Guest UserOn this business trip to Guizhou, I arrived early and decided to visit Huangguoshu Waterfall. It was my first time staying at the Orange Hotel, and it exceeded my expectations by a mile! The hotel's interior was spotless, and the facilities were excellent. They even had the hot water kettle plugged in and ready to use, which was super convenient. The hotel offers a private shuttle service, and they'll take you whenever you're ready, even if you're the only passenger, which was a fantastic experience. From now on, the Orange Hotel will be my first choice!

Guest UserAt the beginning of the month, my travel companion, “Peking Duck” (my child), and I explored four small cities in Guizhou – Guiyang, Anshun, Bijie, and Xingyi. We thoroughly experienced the karst landscapes, caves, waterfalls, and pastoral scenery, all in a comfortably cool climate. Here's a comprehensive guide to share with everyone!
⭕️ Guizhou Geological Museum (reservations required, closed on Mondays, last admission at 4 PM): You can book a guided tour with fossil restoration activities, which is very interesting.
⭕️ Qingyun Market: A great place to eat and explore (definitely try Guiyang's Sour Soup Hotpot – the flavor is unique compared to other regions).
⭕️ Yelang Valley (watch Nuo opera, two shows daily: 12:00-12:30 PM and 3:00-3:30 PM. Kids who enjoy crafts can try plant carving).
⭕️ I personally don't recommend Zhijin Cave for families with young children or the elderly! However, Zhijin Grand Canyon is highly recommended. Enter via the elevator, and the entire route is a downhill walk, making it very lazy-friendly. The scenic beauty is truly impressive and worth a visit!
⭕️ Guizhou Guanling National Fossil Group Geological Park (the fossil digging area is open, but the museum area will open in late July).
⭕️ Huangguoshu Waterfall (‼️ Water Curtain Cave requires reservations and raincoats are a must!). For a lazy-friendly approach: take the round-trip elevator and capture a panoramic shot from above. If you're not up for a lot of walking, you can skip Tianxing Bridge; seeing the main waterfall is breathtaking enough! And a shout-out to the park staff – every restroom is spotless, some even have toilet seat covers!
⭕️ Fenglin Buyi (consider going in the evening when the lights are on – the scenery is even more beautiful. You can experience Buyi culture, songs and dances, iron flower performances, and other unique shows. There are many fun NPC mini-games in the scenic area. Watching the iron flower show from a boat offers a more direct and spectacular view).
⭕️ Kids will absolutely love a full day at Wanfenglin! Fishing, mini-train rides, woodworking, tie-dyeing, fruit picking, making Ciba (sticky rice cakes), and so much more – they'll never want to leave! When they get tired, relaxing at a popular cafe is pure bliss!
⭕️ Maling River Canyon (known as 'the most beautiful scar on Earth.' The scenic area closes at 5:30 PM. For an aerial view, navigate to 'Maling River Canyon Parking Lot 2').
Tips:
‼️ Guizhou attractions can be physically demanding. If you're traveling with children and have limited stamina, opt for lazy-friendly routes.
‼️ Mornings and evenings are cool, but it can be quite sunny during other times, so bring plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
‼️ Some attractions require advance reservations, so plan your itinerary accordingly!
‼️ Bring raincoats for Maling River and Huangguoshu, and wear non-slip shoes.
‼️ For Zhijin Cave, avoid wearing long pants or white shoes as it can get muddy! The cave temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius, so bring a jacket.
Among the hotels we stayed at, 'Peking Duck' loved the Huangguoshu Kaiyuan Manju Hotel the most. It offers many parent-child activities, new facilities, and delicious dining!
We enjoyed a cool summer with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius throughout our trip, without any high-intensity rushing. We experienced city life, majestic gorges and waterfalls, underground marvels, pastoral peak forests, and ethnic minority customs all at once. The best classroom is always on the road; what you see with your own eyes is far more memorable than what you read in books. It’s time to get out there with the kids!

Guest UserThis trip, I brought my parents along for a long-awaited visit to Huangguoshu Waterfall. To avoid them getting too tired, I decided to book an extra day to explore at a leisurely pace. The hotel's location, right next to the scenic area, immediately caught my eye when I was searching for accommodation. I loved its resort-style vibe, and the reviews mentioned a rich breakfast spread. Plus, they offered shuttle services to and from the station and the scenic area, all at a reasonable price, so I booked it right away.
As soon as we arrived at the Huangguoshu scenic area, the hotel's front desk staff arranged for a driver to pick us up. Everyone was incredibly polite, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. It truly lives up to the standards of a resort hotel; I was genuinely impressed by the room's view and its spaciousness. All the amenities were also very comprehensive. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with some noodle dishes incorporating local specialties, allowing me to get a taste of the local sour soup noodles since I didn't have time to venture out for food. A big thank you to the front desk lady who also gave us a ride to the scenic area!

This guest house is about 10 mins (1km) walk from Huangguoshu ticket office/public coach terminal stop. So if you are travelling light, it's ok. Otherwise, it could be a bit incovenience. You may find the neighbourhood not that appealing, but it's convenient to find restaurants around.
The place is really spacious, clean and tidy. I slept well while staying there. The girl at the reception is very helpful and friendly. Dont get put off by its location. It's worth to stay.

BelindayuanHuangguoshu Muye Fairy Tale Homestay Highly Recommended (approx. 300 words)
The most delightful surprise of my Huangguoshu trip was staying at the Muye Fairy Tale Homestay. The entire trip was incredibly enjoyable, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone visiting Huangguoshu!
The homestay has its own small zoo area where gentle, adorable rabbits are everywhere, and you can easily reach out and pet them. The deer aren't afraid of strangers and will even approach to interact with you. There are also gentle ponies, lambs, and donkeys that are quiet and well-behaved. The children played there so much they didn't want to leave; it was incredibly therapeutic.
The food completely exceeded my expectations. You absolutely must try the signature hot pot; it's authentic, flavorful, and incredibly fragrant. Besides the hot pot, the other home-style dishes were also delicious. The boiled pork and tiger-skin green peppers were made with generous portions of high-quality ingredients, making for a very satisfying meal.
In the evening, sitting in the courtyard enjoying the breeze, and looking up at night, you're greeted by a sky full of dazzling stars. Without the distractions of city lights, it's tranquil and romantic. The staff were attentive and considerate, patiently answering all my questions before and after my check-in, and responding promptly to any needs with a gentle and thoughtful attitude.
The guesthouse is clean and tidy with a lovely atmosphere. You can get close to animals, enjoy local delicacies, and be accompanied by a stunning starry sky at night. It's suitable for family trips or groups of friends, offering excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit Huangguoshu. Highly recommended!

Maerdini99Traveling during the summer, the hotel's location is excellent, just 300 meters from Huangguoshu Waterfall Visitor Center No. 3. The facilities are new, and there's free underground parking with charging stations. The new two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite is perfect for families. Breakfast was also good; we ate at 7 AM and then strolled straight to the scenic area, directly to the main waterfall, and it wasn't crowded at all. Overall, the service was on point, and the price was reasonable.

Hotel is in a great location within the scenic reserve. It is around 360m from the VIP station if you decide to purchase the 3 day VIP tickets which was the best decision we’ve made: no bus queues and exclusive stops, routes and exemptions. Only 100m from the hotel affords you a great view of the Huangguoshu waterfall, continue on a bit further you get various viewpoints which are increasingly amazing. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

Guest UserBooked two rooms! Highly recommend ~ comfortable rooms, attentive service, and a convenient location! We had a lot of luggage from our road trip, and they thoughtfully helped us load it into the car. You should try the tea in the hotel lobby, it's delicious. They even refilled our hot water kettle, which was very much appreciated ~ The location near the scenic area is also super convenient ~ there's a VIP service that picks you up and drops you off at the hotel! Walking to the nearby Zangxiangge restaurant for a meal is also a great option!

Guest UserTraveling with my parents and child, we opted for the family twin room on the second floor, which was much drier than the ground floor. Since there's no elevator, the staff kindly helped us with our luggage, and their service was excellent.
On the day of check-in, the front desk proactively informed us about the quick access to the Grand Waterfall. As we were short on time, we just dropped off our luggage and headed straight to the waterfall. I must say, it was incredibly convenient; if we had stayed outside the scenic area, we probably wouldn't have made it that afternoon or would have finished quite late.
The restaurant also didn't require advance reservations. We just ordered after returning from the Grand Waterfall. For a restaurant within a scenic area, the food tasted surprisingly good. Do remember that the express通道 closes at 6:30 PM, so keep an eye on your return time. The Water Curtain Cave requires advance booking, and you won't be able to get in if you try to book on the same day. We had booked ahead, and it went very smoothly.
The service was outstanding. At one point, I wanted to buy milk for my child, but the hotel car wasn't available. The front desk staff even offered to have a colleague help us get it, but we didn't want to trouble anyone and ended up not buying it.
For our return journey, we went directly from Tianxing Bridge to the Beer Plaza to catch our ride. The hotel even delivered our luggage directly to the Beer Plaza, which was fantastic.
Visiting during the off-peak season (not summer), staying inside the scenic area, and without purchasing VIP tickets, we still had a wonderful time. Highly recommended. The hotel was also running a travel photography event recently, offering three retouched photos. The photography was great, and there was no pressure to buy additional photos; even when we didn't, their attitude remained excellent.
For those traveling with elderly parents or children, staying within the scenic area is definitely more convenient. I highly recommend Qianshouju.
