Ideally located as a base to explore inner Istanul. We walked to most of the historical locations. The staff at the hotel were attentive and always on hand. Special mention to the Head Concierge Nuri Bilge. He quickly worked out what we could see by walking and drew a perfect map of all the locations to visit! Nuri also organised a sunset luxury boat trip for us, which was reasonably priced given the quality of service. Our thanks to him. The restaurants at the hotel are excellent, (though a little pricy) if you don't want to take a chance on the cheaper restaurants. Istanbul was not what we expected and so was a pleasure to explore for the 6 days we were there.

Great location near the famous Istiklal shopping street! Many restaurants , bars and shops nearby. The buffet was delicious with great variety. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed is a little bit hard but clean. The bathroom shower has 1/4 glass and no door so it’s quite annoying. Good hot water with complete toiletries. One night the room smelled like cigarette smoke. I assume it came from the ac (centralized). Seems that they are aware of it as they were ready with a fragrance kit. You might also hear soft noise from the nearby bars .

If this hotel just has a history, that's not enough. Hardly any service. I booked different rooms for two nights and all included welcome fruits, but they were not delivered proactively once. They were all reluctantly delivered after calling. The concierge at the door has a big difference between Asian faces and Caucasian faces. There were several elderly Japanese couples and several tables of white couples at breakfast. They always serve white faces first (greeted with smiles) and then Asians, which makes me feel really uncomfortable. It is a pity that such a hotel with such a historical story has such unsatisfactory service. I will not choose it again next time.

The greatest happiness in rainy days is to walk into a dry and warm room. This is my first hotel in Istanbul. Fortunately, it was arranged on the highest floor, which of course means the best scenery.   Soho house is a small high-end hotel chain that originated in the UK. It is a new style hotel without a porter. Their aim is to let the guests feel the same feeling at home.   The interior design of the cool and retro is enriched to the toiletries that are more than the home. The radio station in the room sound during the stay, all the details reflect the taste and service style of the hotel. The little brother who took me around the gym (professional high-end gym) said that Soho House is a very human company, and men working in their hotels can have a beard. Haha, I only reacted as if I had never seen a man with a beard in another hotel. He also taught me a few Turkish words and recommended a few places worth going. Although I didn't make it in the end, at least we had a very good day.

Arrived last Friday evening, nice welcome, was informed I had to pay for my room, I had pre-paid, which on inspection, it was agreed I didn't have to pay again.... Dinner on Friday night was exquisite, fabulous service, amazing food, expensive but worth it, the restaurant and rooftop bar are independent of the hotel. Saturday morning, went for a lovely breakfast, back to the room and realised my room door did not lock, informed reception, and a gentleman arrived shortly afterward to check the door. Firstly he said it was my key card that was at fault. When I asked if I could show him the issue, he rolled his eyes and said no. When he did allow me to demonstrate, he walked away from me saying it was technical. I had to call after him to see if it would be fixed, he did not turn around but walking away said, ten minutes. the door was fixed eventually but the whole episode took around an hour. Before I left the hotel (11:20am) I dropped a dress at reception to be pressed. I got back to the hotel just before 9pm, went to my room, no dress, down at reception i asked where it was, the gentleman on reception called the laundry service, and at the end of the call, I had to ask what was happening. I was told laundry would call him back. He then asked what I had left, colour etc. so it could have been in the laundry in a sister hotel, I would get it on Sunday. I explained I was leaving on Sunday and needed the dress now, if it hadn't been ironed yet, to just return it to me.

I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

Impolit chef in kitchen who is very crazy shouting on people always prepare the tastless food that you can take only one plate. They don't have open buffet.The receptionist is impolite. This hotel stay was very good. The breakfast was amazing. Very large spread of food items to choose. Every day they change some items. Everyone enjoys the breakfasts. Families and friends. Staff at breakfast service are excellent. Overall good service. If any issues just call the reception and they will try best to assist. We chose this hotel because is was good prices during the peak july summer month. It also has fitness centre. We also were careful to choose room with shower alone and not bathtub. Also, the hotel was very good on booking.com chat. They answered all my questions on the chat. Perfect location near to taksim and istiklal walking street. Many nearby restaurants and supermarkets open till late night. Not boring area. Booked again for an august stay. Thank you Nippon Team. See you soon.

Martin Hotel is located in the hustle and bustle of the Taksim bars and restaurant area, if your looking for a convenient place to stay this is it. However, if you are a light sleeper, be prepared to have have music going on until 3am. Service was correct and amicable and staff were on point. The room is clean and the air con works well as the room is very warm. Negative point: upon entry to the room I realized that the bathroom lights were not working. Two days later when I checked out they still were not working. Not a big deal but I’m sure others would have complained.

Not far from Taksim Square, very red next to it, various bars. The boss service is very warm. The front desk brother is very handsome and very interesting! On the last day in Turkey, let them help me book a Turkish bath, I want a male technician, but there are women. The little brother smiled and asked me ”what's your problem?”. lol. Chatted with him like a friend. I wish I could stay a little longer. I still felt a little reluctant when I was separated.
