Amazing
GGuest UserWe checked in on 15 Jan, 2026 and planned to stay at the hotel for a nite. When we arrived the railway station , we walked around for a while and got a taxi outside the railway station to the hotel without paying the fare. Probably the hotel had arranged with the taxi drivers in that area that they will pay the fare directly. The check-in procedure is easy and comfy. 2 staff lead us to our room 小樓球。It’s a very nice room with 2 private onsen. The spring water is nice and made our skin very smooth. The hotel had arranged enough drinks for us, 3 alcoholic and 3 nonalcoholic. We had our dinner at ard 7pm. The presentation of the good is very good & eye catching. However, the quality of the sashimi was not very fresh. Taste of the tuna was a bit fishy and it’s wet and found bloody water after picked it up from the dish😓. I don’t eat beef and the hotel changed the 5 pcs of wagu to 3pcs of eel which didn’t taste very well. Not sure whether they grill it or not. Also they changed the beef that served with rice to miso and I didn’t think it’s fair enough. The breakfast on the next morning was up to standard. Bread was fresh and hot. Egg and sausage were quite good. Overall, service is good but the standard of dinner made me disappointed as I had informed the hotel at least one week before check-in and I think they have ample of time to adjust the menu for me.
I’ve been to some other hotspring hotels with same request of not eating beef. They had changed my menu to chicken, pork or seafood like fish or shrimp and provide the equivalent size of meat for replacement.
GGlodeckThe hotel staff were pleasant and welcoming. They have separate communal onsens for men and women, plus three private onsens that require advance booking (one 50-minute slot per room per day). This isn't super convenient, especially since you probably won't spend more than half an hour actually *in* the spring. However, you're allowed to wear a swimsuit in the private onsens if you prefer. The hotel building is quite a distance from the station, but it's close enough to the lake, which is definitely worth seeing if you're visiting Yufuin. On the ground floor, there are vending machines where you can grab snacks, just in case you get hungry late at night (the hotel closes after 12:30 AM).
GGuest UserIf you're still debating whether to book this place, just go for it! You definitely won't be disappointed!!
I initially hesitated quite a bit and read the reviews repeatedly because this inn isn't near the station and the rooms only have toilets, not full bathrooms. But after actually staying here, I'm so glad I booked it.
Even though it's at least a 10-minute walk from the station, the path is relatively flat, making it easy to pull a suitcase. And while there's no bathroom in the room, the inn has three private onsen baths. Since there aren't many rooms, you rarely have to wait, and there's no pressure to rush your time in them. Plus, you can check if a bath is occupied via the in-room iPad, which is super convenient.
The room itself is incredibly spacious and comfortable, with a tatami area for activities and a Western-style bed for sleeping. Breakfast is semi-buffet, with a delicious Japanese main dish.
The only downside is probably the sound insulation isn't the best; you can hear noises from the hallway and the next room. However, after about 9 PM, even families with kids tend to quiet down, so I didn't find it to be a big issue.
EEleonora Del BianchiWhat a blast I had here!!!
I only stayed for one night and now I wish I had stayed longer. It was a Friday so Rio, the owner, organizes a night of games at the public gymnasium for teenagers (who although growing up already have the strength of super-powered samurais) and whoever else wants to participate. I haven't run and wake up with so many bruises since high school! It was really cool how everyone is quick to set the props for each game, we played 4 or 5 games in one hour!!!! It felt like a much longer time, everyone gave their best presence and participation all the time! It seems the other nights he takes everyone for a walk to see the stars, and Tuesdays there's also volleyball. Anyways, he is pretty proactive and creative , so I'm sure there's many variations and possibilities!
The living room is very pretty, the sofas super comfortable and the view gorgeous!
The bed was very hard :/ this was the only big issue for me.
The onsen is so cozy, the water super smooth and instrumental music playing. Delicious! The conditioner smells great!
I was a bit worried that they had too many rules, because when I contacted they informed about the need to leave the house everyday from 10 until 16. And that the eating time was very specific: 7:20 in the morning and 7 at night...
So I was worried they would be too strict...but there's no need to join the food. I had breakfast and it felt like it would be at the communal dinning of beauxbatons, everyone sitting closeby with identical very beautifully presented meals that come in many quantity but small portions. It is not my jam, but for sure it is special!
Some informations could be a bit more clear because they are a bit slow responding. For example they have a pick up time in front of the army at 6pm.
I asked info for an amazing lady at the Art Center inside the station, Chika, and she called them. She ended up taking me herself and was the best company I could have found! She is an artist, we went to the supermarket and had great conversation! I recommend going to the art center to say hi to Chika!
Lots of love, thank youuu Mountain Mamas!!!
PPuay ChenThis beautiful Ryokan is over 100 years old with deep heritage. I like that it stay as it is as if time stood still. So full of character. I was drawn to the onsens featuring beautiful outdoor views. You'll get to enjoy indoor and outdoor onsens here.. You get to try different types of onsens as they switch around. The highlight was the mountain view, the tranquility that some accommodation lacks due to the amount of guests. Here, you see mostly adults, hence irs ideal for people looking for a quieter retreat. Finally I was absolutely blown away by the wagyu beef at each dinner buffet. The Oita beef was of good quality and there was crab legs and so many variety of seafood and Oita specialty. Breakfast did not disappoint. Love the Yufuin milk and the pudding. Service staff was very attentive too. Ideally for non driving travellers. A short walk to the station and kinrin river.
GGuest UserStaying at a hot spring ryokan in Yufuin with dinner and breakfast included is so convenient and hassle-free.
Jukaso Hotel in Yufuin was a great choice. The traditional Japanese garden setting creates a wonderful ambiance. The location is incredibly convenient, just a 5-minute walk directly from Yufuin Station, so even with luggage, it's no trouble at all.
I booked a tatami Japanese-style room. It was spacious and clean with excellent natural light. Opening the window revealed mountain views and the greenery of the garden, making it very peaceful and restorative. The amenities were complete, and the double sinks in the bathroom were a thoughtful touch.
The hot springs include both indoor and open-air baths. The water quality was pleasant and clean, and it was quiet with few people in the evening. Soaking in the onsen completely relaxed me.
CCHU TONG SENGThe hotel was smaller than I expected, but the surroundings were absolutely beautiful, just like in the pictures. The rice paddies were stunning, especially when lit up at night. The hot spring was also fantastic, with a very comfortable temperature. What I appreciated most was that it was open until 1 AM, making for a truly relaxing experience under the starry sky. In the morning, we even saw some deer pass by. The only slight drawback is that it would be perfect if the hotel had a gym.
AAnonymous UserA great value-for-money option if you're on a budget!
It's right across from Yufuin Station, just a minute's walk away, super convenient. The triple room was clean, a bit small, but it came with a fridge, microwave, and washing machine. The bathroom had a tub and the toilet was separate from the shower, which was really nice. 👍
The rooftop open-air bath gets an extra 100 points! You get to use it privately on a rotating basis, so a family can enjoy it together without strangers. You can even soak late at night.
One thing to note ⚠️ is that it's a self-check-in system, which isn't the most convenient. You need to get a password from the hotel before arrival. You enter the password on a tablet on the second floor, and then it gives you your room number and room access code. Also, check-out is by 10 AM the next day, so you'll need to store your luggage in the lockers at the station across the street.
Overall, it's still a really great place – good location, affordable, and that open-air bath is a huge bonus!
GGuest UserI stayed here during my solo trip to Yufuin. On the day I checked in, I was playing nearby and accidentally fell into the river. I arrived around 2 PM, earlier than the official check-in time, and asked if an early check-in was possible. They initially said it was only possible at 3 PM. However, the female owner saw that I was completely soaked and immediately guided me to the public bath. She also told me where the nearest coin laundry was and even lent me a pair of slippers since my shoes were drenched. My solo trip could have been very difficult, but thanks to the owner, I was able to finish it healthy and happy. I'm incredibly grateful. If I ever visit Yufuin again with friends or family, I will definitely come back here. Thank you!
AAnonymous UserThe accommodation is beautiful, the surrounding atmosphere is good, and there is an onsen hot spring to soak in. The food is delicious. **But what I am not very impressed with is the control of other service providers. Mostly, 99% on the day I stayed were Koreans who were not very polite. They did not know even the etiquette and rules of using the public hot spring. I am not sure if the owner of the accommodation has informed the rules of using the hot spring, which is something I cannot accept. They were loud, threw the earbuds on the floor, and were not orderly. They also wore shoes in the common area of the dressing room in the hot spring. I was very disappointed. It was a rather disappointing vacation, even though it should have been a good day for me. I lost the mood to soak in the atmosphere. I did not even have the heart to take pictures of the atmosphere with the accommodation.
