The hotel made our Christmas special with nice foods and festive atmosphere. The room is spacious with beautiful harbour overview ; good cleanliness; comfort bed; great location to wander around or go to UShaka Marine world or RickSha tour bus or to the beach. The staff are very friendly, providing the service with care and professional manner. The price is very reasonable; overall is great value for money and definitely recommend this lovely hotel to anyone to visit Durban and we will stay again.

The reception was amazing. Stuff was very friendly breakfast was always amazing. They cleaned my room well. Rooms are very big and spacious. Completely worth it

Paid for Harbor view room and they gave me a city view room upon checking in saying they no longer have Harbor views available. How can you not reserve a room that’s already paid for??

Hi ! Was not very happy with the room, looking old fashion , from pictures on the net looks totally different, I did try calling management no Joy! Please can you try and get this situation sorted ! I had booked twice at the royal and was very disappointed even the food was not up to standard .please can you give us feedback. Thank you

Very nice Location in Durban CBD closed to the beach approx 1km. Long history hotel. Professional and friendly stuffs with perfect services.

Additional cleaning materials can be made available. If the ceiling lights be replaced by chandeliers it will give the old hotel a best fill of pre-colonial era
