Best Business Hotels in Colombo

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean, tidy, and well-maintained, making it worth every penny. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The breakfast offered a great variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. From fresh fruits to hot dishes, everything was delicious and well-prepared. The overall ambiance of the hotel was pleasant, and the amenities were top-notch. I highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers. It’s a great value for the money, and I would definitely stay here again!

Mandarina Colombo is a modern hotel with clean rooms and a hot shower, offering easy access to the city. PickMe rides are readily available, and it's about a 40-minute drive from Bandaranaike Colombo Airport. The hotel is conveniently located, just an 8-10 minute tuk-tuk ride from Gangaramaya Temple and the surrounding lake. The room was well-equipped with coffee and tea sachets, a kettle, bottled water, basic toiletries, and fresh towels. The bed and pillows were comfortable, ensuring a good night's rest. Facilities include a mini gym and a rooftop pool, adding to the overall experience. A great choice for business travelers, couples, or anyone looking for a short, comfortable stay in Colombo.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming, providing excellent hospitality throughout my visit. The room itself was in premium condition—clean, well-maintained, and tastefully furnished. One of the highlights was the balcony, which offered a stunning view of the Indian Ocean, perfect for relaxing or sunsets. The hotel’s location is also a big plus, with easy access to most of the main attractions in the area. Highly recommended for both comfort and convenience!

Clean, comfortable with nice view to the Indian Ocean. Very good gym with view to the ocean. Good massage service but very expensive. The breakfast was excellent. Good location in the city center, next to the USA embassy but very dark outside at night. Many restaurants around but the hotel has also excellent restaurants. The roof swimming pool has nice panoramic view but it was crowded.

I have to say that the room at Shangri-La is old. The whole ventilation system is problematic. The room smells very bad. The light is broken and not lit at all. I arrived at the hotel in the early morning. The guy at the front desk did not provide any service at all. He looked like he didn't care about anyone and didn't smile at all. The good thing is that the lobby is more grand. The breakfast is quite standard and not suitable for Chinese tastes. It is said to be a sea view room, but the sea view is not much

Cinnamon Grand has a beautiful lobby with a welcoming cafe loaded with delicacies. The cafe is staffed with attentive staff and the snacks and cakes are delicious. I also tried their buffets featuring local delicacies, seafood and breakfast during my stay. I thoroughly enjoyed their foods and service.

I spent 9 nights at Cinnamon Red Colombo and loved it! My impression upon arrival was that the staff was friendly, polite, and helpful. This impression lasted throughout my stay. Starting with security on the first floor, up to reception and the cafe on the 7th floor, to housekeeping (18th floor), and everyone on the 26th floor by the pool and rooftop bar. Aside from the service, the hotel is modern and cool. The facilities are clean and even smell lovely all the time in public spaces like hallways and elevators. The view of the ocean and Lotus Tower from the 26th floor is amazing, day and night. I also enjoyed the Red Rave art walk in the parking garage. After walking by other hotels under the Cinnamon brand and think Cinnamon Red has the best location. There are many cute cafes and restaurants nearby to try Sri Lankan food, plus there is a large Food City across the street, and the Saturday Good Market, National Museum, Gangaramaya Temple, Galle Face Green are all within 1-3km walking distance. If I get a chance to return to Colombo in the future, I will stay here again ＜3

We had a day to kill before our late night flight home, so booked a room and used the hotel facilities. The rooftop pool and jacuzzis are excellent. Decent range of food and drinks you can order up there. Also had a choice of many restaurants on site for our dinner. The room itself was lovely and met our needs in terms of having somewhere to freshen up before the airport. Note that the room has a window but it’s completely frosted, so you get natural light but no visibility. It didn’t bother us but might be an issue if you were staying longer. I don’t like that there’s a huge window between the bedroom and bathroom, esp when staying with a friend.

My friend and I travelled to Colombo in January from the UK. The hotel is large, modern, well appointed. Comfortable bedrooms, ample choice at breakfast (which can get busy). Our room had a Lakeside view, pretty enough, but it also overlooked the poolside bar/club which had loud music playing till the very early hours, rendering sleep a challenge. I would recommend checking this, before you book, or stay on the other side of the hotel. However, what soured our stay was that the day after we checked in at the hotel, we were victims of a scam. As we left the hotel to walk to the local temple in the morning (still jet lagged), a man claiming to be a hotel employee started a conversation with us. He claimed his name was Sangha Perera. He appeared to be helpful, giving us directions. As it was raining, he advised us that taking a tuk tuk around the main tourist attractions would be easier and cheaper. As he was connected to the hotel, we trusted him. He 'found' us a tuktuk, and even joined us acting as an unnoficial guide. Eventually he ended up taking us to an 'officially credited' government approved jewellery shop, which had 50% off,  he even told us a percentage of profits would be donated to tsunami orphans. We were pressurised by the shop management (all men) into purchasing items.  After that the tuktuk driver told us the ride for 2.5 hours would cost equivalent of £100 in rupees, and things got very heated until we paid up. We reported the matter to the Jeevani Perera, Lobby Manager at Colombo Cinnamon Lakeside hotel. She told us the man did not work at the hotel, and an identical incident had happened previously. We also spoke to the hotel security officer, who said he would check hotel security videos. Later we even sent them photos of the man claiming to be an hotel employee and the tuktuk driver. We were disappointed to receive no response from them. BE WARNED if you stay at this hotel. Scammers are working around there, and the hotel seemingly turns a blind eye, without advising guests checking in! (SEE PHOTOS OF SCAMMERS ATTACHED). Am sure the same thing goes on outside other hotels too... We eventually went to the local police, who were helpful, and they went with us to get our money back from the jewellery shop (Lanka Sapphire Lapidary PVT Ltd., no 83 Dharmaphala Mawatha, Colombo 07), but it was not easy to do so. A salutary lesson.

Booked a twin room. At checkin was told no twin bed rooms available. Instead gave a king room (premium) with an extra bed which was put inside the room. Room was good but the bed was not comfortable and bit small- which was a downside. Would gave been a great stay if the stay went according to the booking made or some other arrangement was made to accommodate this lack of availability. Room was clean with good amenities.
