This time, because I remembered the wrong flight time, I booked a room (non-refundable hotel) for an extra night. After communicating with Ctrip customer service and the hotel front desk, they helped to solve the problem.

It is a house with local characteristics. It has a good location. It is ten minutes away from the central railway station. It is beside the canal and there are many foods around. It is also a ten-minute walk to Dam Square.

Don't get conned by this establishment! It looks nice from the outside but once you're in, the service is atrocious! There's great pretence in ”trying” to serve and assist/help in anything (from restaurant reservations to car park ticket validations) - it's all one big farce! The only commendable thing was the buffet breakfast - that's the only plus point.

The room was very clean, the staff were very kind, but only one thing that made me very uncomfortable is that the recipients were talking about negative content. I guess they could do that because I am Asian and they might think I couldn’t understand what they were saying. Unfortunately, I could understand it, what is worse, they might not have the hospitality as a staff of hotel. They were young and complains about their colleague. A woman staff was saying “She is so rude. She doesn’t listen to people.” or something like that. I was there with my sister, and she doesn’t understand English that well. I didn’t want to ruin our memory, that’s why I pretend not listening to their talk at all, but I was disappointed with it. I will not recommend this hotel, and may not select this hotel again.

Perfect location as nearby Amsterdam Central station, and able to take metro and tram easily. There are different restaurants and coffee shop nearby, the department store is closed to hotel also.
Great location as the hotel is close to both the train station & City centre. Staff are friendly & helpful. Good policy of rewarding guest with $5 each day if housekeeping is skipped.
Room rate is a bit pricy considering the room size (12 or 17 sm) and limited room amenities and hotel facilities offered ( no gym & no pool ). Guest must be aware that the some room types come without any complimentary bottled water , slippers or toothbrush/paste.

Come during Christmas 2024. Female receptionist was polite. Male receptionists were so so. Generally is good. This hotel is just walkable to Amsterdam central. Very good location. Just no facilities . Generally is ok.

Excellent room, excellent location and atmosphere of the hotel.
Staff however, too often, go according to the 'book', and find it hard to think and improvise on the spot. It's as if they are under trained. When checking in there is no need to ask the guest to fill info on the iPad. You have this info, to stay in touch, already. Don't burden the weary traveler with trivial nonsense. If the sun shines, finally after weeks of grey and rain, and a guest sees the patio with tables in the sun, and this guest wants to have tea in the sun outside in the patio, this has to be a possibility. Don't say, well it's not the season so it's closed, it doesn't make sense, you're a top hotel, not the vander Valk. Improvise, think on your feet, explain that he is welcome to sit there and that his tea will be brought out, but it might take a few minutes longer. This way the guest feels listened to and that the moon is even possible.
The kitchen is incredible, the food is wonderful. Last evening I had dinner at the Jansz., two ladies working, were very kind, helpful and attentive, they understood the delicate balance between asking how things are going and leaving the guest alone. I want them to know i appreciate them. Please extend my gratitude to them. Also the Asian looking lady who worked during breakfast this morning, was excellent. Please let her know as well. Finally, the staff at the entrance - getting cabs etc. - are great. Some of the male staff are too - in Dutch, popy yoopy. I am your guest and not your friend. That's all, and that's enough.
Thank you for a great stay and I hope to come back again when I am back in the Netherlands.
Kind regards,
Diederik Lugt

We recently stayed at a centrally located hotel in Amsterdam, and overall, it was a great experience. The location was excellent — as it was close to all the places we wanted to visit , which made exploring the city a breeze.
The room itself was big enough for the two of us. As for the service, it was exceptional, with friendly and approachable receptionists who were always ready to help us.
However, I did encounter a couple of issues during our stay. On the third day, we requested fresh sheets, but unfortunately, that request was overlooked and the floor was left unclean upon our arrival, marked by our shoes from all the walking, which was a bit disappointing. Given that we left early to maximize our day, it was disheartening to find that the sheets weren't changed, and the floor remained dirty.
Another minor inconvenience was that we had to remind the staff daily about the complimentary water in our room but in spite of all these issues, the great location and friendly service made our experience enjoyable, though there's room for improvement in housekeeping.

Great
GGuest UserThe room was clean and comfortable and a good rate through Trip.com. The staff were polite and helpful. I stayed three nights and the room was not serviced during my stay. Someone did knock on my door around 5pm the day before I was leaving and asked if I needed the room to be cleaned. I declined as I had been out all day and needed to relax. Apart from the lack of housekeeping my stay was generally good.

CCUII stayed in the hotel during my business trip. It's clean and in a convenient location, and the hotel service is also good. Overall, it is quite good. I will choose it again next time and hope the hotel could give more discounts to old customers.
DDavid JapanI stayed for 2 nights on January 17th and 18th, 2024.
The young white man at the front desk took a long time to check in and was unpleasant.
I was surprised that even though I had made a reservation, the guests had to enter my name, country of origin, phone number, etc. into an iPad. By the way, I have stayed at other hotels in Amsterdam and Brussels, but this is the only one where check-in was so difficult. While I was inputting my personal information, the front desk staff took a long time to settle the remaining amount of the accommodation fee, even though he had plenty of time, and in the end he asked me whether or not I would have breakfast. I also forgot to tell you about the breakfast venue.
So when I checked out, I avoided him and asked a black woman to help me, but she asked me to pay an additional fee that I didn't know about. End of asking for help. It seems that the front staff lacks training.
There is no toothpaste set, and the amenities are minimal, such as shampoo. The Nespresso in the room worked properly and I was able to drink coffee.
The room felt clean. The air conditioner in the room was made by Daikin, a Japanese manufacturer, and the room temperature was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was weak, but the shower room was clean and there was hot water.
The location is 8 minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station, making it very convenient for traveling and sightseeing.
Also, this is an advantage for men, but even though the hotel is not in the red-light district, there are more than 10 red-light windows near the back streets, so you can enjoy it.

WWojianqingshanduowumeiXiao 🍠 I saw that Am Rosewood just opened on May 1, 25th, so I must come and experience it. The decoration belongs to the new European style, and girls must love it. The room floor is very high, although the area is not large, but it is more comfortable to live, and there is a bathtub to relieve the fatigue of a day of citywalk. Breakfast is a form of order, not a buffet, there are few choices. The younger brothers and sisters at the front desk, concierge, and restaurant are warm and thoughtful, and the value is high. It was a wonderful time.

TTeacher HarryTo check in or drop off baggage prior to check in, it is required that everyone climb thirty-seven (37) of the steepest, narrowest, and most treacherous stairs I’ve ever seen in my life.
No elevators.
This place is located in the tourist district, near shops, restaurants, and the famous scenic canals of Amsterdam.
