Aille River Tourist Hostel and Camping Doolin

Came here on a motorbike trip, 5 of us. Adva and all of the staff were 1st class. Handy location within walking distance of Doolin. Facilities were excellent and rooms very clean. All the best and see you again soon. Fae the Jocks - The Chappit Tatties

My family and I stayed in this hostel recently. The location was fabulous, rooms were decent size and well heated however these are the few positives of this hostel. Upon arrival, the ‘receptionist’ was extremely rude. Unfortunately the bathroom was covered in dust and there was constant banging from the room above. The receptionist had no time for small talk- the keys were handed to us and that was it. No explanation of rooms or facilities. It is a shame that the staff here are so rude as the area and location of the hostel are beautiful. A little friendliness and cleanliness would’ve gone a long way- due to how unapproachable the staff were we did not come forward with these issues at the time. In future we will check staff reviews before booking.

Could not fault a single thing about my experience at this hostel. Robert, the owner, is a thorough gent. He was very friendly and very informative on what to do in the area - as well as being great fun. Beds very comfy and throughout the hostel was sparkling clean. Will definitely be back!

Just had a lovely experience camping at and using the facilities of the Allie River Hostel in Doolin. The staff are helpful and friendly. The hostel facilities are clean and well maintained with sanitisers available for self- cleaning. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area with ample fridge room really makes makes camping a pleasure! Also must mention our friendly helpful fellow campers. A great experience all round. For 105 Euro per night, we shouldn't have to pay extra for a towel or cup of coffee. I feel like they really took advantage of us with the price and fees for extras. You can do far better someplace else. Maybe even find a nicer staff or a place with more room in what is described as a "family" suite. There were three of us and we could barely all stand at once - let alone fit luggage.

I have been staying here for 15 years and always found Robert and the hostel to be great. I have brought lots of groups here over the years and was always happy in the past. The most recent trip we were dealing with a different person and left very unhappy. I contacted this other person and after a couple of e mails am still very unhappy. We stayed at the hostel for one night to see the cliffs of Moher and the village of Doolin and it was a cheaper option than the rest of the places around the village so we didn't expect to many luxuries. The room was small but clean and a bit basic with no desk space or a mirror for my wife to use. They don't have a kettle in the room but they have a communal area for cooking and making drinks and a place to do the laundry on site. It's in a great location and only a 10 minute walk away from the village centre with the pubs and shops

Really rude owners when calling to ask about a problem with never receiving emails about a booking. They then proceeded to charge my card without authorization. Worst customer service I've experienced during my whole trip.

Lovely sheltered campsite, alongside a river which was great for the dog. Pet friendly place obviously which was great and they limit the amount of dogs onsite which is also appreciated. As a camper you have access to all the hostel facilities which are great: showers, sinks, charging station and the most functional well laid out hostel kitchen I've come across. Staff are super friendly and helpful. It's a well oiled machine in terms of the processes to use the shared facilities which appealed to the organiser in me! I will definitely be returning here for another visit. 100% recommend.
