"Very easy checked in and out. Hotel is very near to the Newcastle Central train station and attractions. Although encountering small issues with the room air conditioner, the issue was fast being resolved and the staff in charged was very kind to give us the breakfast as a token of compensation. All the staff are friendly and a hotel to stay when you’re here in Newcastle."

What really stood out was the service — the staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. Every interaction felt effortless and well cared for.
With its excellent location, high-quality amenities, and outstanding hospitality, Dakota Newcastle is a hotel we absolutely loved and would highly recommend. We would gladly return again in the future.

HHuantiandinghudelangmanThe facilities are relatively new, but there's no main light in the bedroom, making it very dim at night. The bathroom is quite spacious, but lacks heating. The shower has great water pressure, which is a plus. There's a mini-fridge with two complimentary bottles of water, and you can ask the front desk for more if needed.
The cleanliness was generally acceptable.
The hotel's location is close to the train station. You can faintly hear the train from the room, but it wasn't a major issue. It's an 8-minute walk from the train station to the hotel, but you have to go around the front of the station to get to the back where the hotel is situated. This can be a bit challenging if you have heavy luggage, as the path isn't entirely flat and requires some effort.
For service, the front desk offers luggage storage. However, there was only one person at the front desk during check-in, so I had to wait for quite a while.

GGuest UserRoom was very tired. This use to be a lovely hotel but now, from our recent experience, it’s very much fur coat and no knickers. Lovely reception bar and dinning areas but our room was definitely not what Hilton use to stand for. Our room was very very tired. The wood work was all chipped and looking shabby, the pleather head board had numerous bare/worn areas and there was mould in the bathroom. Not sure if all rooms have these issues our just the ones you get if booked through trip.com.

GGuest UserWe booked this hotel for its location near to both the railway station and Utilita Arena and it was perfect. Staff friendly, breakfast included. One point to note re parking which isn’t free (you only get 15 mins free to check in) - parking is in the Grainger Town car park and cost us about £30 for less than 2 days. Double beds are quite small but otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

GGuest UserThe room was very spacious, with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. It was clean and tidy, and the shower had good water pressure. The front desk staff were enthusiastic and helpful. It's only a 5-minute walk to the train station. However, the front desk didn't hand over my passport when I checked in, which caused some delays during check-out the next morning.

TThe mighty BantamWe had booked a junior suite. On arrival we were greeted warmly and efficiently checked in. We were given our key and told we were in room 118. We were told that we had to go up one floor in the lift and then backdown the stairs as our room was in between floors. It was the only room at that level. Had I have known that I wouldn’t have booked it as I was travelling with my mum who is post surgery with a new hip, and stairs and luggage were a bit of a challenge. Anyway, once inside our suite was perfect. It consisted of a living/dining/kitchen room with a sofa, TV and pretty much a full kitchen, I.e Hob, fridge with an ice box, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom was made to feel a little small as the bed was absolutely huge, it also had a TV in there too. The bathroom was quite standard but spotlessly clean. The only gripe I had was there was only one electric heater and that was in the bedroom, so if you were cold I had to go into the bedroom. Would I stay there again…..yes but perhaps in a room that didn’t need to climb stairs.

GGuest UserLate check in, last minute booking, tge receptionist is the nicest lady ever! I felt very welcome and the hotel is beautiful, acoomodationg and the beds are so comfy! The room looked brand new!! I would gladly stay afain and its only a short taxi ride to tge airport.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located next to Newcastle Central station minutes from the Cathedral, the Castle, the centre of the city near Monument. The hotel entrance has a faded grandeur that isn't intimidating, more comfortably worn. The room was cosy with bathtub and shower. The WiFi was a little temperamental but works fine. A plus for me was the pool and spa facilities at the hotel. Nothing better than a swim to start the day. Excellent location and good value hotel.

GGuest UserThe room 515 was absolutely lovely inside to stay over but the taps were extremely hot in the sink and the plugs weren’t working properly as the sink kept jamming in and couldn’t hardly push it to release the water, that also includes the bath so it will need maintenance work so the water runs smoothly and plus you need to replace the bath plug as walked in to a damaged one, great facility’s but the room needs to be a little bit bigger and was expecting a room to not be in a corner.
