Terrible, absolutely terrible, one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region. Problems started right from check-in. I booked two rooms for a trip with foreign clients. I made separate reservations through two major, reputable platforms: my foreign client's room was booked (passport registration) and my own room was booked via Tongcheng (ID registration). However, the front desk staff couldn't find the orders themselves and started shouting and yelling at a colleague in the lobby. It got so loud that my foreign client asked if they were insulting us. It was late at night, and considering my foreign client had traveled a long distance and was tired, I actively compromised and repeatedly asked them to open the client's already confirmed room first so they could rest. Yet, the front desk service was full of flaws and extremely perfunctory throughout: 1. **No proactive communication or service explanation:** The entire process was silent and dragged out. They didn't explain why the order inquiry was abnormal, nor did they provide updates on the progress. 2. **Severe dereliction of basic service duties:** My client dragged their luggage in the usual direction towards the elevator, only to find the room card wouldn't work. After returning to inquire, the staff slowly informed them that it was the wrong elevator, with no prior warning or guidance whatsoever. 3. **Zero apologies, zero attitude, zero remorse:** Faced with obvious work errors, public arguments disturbing guests, and service oversights, even when I clearly expressed strong dissatisfaction on the spot, all front desk staff kept their heads down, passively resisted work, and handled tasks slowly. There was not a single formal apology from beginning to end, nor any attitude towards addressing the issues. Later, they offered a fruit platter as compensation. But then I found out that the person I argued with that night might have been the night manager who was doing an accounting reconciliation. What does your accounting have to do with my check-in? Why are you taking out internal company matters on guests? Breakfast service was also terrible. When I asked for a takeaway box for some fruit, the server looked me up and down as if I was going to do something nefarious with the fruit, and refused to provide one.

The room is spacious and well-decorated. It's also very well-maintained, offering great value for money.

Last year, I stayed in the East Building of this hotel for a conference and thought it was pretty good, with spacious rooms. So, I chose it again for my business trip this year, but the room was incredibly tiny, barely big enough to turn around in. There was no space for a friend to even sit down for a cup of tea. To top it off, we had to use an outer freight elevator to get to the room, which was just awful. The front desk staff were completely silent and unhelpful, their attitude was terrible. What's even funnier is that you have to pay for water, only two bottles are complimentary, and even parking costs extra. I'm definitely not coming back; it's a terrible place.

I booked two rooms for one night. The hotel was incredibly grand and impressive, and the room decor was luxurious. From the lobby to the room interiors, there were many mirrors, making everything feel very bright. Overall, it was quite good. As for the service, I think there's room for improvement. There were only two bottles of water in the room, and when I asked customer service for an extra one, they refused, stating that each room only gets two bottles. Their attitude was quite stiff, which felt completely out of place given the hotel's impressive hardware. I hope the hotel management can work on improving the quality of their staff.

Always as good as ever. The staff were very enthusiastic and attentive during meals. The only downside was that there were still many people smoking in the lobby. As soon as you stepped out of the elevator into the check-in lobby, there was a strong, unpleasant smell of smoke. I still wouldn't recommend it for families with young children.

Not one single person at the hotel spoke English. For European and North American business travellers, it’s not a great place to stay. Ordering food at the restaurant requires a degree at Oxford University in Communications, and they were not particularly gracious in our attempts to speak Chinese. My advice is to pay a similar price and stay at the Hilton about 25 minutes into town from there. More geared up to the businessman.

Parking was convenient for self-drivers, and the stay was quiet, ensuring good rest quality. Overall, the value for money is great, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

My stay at the Changzhou Buckingham Palace Hotel was, on the whole, very disappointing. While the hotel's facilities are decent, the service and attention to detail are severely lacking. Food deliveries aren't brought to the room, guests have to pay for parking, there's no master switch for the room lights, the deposit is quite high, and there's no disposable cover for the bathtub. Many basic expectations were not met. The staff's attitude was mediocre, lacking proactive care, and many issues required guests to repeatedly follow up to get them resolved. For a hotel positioned at a higher price point, it failed to deliver on convenience, guest-friendliness, and a sense of hygiene and safety. It's not good value for money, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The hotel offers good value for money and the service is quite good. The decor and facilities are also nice. The only downsides are its somewhat remote location, a bit far from the subway station, and while breakfast is plentiful, the taste is just so-so.
