Carpediem Assisi Living Club

I will start with; we are from America and this was not only our first trip to Italy, but this was our first accommodation. The overall experience was fair, but not great. We liked the area, gorgeous views; not from our room, but the location in the mountains outside of Assisi. This is how it got a fair. The check-in was easy. The staff were all excellent and spoke Italian and English. They tried to accommodate when possible. Grazie mille to the staff. The room FRESIA was as expected in the photos. Though the shower was so small my shoulders hit the side walls. The sink was huge and in your face when you sit on the toilet. The bed was not comfortable. There was a kitchenette and refrigerator, no microwave. Be prepared to drive to Assisi for most needs, food and extra toiletries/sundries. Our view was of the back of the property, a hillside, pretty vegetation but not a vast view of the open mountains and surreal villas and vineyards to the south. NO WiFi in rooms, just in the game room and lobby. So if you're international and don't have a good mobile plan, you'll spend time walking back and forth to get connected. Plan wisely. The property is just OK. The website paints a different picture than our experience. The website accentuates the game room, gym, laundry room, tennis court, pool, and beautiful views. I'll start with, there is no gym! One of the things I look for when I book a trip. The tennis court and whatever else it was supposed to be was rundown and dilapidated. The laundry was, 4 EU to wash and 1.5 EU to dry. We didn't stay long enough to use…even though we booked Saturday to Saturday. We left on Thursday morning. The pool as advertised was closed for the season; however, it was not just closed, it was in bad repair. Doubtful it could hold water. Part of the property is under construction but not noisy because it appeared to have stopped progressing. Very disappointed with the amenities, but they do keep the grounds clean. In the end, this property is not ready for RCI standards and should be reevaluated or brought up to better standards. Lastly, you'll drive a Mountainous road to get there. The driveway pavement leading up to the main rentals is in bad repair. If it snows, road conditions will be harsh, so choose you're season.

Property itself was satisfactory. Apartment was reasonably well-appointed, although the need to have to buy coffee pods from resort desk to fit coffee maker was a real annoyance. Times for grounds maintenance while we were there spoiled 2 meals we had hoped to eat outside. Neither of the 2 closest restaurants were places we would choose to return to. Apartment location is close to scenic views.

This property does not have internet in the rooms and does not insist on customer satisfaction. It seems to make minimal maintenance investments and not a penny more. Try another place- there are so many excellent ones in the area.

The one good thing going for this resort is its close proximity to Assisi however, you will require a car. The resort and units themselves though are tired and would benefit from a major refurbishment program to bring the standard and quality up to date. The units are small, the shower is especially small and which had black mould in places around the shower tray and on the wall. The saving grace of the resort is that the staff and friendly and helpful. Pesrsonally I would find it difficult to recommend to others when there are so many other resorts of a much higher standard where you can stay in Umbria.

No WiFi. Only available in common area of offices. But not reliable. Only offered entertainment was TV. But channel selection is limited. Should consider international clients. Management not responsive to our problem with laundry room. Clothes Drier burned out clothes. Machine caught fire. We reported immediately since 12/20/2023. We requested payment for our damaged clothing. We submitted proof. To this date, we await response. Our emails have been read but no reply.

There weren't many resort amenities (i.e. the pool was closed for the season) at the time we went, yet they still charged us the resort fee. There was also a lot of construction going on. It is pretty far from town and we didn't have a car, so we used the shuttle service which was great but wish they ran it more frequently as we were often stuck in town for longer than we wanted. Our unit was clean and well equipped.

The resort is a little dated but a very spacious main bedroom and quaint living room. Mini-fridge but a nice stove-oven. Nice porch with a Mountain View. Staff was extremely helpful and coffee and croissants in the lounge were nice while using the Wi-Fi

Very relaxing, although would have preferred at least one English channel on TV,and internet in the room. Kept Very clean,very pleasant staff. Have hip issues so did not care for having to climb 3 sets of stairs to get to room. Highly recommend speaking with Federica at the front desk. She was very pleasant and helpful in all aspects of our stay. Overall it was very nice, and the view was incredible.

Pretty location, no real WiFi, no phone coverage, taxis charge anywhere from 20-40 Euros for the same trip. Town shuts down by 9. Pretty and a nice place if you want to be completely unavailable and experience the resort experience from your grandmother's days.
