Because I have some restrictions on my diet, the hotel can help adjust it, and will take the initiative to ask, I feel very good. The hot spring in the room is great, but for the adjustment of the hot spring water temperature, please do not refer to the instructions in the room, because the water from the faucet can only be added cold water, if the hot spring is not hot enough, please call the counter directly, someone will help adjust.
The location of the hotel is a climb away from the lively neighborhood. A mountain pepper curry oolong noodles around the hotel are very delicious and highly recommended! There are also some specialty shops around, which are much more interesting than the lively sightseeing street. ~
If you like a quiet environment, it is highly recommended!

Anonymous UserEverything was perfect in this hotel! Room is spacious and there are both indoor and outdoor private onsen in the room. The futon was the softest and most comfortable I’ve ever had in Japanese onsen hotels.
Dinner was amazing and breakfast was good enough. It would be better if we can choose Japanese or Western style for breakfast. We was looking for grilled fish or sth in Japanese style.
Will visit again definitely!

The hotel staff were pleasant and welcoming. They have separate communal onsens for men and women, plus three private onsens that require advance booking (one 50-minute slot per room per day). This isn't super convenient, especially since you probably won't spend more than half an hour actually *in* the spring. However, you're allowed to wear a swimsuit in the private onsens if you prefer. The hotel building is quite a distance from the station, but it's close enough to the lake, which is definitely worth seeing if you're visiting Yufuin. On the ground floor, there are vending machines where you can grab snacks, just in case you get hungry late at night (the hotel closes after 12:30 AM).

I stumbled upon this hotel by chance, and the experience was even better than what I read in reviews. Although none of the staff spoke foreign languages, they were all very enthusiastic and helpful.
They offer fresh milk in the morning, which was a lovely touch. The onsen is private, with only three tubs, so you have to reserve a spot to use them. Otherwise, you can just use the bath in your room. In the evening, there's a fun popcorn-making activity, perfect for after dinner.
I highly recommend this cozy little inn.

Guest UserI stayed in this beautiful place with my mom. The house is spotless clean, room is spacious and beds are so comfy. Enjoy the view and feel relax with private indoor onsen (also outdoor onsen). The owners are kind and friendly. Breakfast is simple but delicious. Overall i love this place. Perfect for people who wants to relax in quite vibes.
The location is a bit far from the major tourist spots but not too far from the station. But it might not be suitable with the elder people because it takes around 10 mins walk to the house and also rooms are on the 2nd floor.

Guest UserThe staff members were all very friendly and welcoming. The hotel overall was very cozy, particularly the onsens. Although all the four onsens were opened for all guests at the hotel, you can use one of them as long as you want because guests are instructed to hang a sign on the onsen to show that it is currently occupied. This is a great way for the guests to enjoy privacy to themselves, although it is opened publicly. Dinner and breakfast was included in the package so we did not have to worry about finding nearby restaurants. The food was delicious here! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy traditional Japanese meals to get the full experience. We had a private barbecue for dinner, and it was truly immaculate! However, there was smoke all over the hotel lobby coming from the barbecue so it would have been better if they kept the windows opened. It was also indoors so it was slightly overwhelming with all the smoke everywhere in the restaurant. But everything else was on point and breakfast was particularly delicious.

Facilities: A little old, very Japanese style, the room is a little small
Hygiene: Very clean! Very clean!
Environment: It is a hot spring hotel on the mountain, the environment is quite good, you can soak in the open-air hot spring in the room, it is perfect on snowy days
Service: Very good, the boss and the waiter have a high level of English, barrier-free communication
Breakfast and dinner are very rich, and the dishes will be introduced in English after serving. Since it is on the mountain, you can pick up and drop off back and forth, which is very good!

The hotel is conveniently located for travelers traveling without a car, about a 10-minute walk from the JR station and the express bus station, and very close to Yufuin Street. The hotel is very quiet, with each room offering its own private bathroom. The hotel also provides complimentary tea and beer, as well as onsen eggs. The staff were exceptionally friendly. I'd definitely stay at the same hotel again.

What a blast I had here!!!
I only stayed for one night and now I wish I had stayed longer. It was a Friday so Rio, the owner, organizes a night of games at the public gymnasium for teenagers (who although growing up already have the strength of super-powered samurais) and whoever else wants to participate. I haven't run and wake up with so many bruises since high school! It was really cool how everyone is quick to set the props for each game, we played 4 or 5 games in one hour!!!! It felt like a much longer time, everyone gave their best presence and participation all the time! It seems the other nights he takes everyone for a walk to see the stars, and Tuesdays there's also volleyball. Anyways, he is pretty proactive and creative , so I'm sure there's many variations and possibilities!
The living room is very pretty, the sofas super comfortable and the view gorgeous!
The bed was very hard :/ this was the only big issue for me.
The onsen is so cozy, the water super smooth and instrumental music playing. Delicious! The conditioner smells great!
I was a bit worried that they had too many rules, because when I contacted they informed about the need to leave the house everyday from 10 until 16. And that the eating time was very specific: 7:20 in the morning and 7 at night...
So I was worried they would be too strict...but there's no need to join the food. I had breakfast and it felt like it would be at the communal dinning of beauxbatons, everyone sitting closeby with identical very beautifully presented meals that come in many quantity but small portions. It is not my jam, but for sure it is special!
Some informations could be a bit more clear because they are a bit slow responding. For example they have a pick up time in front of the army at 6pm.
I asked info for an amazing lady at the Art Center inside the station, Chika, and she called them. She ended up taking me herself and was the best company I could have found! She is an artist, we went to the supermarket and had great conversation! I recommend going to the art center to say hi to Chika!
Lots of love, thank youuu Mountain Mamas!!!

Well run resorts with top notch service. Set in a very serene surrounding facing paddy fields and mountains. A great base to explore the outdoor options around the Yufu / Beppu area. The dinners and breakfast meals are relatively ‘formal’ but love the variety of traditional Japanese food and the meticulous service by the crew, especially Tami who speaks very good English and introduced us to many local attractions.
