4-night stay for vacation in N.O. This hotel sits on the fringe between the business district’s finest hotels and a less-attractive part of downtown, and as long as a guest directs their travels toward the river, they’ll be fine. At check-in, I specifically requested a room that wasn’t near an elevator or ice machine (light sleeper), only to discover I’d been assigned a room next to an ice machine. The lady at the front desk was very polite and understanding of my concern and promptly re-assigned me to the appropriate room. Altogether, the hotel staff was outstanding at responding to requests and very polite! The room was spacious and aside from the carpeting, met my standards of cleanliness. Asking the housekeeping staff to re-vacuum the carpeted area didn’t seem to make any difference, which leads me conclude they might need to invest in new/better equipment. Lots of hair and lint/threads left behind. Breakfast was good. Wi-fi was also good when it was working (not the case during the last night of my stay.) Riding the elevators requires a lot of patience/waiting - very slow moving for a six-story building and oddly, there’s no other way to access the lower floors (fire stairs only lead to an exit from the building.) Overall, it’s a good enough hotel for me to come back and stay again for the right price.
