This majestic building is steeped in history which really adds to the enjoyment of a stay there. We had 3 nights B&B with friends and also dined in on one evening. Food was excellent but the real standouts were the friendly, helpful staff. Not only did they help with all our holiday stay requirements they shared the story and history of the hotel - which is almost 150 years old. For an old hotel the owners have done a great job in maintaining the building and it was a warm, comfortable setting for an autumn break. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from an overnight stay. We had booked the suite ( coniston). Upon arrival we were quickly dealt with by reception. The hotel is running on a skeleton staff but all were helpful. Our suite wasnt ready but the happily stored our luggage so we could go into Blackpool and would call when it was ready which they did. The hotel itself is in a 10 min walk of the north pier and tower. From the outside it looks a little tired. The main door doesnt work and decor is dated. The suite however was very spacious. It stretched across 5 windows all tower facing with a great view. The only down side to this was the windows needed a good clean. The suite was modern and had 2 bathrooms a dining area a living area and bedroom. It was clean and tidy however there were noticable stains on the carpet and furniture which they had cleaned in the past. But overall was very pleasant. The bath was lovely nice and deep. We only paid 179 for the night when peak charge can be around 300 so i felt at this price it was worth it. The only thing that would of made it better and i would expect if paying top end would be a robe slippers and possible complimentary mini bar. The bed was very comfortable and the addition of a fan was welcomed. However no hairdryer! We didnt eat here as we ate at the beach house (highly recommended and it didnt dissapoint! )At this price point we would return again and plan to in the future.

One star is extremely generous for this hotel. BE AWARE, i paid through booking.com and when we got to the hotel they told me i needed to pay a “pre authorisation” charge for the same amount but that i would get it back in the next few days, guess what? Never did. I called them up and they said they don’t have my money barclays do. Another lie barclays confirmed and I had to open a dispute with them to which i eventually got my money back but double charging me then lying about it is unacceptable, funny how they “didn’t have my money” but gave it back as soon as barclays got involved…. Anyway. now i’ll get to the hotel, for a start we couldn’t park, there were so few spaces people had blocked each other in, we had to use a paid car park elsewhere. Inside the carpets are faded & tatty, there’s a sellotaped up window in the hall because it’s been smashed. The lock on our bathroom door was hanging off with screws sticking out so my partner had to push the screws back in, fortunately we didn’t have children to find those. The window didn’t have a handle as it had been ripped off so we couldn’t open that, in the evening we were recommended a takeaway for dinner which we ordered & i cannot believe that a hotel would be proud to recommend that, it wasn’t even edible but that’s another review. My advice would be to stay completely clear of this dire establishment.

I’ll start with the negative. Booked online months ago, and realised a week before that I had booked the wrong week. Having e mailed the online service they basically said tough!! However excellent staff on the phone helped me to resolve my issue. We had to upgrade rooms from twin rooms to double doubles. Check in was excellent and staff on reception were great. The three rooms were all on the same floor. They were very clean and the only negative would be that the bathrooms are a little tired looking and could do with a bit of tlc. Breakfast was good and Dot in the restaurant was so helpful, chatty and informative about the hotel, breakfast and Blackpool. We used the indoor and outdoor pool and facilities and it was all excellent. On the last night we ate in the pub bar. They serve until 10 which is a bonus and although I think the food is a little pricey it was really good and the service was spot on, again with really lovely staff. The location is by the Zoo and is a bus ride from the town centre. If there is only a couple of you buy the inclusive bus and tram tickets. If a few more (we were a group of six) it’s cheaper to get a cab (about £10). I like this hotel and currently what makes it a great place to stay is 100% the staff.

Nothing wrong with the hotel in general, but the PARKING IS £18 PER NIGHT!!!!! A TOTAL RIP-OFF!! No-one told us the parking was going to cost that much! All it said on the Trip.com website was paid parking, which you don't expect to be £18 per night!!!! Very disappointing and it spoiled our trip to Blackpool. Don't think we'll be back to this hotel!!

I really like this hotel, staff are brilliant and the full bottom of bottom is great. That’s where it does end though. House keeping continuously make the same errors that I have first hand found 3 years in a row. Dirty urine and blood stained bedding. Smelly and dirty stained towels being left. Areas within room not cleaned down between stays. Basic bed change and bathroom clean however wiping all surfaces and dusting etc isn’t always done. This could be improved by house keeping inspections. I was so disappointed that I returned after a bad experience on the promise of a return for 50% cost due to issues encountered last year to find the same issues we faced again. My children left urine and blood stained duvets and pillows with the covers. Disgusting. Well over an hour to be brought more , 3 children waiting to sleep whilst I am informed the staff member was sent on a wild goose chase to locate bedding - unsure of this but thanked the staff member as it’s not front reception staff fault at the end of the day. The view and location are great but without clean rooms and bedding not even a free stay is worth considering.

We stayed here for a cheap night away with our 8 year old, most hotels were more expensive and didnt offer much as in were very small no bar or entertainment. The bar was really big and had a sea view we had a few drinks before we went out for tea. There was a dancefloor and stage. Plenty of space for my son to play around whilst we had a drink. Tram stop right outside to the town. Room was very spacious yeh it wasn't the newest but with the price i wasn't expecting it to be. However it was clean and comfy. We had a Seaview room but had scaffolding outside our window so the window was quite dusty but that couldn't be helped. We didnt eat there however we walked past the breakfast buffet and everything looked lovely and i did look at the hygiene rating and its a 5 so. Check in was super fast and parking for the night was only £3. The hotel had a singer on and the kids were happy playing on the dancefloor so family friendly. There is also a pool which we didn't get chance to use but a great facility for the price. I would defo visit again

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, and were so pleased that we did. We had a gorgeous deluxe room, overlooking the marina. Unfortunately, my husband is allergic to feathers, and we didn't realise that feather duvet and pillows would be provided. Within 5 minutes of contacting Reception, housekeepers arrived to change the bedding. Nothing was too much trouble. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and pleasantly served, so I don't know why there were negative reviews on here about the food. When we checked out, the Receptionist said that we could keep our car there for a few more hours so that we could enjoy Southport for longer. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

GGordonWe were dissappointed in the car parking situation. It wasn't exactly made clear that you need to drive into where it was marked exit and press for them to lift the barrier. Then unfortunately there was no room so had to call into reception to find out where we could park it was a bit stressful and could have been avoided. The hotel itself is very secure as you need to press for access to the entrance. Once up to reception on the first floor we were welcomed and allocated a room. The room was very tired with marked and scratched walls and ceiling. The bathroom had all the ususl facilities but a great big crack was in the tiles on the floor about two and half feet long. The shower head was dirty and the bottom of the main door was peeling away. The bed was two single mattresses put together which were obviously well used and meant there was a bump in between which wasnt very comfy. The bar was expensive for drinks and the staff seemed to multitask serving and cleaning tables etc. Some of the same staff were at breakfast and it just felt a bit overall short staffed. The breakfast itself was adequate but basic. We did notify reception on checking out of our findings as we are not usually ones to complain but the issues do make a difference and some just general maintenance.

GGuest UserWe visited this place with friends, 5 of us, and got a great service for 5 people in 2 different rooms. We shared one toilet. We paid 118 quids for service which is quite nice for 5 people staying for a night. As we were visiting the Blackpool pleasure beach and carrying backpacks would have been difficult so we requested the hotel staff to keep our luggage while we checked out and were gone out for the entire day, and thankfully they agreed. All in all I loved the overall service, highly commendable.

GGuest UserWe arrived early but were able to park up and go exploring before coming back to check in. Car parking was just £5 a night so not going to grumble with that. On our first night we were the only guests and once we were checked in we were the only people in the whole building until breakfast which seemed strange but was t a problem. We were just told to call a number if we needed anything. The room itself was clean and a good size with a good comfortable bed which we slept pretty well in. The tv was a good size but it was hit or miss whether you could use streaming sites on it as the Wi-Fi was quite poor. For the majority of the stay I was unable to use my phone as the signal in the area was also terrible. We were in a good location but if we would definitively recommend getting the tram tickets as the nightlife is limited in the immediate area. There was nothing going on in the hotel and although the booking info didn’t promise anything, for a £100 a night you might expect a bit more. Facilities wise we had a kettle but only two small cups and no glasses. It was also a surprise not to have spoons, just throw away stirrers. The room was also quite warm and despite having the windows open for the whole of our stay it felt difficult to get air into it. Might be be being fussy but again for £100 a night I expected a bit more. The hosts were pleasant enough but we barely saw them. The lady we saw a little more of but mixed us up with other guests on occasions. Breakfast was not until 9am and if I’d read more reviews I would not have booked our stay. I don’t think it is unreasonable to start breakfast at 8am for example. The cereal tasted as if it had been in the dispenser a little longer than it should have been. With the cooked breakfast it was budget but tasted better than it looked. On the whole I’d say it was a nice stay but no more. I’ve stayed in much worse places, particularly in Blackpool but I would not book again. Some of my reasoning is down to personal choice as I think I’d rather stay somewhere that provides entertainment and more of the holiday experience which can be achieved for a similar price to what we paid.

GGuest UserI’ve rated Las Palmas a 5 mainly because the host/manager Jacob was really friendly and helpful. It’s a great location half way between the pleasure beach and the centre, walking places is a must as the parking situation in Blackpool in general is a nightmare. The room is basic but clean, has all you need, shower was always nice and hot. Downside was the mattress was a bit on the soft side and the Wi-Fi isn’t great. We were unable to find a decent cafe, stick to maccies or the Wetherspoons for breakfast as it turns out there far worse breakfasts around.:

GGuest UserWe booked our hotel through the website sea view rooms nothing like on website pages.Reception clean on entrance.Sea view rooms some are very small and very dated needs updating.Bed was comfortable and clean.Shower did not have any hot water at all morning or night left it running for 10 minutes still nothing. If you want extra tea and coffee towels you need to ask they don't give you any extra unless you ask for it .Informed the Manager there was **** and smoking in a few rooms adjoining and he said they will be gone soon they are at the festival on in Blackpool nothing was done about it.The smell was that strong it was coming in through the vents into your room from the bathroom. People shouting and banging doors till 3am in the morning ,not good when you are trying to sleep. If you are going to this hotel I would expect better from the management regarding the smoking and **** smell.I can only presume that they did nothing as they were residents in the hotel.

We had seen enough reviews to know what we were getting. Pay cheap, get cheap. It’s far from 5 star luxury of home but who really cares when it’s just for sticking your head down after a night out. Place is run down, still dated in the early 80s. Easily the best place in Blackpool for a cold shower and a solid throw back to the box room you stayed in at your mum and dads. Only major downside to the place is it’s absolutely covered in rangers stickers from when Hendrik Larsson was making a mockery of them and before their hilarious entrance into administration. If the hallways still stink of garlic bread, we can only apologise. Also, if you were the family we accidentally knocked up at 2-3am…. We apologise, however, we’re still looking for our mate scouse…
