Hotel Pharos

Hotel Pharos fully deserves its 3-star rating and has many advantages. The hotel consists of two parts; we stayed in the newer one, and the comfort level was very good. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels were changed regularly. The food was tasty, served warm, and replenished when needed. The hotel offers an all-inclusive light option, which includes three meals a day. The selection is not very large, but everyone can find something for themselves. As for fruit, only watermelon was available, and there was one type of cake for dessert. With lunch and dinner, alcoholic drinks included wine (three types) or beer. A very pleasant aspect was having meals among mandarin and olive trees, which created a lovely atmosphere. The swimming pool was clean and sufficient in size, and there was no competition for sun loungers. The location is excellent — Bar is a great base for exploring the area. You can easily organize trips on your own or book boat excursions locally. The beach is about 800 meters away, roughly a 15-minute walk. It is a pebble beach, but the water is quite dirty. I strongly recommend visiting a small, quiet pebble beach with clear water (Small Beach, about 2.5 km away). Sun loungers on the beach are paid. Unfortunately, the nearby beach is the weakest point of this hotel. Overall, I recommend the hotel and have very good memories of my stay. The housekeeping staff deserves special recognition — the ladies are extremely kind and warm. The owners, however, are rather unsmiling.

Bait & switch rooms and sketchy buffet makes this one of the poorest hotels I’ve been at in many, many years. We reserved here because it was a recommended choice of travel firm Rainbow, so felt that it would be minimally acceptable, at least. Room was supposed to be with a terrace or balcony and double bed. Instead, we were sent to a small room in the “old building” with no outside sitting area and two small, Eastern European separate twin beds. When we complained, we were told they were full, i.e., overbooked, and that maybe we’d have a room like we’d booked in two days. We called the local Rainbow agent who called the hotel, told us our booked room was unavailable for “technical reasons,” and offered no compensation or other options. Strongly recommend against staying here.

Horrible! There is no rest here. At 7:00 in the restaurant on the 1st floor they turn on the music and it beats all day until the restaurant closes. Youth sports teams that are not familiar with the norms of behavior in hotels also like to settle here. They absolutely blame the neighbors, they behave very noisy. If you want peace, this is not the place for you.p
