GGuest UserThe hotel's food is really delicious. We ate dinner, breakfast and lunch in the hotel and were very satisfied. The cost-effectiveness of the food is definitely much better than that in Shanghai!

AANASTASIIA_BERDNIKOVAThis hotel is a paradise in the mountains of Hakone! Traditional style of the rooms - it feels like you are living in a Japanese family. We were prepared a traditional dinner, which was served in our room. It was very tasty and varied! The hotel has 3 onsen: 2 - private, 1 - public. We visited only the private ones (you need to book a time in advance at the reception upon check-in, the visit time is 30 minutes). It was wonderful! The hotel also provides a transfer from and to the nearest train stations. The rooms are clean, cozy, we slept on tatami under soft blankets. The hotel has a relax room. With massage chairs and a very quiet atmosphere. We stayed in this room after visiting the onsen and got great relaxation. And you are also given national clothes for rest and sleep. It is very beautiful and cute. Breakfasts were also in kaiseki style - varied and unusual. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. this hotel allows tattoo baths. great experience, thank you very much! want to come back again!

MM34714****Location: Compared to a quick trip or city hopping, this place is much better suited for a leisurely vacation of a few days. The hotel offers a shuttle every 20 minutes to Moto-Hakone Port, and there are direct buses to Hakone-Yumoto Station and Shinjuku. For a relaxed journey, convenient transportation is guaranteed. Scenery: Outside the window, the shimmering Lake Ashi with pirate ships passing by, and Mount Fuji occasionally peeking through in the distance from the garden – it's truly beautiful! After a stroll in the garden, you can walk out of the hotel to a path. There's a small hotel pier, and a five-minute walk takes you to the perpetually crowded torii gate. Another ten-minute walk along the lake brings you to Moto-Hakone Port. Plenty of opportunities for walking and peaceful contemplation! In the morning, guests are offered complimentary coffee and tea. You can sit in the café, enjoy the scenery, and find some tranquility. Service and Dining: As a traditional Japanese hotel, the service is impeccable, and the property is meticulously maintained and spotless. The food quality is good, though not astonishing, but the menu is clearly very thoughtfully put together. The hotel's homemade plum wine is absolutely delicious! I really loved the traditional keys!!

KKunmingzi🏔️✨【Hakone Indigo Hotel: A Dreamlike Mountain Retreat】 This was my first stay at Hakone Gōra Indigo, and I was truly rejuvenated by the ambiance. The hotel is nestled in a hot spring resort surrounded by mountains; opening the window reveals layers of greenery and distant clouds and mist, as beautiful as a painting. The room design is modern yet elegantly Japanese, and the open-air onsen was fantastic. The spring water was smooth and comforting, instantly washing away a day's fatigue. Breakfast was also incredibly impressive, using fresh local ingredients; you could feel the attention to detail even in the bread and juice. The staff were friendly and attentive, with every greeting feeling warm, making you feel right at home. The overall experience exceeded expectations, and it's worth revisiting, whether you're a couple, a family, or a solo traveler. 💛 The only thing worth mentioning is that the in-room onsen water seemed to be completely diluted; you could even call it a 'fake' onsen. It lacked the typical onsen smell and was essentially just hot water.

WWendaoA wonderful experience at Asante Inn in Hakone This stay at Asante Inn in Hakone was full of surprises! The Japanese-style garden is full of Japanese Zen, and it is super beautiful to take pictures. The owner is enthusiastic and fluent in English. The African artworks in the store are unique and come from his African experience. The stories are super interesting. Staying in dorm, you will meet travelers from all over the world. The atmosphere is good, and the price is 1200 yen per night, which is very cost-effective. Breakfast and dinner are about 1200 yen, and they are delicious and authentic. You can also make an appointment for private time to soak in the hot springs, which is private and comfortable. There is also a luggage transportation service at Yumoto Station, which is super considerate. I sincerely recommend coming here to experience a different Hakone trip!

GGuest UserThe refrigerator in the room was very dirty. I felt sick after opening it and closed it immediately, so I don't know if it was dust or mold, but I think it would be a good idea to clean the inside of the refrigerator as well. The teapot that was placed right above the refrigerator also had tea leaves and water left on it, so I thought it might not have been washed, and I couldn't use it. Also, at dinner, a foreign staff member took my tea utensils without asking me. I wanted to drink tea after the hot spring, but I wish they had asked me before taking it down. Also, when I left, I didn't close the door, so I stood up and closed it myself. Other than the above three points, the hot spring facilities and the person who guided me to my room were very kind, so I had no complaints.

ZZunetOur trip so great! They provide everything for you including snacks and fresh set of pajamas every day. The included breakfast and dinner were marvelous as well. The public onsens were awesome. You just need to find a time to go when there are not too many people. We had our dinner during the second shift (at 8pm) so we went to the onsen first, showered, and then went to dinner, which worked out perfectly. The hotel is right next to the train station so it’s very convenient. Highly recommended!

Sstarriiesinteresting balinese onsen ryokan. service was great, i couldn’t take raw food and my husband is allergic to prawns and they took notice for it and didn’t serve them during our half board meals (breakfast and dinner). the onsen water is certified to be natural and we could read the details of the certification from both the hotel reception and room toilet. the private in room open air onsen’s temperature can be adjusted as well. however the room’s shower’s door was not completely sealed and we found it very chilly to bathe even tho there was hot water supplied as the constant cold air from outside would come in. hope the hotel can take note of this and seal up the showering area’s door completely to prevent air from exchanging during shower. it’s a jap-balinese fusion hotel, pretty interesting concept. we drove during our trip around hakone area and be ready to navigate through very small and narrow roads while driving to this ryokan haha. really very narrow roads. hotel also requested for us to pass them the car key when we returned to the hotel, and to pass them the hotel key when we are heading out, which we found to be a little weird to be honest.

Very Good
GGuest UserOverall an ok stay. A bit hard to find, very limited English spoken by the staff which led to some confusion (even for the representatives who were assigned to us by English speakers). Felt quite formal and not that warm Room was more or less as expected, and the dinner and breakfast meals were quite elaborate. Felt that breakfast was actually the stronger meal of the two, so wasn’t necessarily worth it to pay extra for dinner. I’d likely skip doing dinner in the future. The room attendant who helped us was very kind and attentive, although we had a bit of language barrier given we don’t speak Japanese. The big disappointment was even though the ryokan is advertised as allowing guests to book one of the larger hot springs on the property for private use for 45 minutes, we weren’t able to do this. We arrived within the designated check in time and were told that it was all booked up for the day. There was no way to book in advance and we were only staying for one night, and they didn’t try to accommodate allowing us to book at all for the next day before checkout. This really hampered the experience overall - we weren’t that interested in using the gender segregated facility (was traveling with my partner who is the opposite gender) as we wouldn’t be able to spend time together, and the tub in our room was quite small. They should amend this policy to allow all guests to book a private hot spring time or not advertise it as part of the room! Feels like we got cheated out of the service and we weren’t offered anything else as an alternative. I would have booked another ryokan had I known this were the case - there are many others in Hakone which are much better value and have nicer / newer private facilities for around the same price. I wouldn’t recommend Yama no Chaya given this was a big part of what we thought would make it a good experience
