Ideal for resting. Great staff: we had a problem with our reservation, as it was booked through another website, but the hotel still provided us with its best resources. Indoor pool, spa, balcony in the room and TV. Great Breakfast! Ideal para descansar. Staff ótimo: tivemos um problema com a nossa reserva, por ter sid reservada através de outro site, mas mesmo assim o hotel disponibilizou-nos os seus melhores recursos. Piscina interior, spa, varanda no quarto e tv. Excelente pequeno almoço!

From the moment you drive up the long driveway to Enigma, your first thoughts are that it’s a stunning hotel, an architect’s delight, with amazing views over the countryside. However there were some flaws of the hotel we noticed soon after entering the lobby. The hotel has so much potential to be more and do better than it was. Let me explain: No one was on the front desk at check in time and we were waiting for 10 minutes or so for someone to come greet us. The gentleman who did greet us was friendly and welcoming, however we found the whole service quite slow. There’s potential here to improve. The bedroom itself was large, with a good sized King Bed and a balcony with a view over the countryside. Some furnishings were a little dated and rusty however. There is potential to improve here. We visited the outdoor pool for the afternoon and this was nice, however the jacuzzi was closed and the pool itself seemed like it needed some better upkeep eg the pool ladder wasn’t properly secured and seemed broken. There’s potential to improve it here. We had a complimentary spa pass (via ******* VIP Rewards), but this wasn’t offered to us at check in, so we didn’t see the spa. Breakfast the next morning was underwhelming to say the least. There was fruit, cereals, a few bits of charcuterie and cooked food to choose from, but the food itself lacked flavour. Also the coffee was undrinkable. All in all, this hotel has plenty of potential to be something greater than it is already.

Hotel was clean and staff friendly and helpful. However, the location was in the middle of burned area of forest expanding over many square Km.

A lovely modern hotel with a beautiful outlook ( one must ignore recent bushfires) with large rooms overlooking the pool. Breakfast was excellent and included seeds and nuts for cereal. We ate dinner in the restaurant ( pre arranged) and had an excellent meal

A little off the beaten path but an amazing find. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The dinner was absolutely fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed finding this quiet private spot to relax by the pool and refresh.

So I’ll put to the back of my thoughts all of the burned trees… this is not the hotels fault. August… No chef , restaurant not open in the evening in a **** Hotel . Not acceptable. Pool bar not open during the day again , somethings not quite right. Lack of attention to detail, broken pool tiles , decking broken in spa, dead plant in pots . Questions need asking !

A unique place with good service and serene background. I would highly recommend it as this place is much different than the surrounding areas.

This lovely hotel in the rural area of coastal Alentejo has fallen into some disrepair and requires investments in maintenance to regain its 4-star rating. Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were not working. Cracks in plexiglass verandas etc
