From Heathrow Airport to Russell Square station, the hotel is close to Russell Square station. So it is quite convenient. But from the train to the exit of Russell Square station you need to carry your luggage upstairs yourself for a little bit

Location is very convenient and the stuff were friendly. The dorm was very small for the amount of beds and there was not much space for luggage. Toilet flush was not working properly.
Kitchen and common area are nice!
St Christopher's Inn Greenwich is the first hostel I lodged when I first got to the United Kingdom in February 2023 and this prompted me to book the place again this year.
The cleaners and some members of staff were very nice and respectful but a short lady was very rude to me. She is light in colour and I have her picture.
I approached her to make some enquiries but she insulted and made derogatory statements to me. She even shouted at me and was very rude. I was embarrassed by her actions and just left the lady.
She pierced her ears and was on duty around 1.30pm on Monday 26th February. Her actions depicts someone who is frustrated and I don't expect the lady to be pouring her anger on customers. What I avoided was confrontation with her because I am a gentle person who doesn't like unnecessary arguments with people. But I feel lodgers deserve some form of respect which for me is reciprocal.
The hostel’s location and cleanliness are solid, but the operation is a disaster.
First, reception is hidden inside a bar downstairs—confusing for new guests. Staff (who double as bartenders) often leave the desk unattended, forcing you to wait. The check-in system is broken: I was assigned an already occupied bed, and another girl told me she’d been moved for the same reason. After being reassigned, I was woken at 3 AM by staff shining a flashlight in my face, claiming there was a ”problem” with my bed. They confirmed my name but offered no apology—just rude disruption. Turns out, that girl didn’t return at night, so they removed her belongings and gave her bed to someone else!
Instead of fixing their own mess, they disrupted multiple guests in the middle of the night. Unprofessional, chaotic, and downright rude—especially for a chain hostel. Never again.
Place is amazing and the staff was friendly. However the bed was super uncomfortable and infected with bed bugs which I communicated but basically was told that I could change beds the next day. Such a let down because otherwise I would never stay anywhere else.
Excellent for economy & solo travel. All nice staffs & flexible management. All as pictures shown in website. Bed is clean, tidy & comfortable. Soft closing door & auto lock are perfect. Well equipped kitchen & dining area at lower ground level with big & bright windows. A whole wall size big screen & 2 big sofa at movie room.
window of 4-bed female room facing main street, not busy traffic but not really quiet. only the sockets on the room table of the room.
Good points:
-Services are great and staff are helpful and nice.
-Free tea and coffee
-Near supermarket and train station
-Small light next to the bed
Bad points:
-The toilet is a bit smelly
-Hair dryers are located in B1/F which is inconvenient
-Small kitchen
-Will be noisy at night sometime because of the bars nearby
-Expensive laundry (about 8 pounds)

The hostel is very centrally located, with convenient access to public transportation, shops, and restaurants. It’s definitely a great spot if you want to be in the heart of the city.
However, I was assigned a room in the basement, which had poor ventilation and a noticeable damp, moldy smell. Unfortunately, this made the stay less comfortable.
To make things worse, one of the lights in the room couldn’t be turned off at night, which affected my sleep quality.
It’s a convenient place in terms of location, but the room conditions definitely need improvement.

I was booking with bunk bed and then I upgraded it to private pod which is 18 person in the room. In the room itself has a basin and a mirror, but it’s literally in front of other bed. I feel stress stepping in front of others’ area to use the basic, so mostly of the time I was going to share the bathroom. Its bathroom is separated female and male. Female has only 1 basin. Sometimes you have to wait – didn’t think it can be used with 2 people at the same time. It’s extremely small.
My pod come with a curtain. It has 2 lights – you can adjust the light colour tone as warm or cold. The entrance of the pod has a little fan. It was summer, so it’s super hot. I ended up sleeping my head toward the entrance, and my legs are the most in in the pod... so the fans can directly blow on my face.
When I stayed here everything was excellent but unfortunately the fire alarm went off at 2am & I had work at 8am to 8pm...& had to get up at 6.30am was so shattered. Unfortunately, of course, it was a false alarm. Apart from that this place was a nice place to stay.....

Very Good
AAnonymous UserI had issues with the app to begin with and missed a lot of updates and notifications, like the 'how to get in' instruction video. However, on arrival the self check-in code machine was not working properly. I tried several times only for an alarm to go off. Others joined me and also tried the code without luck. We tried to contact the telephone number listed but immediately hung up on several occasions. We eventually dialled the 'after 9pm emergency' number who didn't help first time, but helped the send time. Once in, the property was not quite as I expected, but the pods were comfortable if not a little stuffy on a warm night. But it did the trick. The area is perfectly fine, walking distance of Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market and both Whitechapel and Aldgate East train stations. I was a bit cautious late at night being a single female, but once inside I felt perfectly safe. I would use it again when in the area as it was reasonably priced and kinda funky.
GGuest UserIt's a convenient place to stay for a night (a few at most) although the rooms are quite small and the general layout of the building feels very cramped. I'd stay again out of necessity over desire to return but for a cheap hostel in central London you can't ask for much more.

AAnonymous UserThe location is convenient, close to underground station. The communal areas were cozy. However, I did encounter an issue with cleanliness in the room. Despite this, the service was good overall and the staffs were helpful, making it a decent value for money.

SSurachaiThe bedroom and bathroom are quite narrow. There is almost no place to put it. Strong water, free WiFi, but in the room the signal is not good, there is no TV, but overall good, near the train station. Near a mini-mart, suitable for Backpackers..When sleeping late at night, you can hear the sound of people opening and closing doors, the sound of people walking, disturbing when sleeping.

GGuest UserVery close to tube station and bus stop. Its well situated. The bathroom were clean. I was there for just one night (Friday). It was quiet. I didn't use any other facilities. Would stay again.
