Hostels in Hong Kong, China

"Clean and convenient, with an excellent location. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming, and my dorm-mates were also lovely. The environment is similar to a student dormitory, with shared bathrooms, which is great value for money at this price point. I've visited Hong Kong countless times, for both layovers and holidays, and I've stayed at many places nearby, but none were as clean as this one. Most importantly, this dorm is right next to the elevator, with a fire escape just on the other side of the wall, and it's on a low floor, so you can react quickly in case of any issues. There's keycard access for entry and exit, and surveillance cameras in the common areas, making it much safer than many other hostels. The only downside is that there's no place to hang clothes in the multi-person rooms, haha, you have to go through the outside corridor to the martial arts hall area. Unfortunately, the single rooms were all booked up early during the peak summer season. I'll definitely come back if I get the chance."

"I recommend this hotel only if you book a private room, but I would not recommend staying in the shared hostel rooms. To be fair, this does not mean there are no good aspects. The owner/front desk lady is one of the nicest people I’ve met. She was always respectful, responsive, and very accommodating. Despite a misunderstanding, she made sure I was taken care of and able to rest comfortably. She replies quickly to messages and keeps guests updated, which I really appreciated. During my stay, I moved rooms twice and stayed in three different rooms overall. Most of the occupants seemed to be Chinese guests. I originally booked a shared room for girls, which had four beds. Unfortunately, the room was very small and did not have air conditioning—only a wall-mounted electric fan. When I arrived, the room was messy and unclean, and it looked like all the beds were already occupied. I asked the owner where I should stay, and she kindly explained that the room had not yet been cleaned and that she would take care of it immediately. I understood and decided to go out first and come back later. However, when I returned in the evening, the room was still not cleaned, and there were already four people staying inside. Since the front desk operates only from 10 AM to 7 PM, no one was there at that time. I felt disappointed and called her. She responded quickly and explained that there had been a miscommunication with the booking, then arranged to transfer me to another room. The second room was much better. It was larger—possibly meant for groups—but I had it to myself. The bed and bathroom were also cleaner. That night, I decided to upgrade to a private room because I no longer felt comfortable sharing after my first experience. I paid an additional 150 HKD and transferred the next day. The final room was intended for two people, but again, I had it to myself. It was cleaner and much more comfortable, especially the bathroom. Overall, the service from the owner is excellent, but the shared room experience needs significant improvement. If you value cleanliness, comfort, and peace of mind, I strongly suggest booking a private room instead."
