin hence whomever is connected to your room if their loud or they don't like your voice volume than you might get kicked to the curb. It's a very frustrating experience for sure since it tests one's patience n ability to let go. It's training for the customers n monks alike. I met a Japanese friend here whom shared with me how rude the monks and the staff were to one another n I think that shows the quality of this place however we were pretty lucky as there was a male who spoke mandarin n a male who spoke English both quite well in this place n though the mandarin speaker was quite condescending towards the other monks, the English speaker was really nice n patient overall. He helped me out a lot since we couldn't communicate with the others n seemed to be the only customers that spoke English whom booked this place by ourselves, the others around seemed to have a guide n were usually in groups. It's a unique experience n I recommend just staying for one night or going to the other temples. I went for the ajikan meditation at eko in temple n the service n cleanliness was on another level for sure. The food here was also really simple. Also a must see are the tomb area n the walk to kobold daishi temple. As a sensitive person, I felt the overwhelming love n presence and the cleanse of my heart of this amazing soul over there. To me, that was worth it. Remember to clean yourself with the water out front before going in.... and of course to the amazing fateful friendship that occurred for us with the jap-********* couple we met. It was the next fav of mine after the time spent in nara visitor center. That was truly magickal n how I wished we stayed longer there. But all was good cause the way I planned this trip made it so that we would have this fateful encounter to the end of our trip.

I used the starry sky cottage without meals plan. Each cottage has its own characteristics, so I think the type you choose will change according to your particular points. The starry sky cottage had a large BBQ terrace and a table and sofa. It was also a gas type BBQ stove, so it was easy anyway. You don't need a BBQ stove or charcoal, and cooking utensils are free! !! !! Since I could rent it, I was able to experience the outdoor easily for leisure that doubles as sightseeing. There was no roof in the bath in the starry sky cottage, and I hesitated to the cold until I entered. When I entered, the outside air was comfortable and I could fully enjoy it even in winter. However, if you have a small child ... I thought it would be difficult for this bath. It's a cottage for 4 people, but 2 are regular beds. The other two beds were simple and narrow and the bed comfort seemed to be not good. Summer seems even better because there is a place where you can play in the river just below the cottage. I used it in autumn, but after sightseeing in Mt. Koya, I checked in here and enjoyed the barbecue. It was easy with only the ingredients ♪ The next day, I saw a ginkgo tree for 5 minutes by car and went to Porto Europe. Unlike the hotel, I was very satisfied because I wanted to experience the outdoors. Considering the price and ease of use, I think that families and groups can have enough fun memories.

The room was very clean. The landlady was kind and could communicate in Chinese using a translation software. I ordered her breakfast for 800 yen and it was very comfortable. I didn’t know what to choose from the meal. I just ate what she made and I was very satisfied. This B&B can pick you up from the station. I don’t speak Japanese, so I can only walk there. When I left, she drove me to the station. I liked it very much! The bus runs twice a day, and it’s difficult to take a taxi. The pick-up and drop-off is very pleasant.

1) Right in front of the station! After Kie Shing Pu stands out, you will see a flyover, go to the ”left”, and go down the stairs. The flyover is on the left side. Don't go forward (the bus stop is down in front). 2) Pretty good! The room is clean and comfortable, and the room has a hair dryer and towel bath towel. The shower does not require an appointment, the hot spring ♨️ is a private time to make an appointment, and it does not need to be with everyone. The public bathhouse, I feel very good. 3) The whole homestay is very well organized. Very warm feeling ❤️ There are many small Japanese layouts, small thinking, toilets are shared, there are extra sinks to brush your teeth, wash your face, etc. 4) The boss is quite young, can speak a little English, and the people are very kind. No noise will be banned after the lights are off at 11 o'clock in the evening. The boss will remind the children who are playing to be quiet. The boss will also give some local information about Jishengpu, bus time, and a map of Zhishang, etc. 5) There is a lawson who walks for five minutes nearby to buy snacks. 6) Lockers are available indoors and outdoors. Need to invest 100 yen, but will be returned when receiving, so it is equal to free, great 7) The overall living is quite comfortable and enjoyable. I only have one person, I know that I only stayed for one day, very satisfied.
Otonashi No Sato Wataze Onsen & Cottage

There are fewer restaurants near the hotel. You can go to the hot springs when you stay in the hotel. Although the facilities are very old, it is really comfortable to soak in the soup after hiking! ! The front desk does not speak English but the service attitude is very good, it is still very recommended

We stayed here for a night during a 3 day hike, and this hostel style hotel exceeded our expectation. The bento box for dinner was better than expected. The porridge in the morning was great, especially with the extra toppings provided with it. Even the coffee included was much appreciated. We had a private room, and it met all our needs. The onsens were great! 3 are there and never seemed to be busy…I recommend the outside one. Location is also ideal…only a 2 minute walk to the town Onsen. We usually like to stay in 3 star hotels or better seeing we are not hostel type people anymore, but we would stay here again, and I would recommend this place to anyone.

The location is inconvenient, but it is not a distance that can't walk because it is about 20 minutes walk from the adventure world. I called a taxi to the airport and was kind. The bath was heated but it was a large space with natural hot springs, clean and nice large bath. It will be a separate building that will once come out of the hotel. The outerwear provided in the room was hard to walk. There is only shampoo inrinse and body soap, so if you are interested in hair, you should bring a conditioner. The morning baked bread is very delicious. It is a pity that there is only foaming sake and tuhai on the vending machine. I am glad that there are wine and local beer.
XYZ Private Spa and Seaside Resort

The hotel is located by the sea and has a private beach (stone beach). The room terrace has a private hot spring, and it feels very free to watch the seaside hot spring. At 9 pm, the hotel will also arrange to play the projection on the beach hill with Laser for the pre-written message of the guests. This service is very heartwarming. If you want to propose and celebrate your birthday, you will dry it. The main course for dinner is Japanese-style roast and beef, with two Italian and Spanish pre-foods, Japanese fried rice and ice cream. The taste is very good and the arrangement is very careful, the service is very thoughtful 👍🏻 breakfast is a simple Western food. Because the location of the hotel is relatively remote, I have to drive by myself. The hotel is built on the mountain. The parking lot is a slope away from the reception desk. When checking in and leaving the hotel, the waiter will use the Golf car to carry guests and luggage to the parking lot and the reception desk. The check-in record is very simple, just report the reservation name, no registration and deposit are required. The waiter will take the initiative to send the luggage to the room via the stairs, and will not bother the guests at all. The service is first-class. Although the space in the room is slightly thin, it is still enough. The room was clean and well maintained. In summary, private hot springs and hotel services on the guest terrace are selling points 👍🏻

I don't know if this place was recently renovated, but it was very clean and freshly done. The room was exactly as pictured on the website, and despite the small dimensions it was not bad. I was only there to sleep anyway, so I didn't need a huge room. There are no shoes allowed so you will be asked to change into slippers at the entrance after you check-in. The lady who checked me in was very kind and informative, probably relieved that I spoke in Japanese. Amenities are limited, but if all you want is a toothbrush and a shower with clean towels it is enough. They provide yukata at the entrance but they don't have a public bath, so it seems pointless unless you forgot your pyjamas by accident. They serve limited breads and all you can drink coffee, tea and juice in the morning in a little dining area. The hotel doesn't have a lot of rooms so there is no crowd of people to fight off for your morning bread roll. The entrance is open at all hours of the day so you can come and go as you like and sightsee without worrying about being back on time. This is a concern with some guest houses, I suppose. Only bothersome thing was the smoking area is directly next to a parking space, so you're smoking about a foot away from someone's car. This is probably not the best place to have the smoking area for both the smoker and the driver. The location is a 15 minute walk from the beach on a very narrow road, so you have to be careful at night as the sidewalks keep switching sides of the road and that particular road always has heavy traffic. There is a famous bath house not far away and also a foot bath at the top of Ginza-dori to soak your feet in either before or after your walk. It helps a lot.
