Hotels in Syntagma, Athens

Travelling solo for the first time I was apprehensive and after reading some of the reviews this added to my angst. However on arrival I was warmly greeted and throughout my 5day stay the lovely reception staff couldn't have been more helpful! The hotel, although not situated in the most appealing of areas, is lovely, very clean and has everything you need during your stay. The area isn't the best, however is up and coming and is that of any city centre. Keeping your wits about you and being aware of your surroundings is the best advice I can give! Even in the main Monastiraki Square, you need to be very much aware! I loved my stay and would very much recommend this hotel as I felt very safe here. Walking into the main areas I would advise to walk to the National Archeological Museum and then travel by bus(or walk) to the other areas as this is the way I personally felt safest. The sightseeing buses are the best way to see the city and it's great hopping on/off wherever you wish. I would definitely recommend Plaka as a place to visit-very beautiful and has great places to eat! Taxi drivers can try to con you and charge 4 times the amount for a 5€ journey from Monastiraki SQ to the hotel so be wary of this and agree fares before getting in! All in all a great hotel to stay at and if travelling with 2 or more I'm sure walking back to the hotel at night is fine - I just personally didnt feel safe doing this! I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

The breakfast is good, with rich variety and good quality. We were on a trip with my kid, so I booked a triple room. The room and the bathroom are small, and only the balcony is relatively big. The bath water is quite big, which is not bad.

The hotel is very close to the train station and the metro station. It was an old hotel but with booking channel 27.90 Euro was not bad for such a accommodation. My room was clean, my bed was comfortable. I have TV and wifi. I have a refrigerator, but this time the breakfast came a little weak. Some things have been reduced. I'll probably take breakfast next. It's an ideal hotel for short stay.

This is an inexpensive hotel but by that I don't mean cheap! The rooms are adequate with what you need for your stay including a lift but that is quite small and I'm not sure you'd get a full size wheelchair in it. The location is great, just 100m from a main station and metro at Larrissa which is good for the main city sites or airport links, plus has a good taxi rank too. We walked to the acropolis. It's about 30min from Piraeus harbour. The staff were all very friendly even though we arrived at 4am, and always eager to help. We stayed here twice and would again.

Set less than 1 km from National Archaeological Museum of Athens, a 11-minute walk from National Theatre of Greece and 1.2 km from Omonia Square, WSD Hera Athina Train Station Apartment offers accommodation situated in Athens. It is located 600 metres from Larissis Railway Station and provides free WiFi plus a lift. Monastiraki Railway Station is 2 km from the apartment and Monastiraki Metro Station is 2.3 km away. Each unit is fitted with air conditioning, a private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen including an oven, fridge and a stovetop. The units are equipped with heating facilities. Popular points of interest near the apartment include Omonia Metro Station, University of Athens - Central Building and Monastiraki Square. The nearest airport is Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, 28 km from WSD Hera Athina Train Station Apartment.

Excellent experience: balcony, room cleaned regularly, reception staff polite (Stefan is really friendly and gives good advice about Athens). This is a great hotel for mid- budget in Athens, right opposite Larissa train station which gets you to syntagma & acropolis in 15 mins. Also the bathrooms are fine - clean & hot showers. Saw people moaning about them in reviews unnecessarily- so what they look a bit retro, for the price this place is brilliant! Room is lovely and air con works a treat. Will definitely stay here again 👍

Points of strength: - Hotel very close to the metro. Type 200m from Larissa Station. That is 4 stops from Syntagma and 5 from Acropolis - 24-hour open reception, very comfortable in case of air delays. We arrived at 2 p.m. in the hotel and checked in without problems - Beautiful roof terrace x continental breakfast with some Greek specialities. Possibility to consume inside (air conditioned) or outside on the adjacent balcony - Hotel manager gentle. We moved on the booking (when we booked we chose the non-refundable) without any penalty x come to meet us since we had cancelled the plane and we had to postpone the departure for weeks

Ficamos nesse hotel no nosso último dia de viagem à Grécia, depois de retornar de Santorini e Creta. Resolvemos ficar uma noite a mais em Atenas antes de voltar ao Brasil, para diminuir a correria, já tendo ficado outros dias em Atenas semanas antes, em outra hospedagem. Dessa vez optamos pelo Alekos para aproveitar e conhecer outra região da cidade. Foi interessante conhecer outro pedaço de Atenas, mas não sei se voltaria a me hospedar aqui. Relato os motivos a seguir. Primeiro, se você está vindo a Atenas pela primeira vez, é melhor se hospedar na região de Plaka/Monastiraki/Praça Syntagma. Facilita o turismo por diminuir as distâncias a pé. A partir do Alekos ir a pé para os locais é um pouco mais distante e mesmo a estação de metrô mais próxima está a uns 500 metros ou até mais que isso. O Alekos não possui uma recepção propriamente dita, parece mais um apart hotel, mas com um senhor que dá apoio quase constante no que tange a checkin e outros serviços do hotel. Ele costuma ficar em horário comercial nas dependências do hotel e mantém contato por whatsapp e telefone. Às vezes até demais. Ele nos encaminhou todas as informações previamente por texto, até aí tudo bem. Pouco antes de chegar no hotel, entrou em contato por voz para repassar todas as mesmas informações que já tinha enviado por escrito. Tivemos um pouco de dificuldade com o sotaque, mas ok. Só achei desnecessário. Chegando no quarto, há um documento contendo todas as senhas de wifi que atendem os pavimentos. A nossa não funcionava. Nem a do quarto ao lado. Consegui login numa senha que atende o andar de cima. O administrador insistiu que a nossa senha estava correta, e que a do quarto ao lado realmente precisava de correção, informando assim a senha certa. Resolvi por conta própria reiniciar o roteador do nosso apartamento, e a do nosso voltou a funcionar. Na manhã seguinte, o administrador foi pessoalmente bater a campainha do nosso quarto perguntar se estava tudo bem, se estávamos gostando do quarto e se precisávamos de mais algo. Sei que a intenção é a melhor, mas achei que nesse momento a proatividade já estava atrapalhando, pra não dizer um pouco invasivo. Abreviei a interação e disse que não precisávamos de mais nada. Sobre o quarto. É amplo, com cozinha completa e utensílios. Tem mesa, sofá e cama satisfatórios. Os travesseiros são bem baixinhos mas eu pessoalmente gosto. Há tábua e ferro de passar à disposição. O quarto tem uma televisão que é pequena demais para a distância da cama, fica muito difícil ler as legendas. O problema maior é o banheiro. Apesar de fornecer produtos de higiente, o ”chuveiro” é naquele esquema de ducha removível que você pendura na parede e usa dessa forma. Só que há duas questões: a pressão da água é ridícula, muito fraca mesmo, e o suporte onde se pendura a ducha foi instalado numa altura totalmente inadequada. Talvez pessoas de 1,50m de altura consigam tomar banho ali. Nem sou tão alto assim (1,70) e tive de flexionar os joelhos em posiç

Excellent location. Walking distance to all attractions, if you are a walker. Wonderful staff, very polite and helpful. Elevator a little slow :) but it gets you to the floor requested. The room is big and bed very comfortable. Everything was in perfect working order (and we even got to watch one game from the world cup!!). House was in everyday to make the room. Shower very large and grsate water pressure! I didn't like the breakfat, but it was just me. My wife called me ”spoiled” :) Thank you for accomodating us!

THE HOTEL IS LOCATED IN AN EXCELLENT LOCATION IN KARAISKAKI SQUARE, CLOSE TO TRANSPORTATION (METRO, BUS, TAXI). VERY NEAR THE AREA OF PSYRI, MONASTIRAKI, CENTER. REGARDING SERVICE: negatively 1. ORIGINALLY, WE WERE GIVEN A ROOM WITH A SIDE VIEW OF THE ACROPOLIS. AFTER I NOTICED THEM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD FIX IT BY THE AFTERNOON, THIS WAS ONLY AFTER MY REPEATED CALLS TO THE RECEPTION. THE NEW ROOM WAS WITH AN EXCELLENT VIEW OF THE ACROPOLIS OF ATHENS - JUST AS I PAID FOR. 2. THE FIRST ROOM WE GOT HAD A ”BLOWN” BATHROOM DOOR WHICH WOULD NOT CLOSE. 3. THE CLEANLINESS OF THE FLOOR WAS UNACCEPTABLE, WITH A LOT OF FLUFF, WHICH WASN'T PICKED UP ANY OF THE FOLLOWING DAYS. POSITIVE 1. THE DIRECT SERVICE OF THE RECEPTION TO THE ROOM QUESTION THAT ARISED IN THE AFTERNOON. 2. THE FRIENDLY SERVICE OF ALL THE STAFF AT BREAKFAST 3. LARGE VARIETY OF BREAKFAST FIXTURES 4. COFFEE MACHINE WITH CAPSULES, IRON IN ROOM
