We loved our experience at The Dorian! Room was beautiful with so many details covered. Bathroom was huge (hard to find these days) and we especially loved the details in the wet bar cart. Service was friendly from check in to check out. We did not eat on site, but the location was in walking distance to our dinner date. Only negative was the cleaning staff talking loudly in the hallway at 9 am for about 20 minutes. I should have let them know their voices carried into our room, but instead didn't say anything...I regret that after the fact. All in all, we had a great time and will for sure book at the Dorian again!

The sofa in the room 🛋️ is quite dirty, but the bathroom is clean! The room is small and the bed can only be put on and off one side. The hotel is in a good location and is very convenient for flights from Haneda Terminal 3!
The whole hotel is themed around this guy, Dorian Gray, whom doesn't age. He commissioned his friend to paint a self-portrait for him. Over the years, the image of himself in the painting started to age, while he remains the same. Finally, on the day he was going to die, the painting looked like a skeleton, and within a split moment, he himself turned into the skeleton, and the painting was the same the day his friend painted it afterall. The restaurant on the top floor had a beautiful decor to it. Similar to the rest of the property, has a lot of theming around peacocks. Lots of local and travellers abroad enjoying the ambiance in the restaurant. I enjoyed a signature old fashion at the bar myself. In the morning, breakfast was served a la carte on the restaurant on the second floor. It appears this restaurant also has those animated themed petite cafe style service at night but I didn't try it. The breakfast was quite decent. The room itself was really modern with great ergonomic design such as proximity lights as you approch the night stand and the bathroom. I liked the manniquin coat rack idea as well.

This elegant and exquisite hotel is one of my favourite hotels. Stunning boutique hotel ideally located downtown Calgary. The views from the rooftop bar are sensational!! The rooms are exceptional, with the styling Including motion activated lighting adds to the ambiance.Luxury bedding, premium toiletries and the themed books and pictures nodding to the theme of Dorian Grey.

Lovely little boutique hotel built within a larger hotel. The front desk team member Christopher is an absolute doll that speaks several languages. The bell team were proactively and very helpful to our group. The lobby bar is a great option for a nightcap. Rooms are well appointed and stylish. Only constructive feedback I have is that the rooftop lounge won’t separate bills (and doesn’t warn you that they won’t) so avoid going up there with a group unless you are prepared to pick up the entire tab at the end of the night.

The hotel was stunningly beautiful, and the little touches like the feather on the bed and the book on the nightstand just made it all the more special. The room was beautiful and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. My only complaint was the pillows, one was too soft and the other was a bit too firm (yes I know very goldilocks of me :) ) but that is a minor complaint as they weren’t so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep or woke up with a headache. As I said earlier the little touches like the feather on the bed and the book on the nightstand just made it all the more special. The decor of the hotel gave the beautiful dark gothic luxury that you associate with Dorian Grey. The image in the lobby that changes with what people are confessing was just the perfect touch. I did not notice that until the last day as we were leaving but I wish I had seen it earlier to be able to see how it changed throughout the stay. The service was amazing, everyone we encountered was very helpful, professional and friendly. I have zero issues or complaints with this hotel and will be returning next time I stay in Calgary.

It was a bumpy ride the first night. But the staff was accommodating and helped as much as they were able to. I’d definitely stay here again. Love the bed and the shower. They just need a bench in the shower. Thanks again for a wonderful stay it was great.

Honestly I decided to switch last minute to this Dorian after reading all the reviews here and I am sad to report that I am disappointed by the whole experience and will not return here again despite the good location and service. However if my Platinum benefits and "Confirmed" suite upgrades and Late checkouts cannot be honored, I will not return despite the excellent fitness center, cute rooms and good central location. There are other good options and I will not put up with Marriott central office not forcing its hotels to honor benefits. I used my confirmed suite upgrade for my one night stay. The upgrade was confirmed a week prior to my stay, and everything looked good. I plan to have a good night of rest, take advantage of my 4pm late check out and then fly off to London. However when I arrived at the hotel, the check in receptionist told me that I could not have a late checkout if I wanted to stay in my upgraded suite because the hotel was full. But he could offer me a late checkout if I am willing to move to a normal room. To add insult to the situation, I had to contact Marriott to get my suite upgrade back. He was polite but firm. I was really upset about the situation but with a 6pm flight, I of course had to choose the later option. Suites are useless if I have only ten hours in the room. I also choose not to bother contacting Marriott about a suite upgrade that will expire at the end of the year. Given how Marriott sort of let their hotels choosing how to honor these suite upgrades, why will I bother to get a suite upgrade back just to get slap on my face! My only advice is that if you are a Bonvoy elite, your benefits will only be selectively honors depend on how full the hotel is. I value the 4pm late check out and that is the only reason I choose to stay at a Marriott hotel. I will tell you only stay here if you only need to use your breakfast benefits, don't care about upgrades, and late checkout is optional, as the receptionist could not help to "remind" me. Being insulted is really not the way for Dorian Autograph Calgary to welcome me back in the future. Unless you enjoy being "abused," stay somewhere else!

Uniquely themed hotel in downtown Calgary. Very close to some of the shopping and the closed off street with restaurants. Also a pretty short walk to the waterfront trail. I was a little disappointed that all of the copies of the book were sold out but otherwise my stay was great. I highly recommend a visit to the top floor restaurant, even if just for a drink. The lobby cafe was good, particularly for breakfast. As far as the rooms go, the decor is nice and the rooms are comfortable, clean, and fairly spacious. Would stay here again when in Calgary.

Front desk staff were impolite and showed little to no customer service orientation. Told me that the room that I reserved and paid for was not available. Insisted that they had the right to downgrade my room and still charge me the same rate. When I then requested to cancel the room and go somewhere else they said they would still charge me. Also said there were no rooms available for check-in and then people who arrived after me were given keys to the exact same room type. Bad experience all around. There is something wrong at this hotel. I would stay away.

This hotel is centrally located near my office so it was convenient to walk to the office. The boutique hotel meant better service and also a great cafe and restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant was fantastic as time was limited to go out for meals between meetings so it was convenient to have it all in one place. There is also valet parking or parking right next to the hotel so it is convenient to park and get around. Very reasonably priced if you are a Marriott member.
