Fairfield Inn by Marriott East Rutherford Meadowlands

It’s average. Some people were speaking very loud in the hallway away after midnight but weren’t there for too long. One of the two elevators was out of service and only one was working.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay at this hotel. I was surprised at how outdated it was. A musty smell hit us when we first walked in. One elevator was broken. Our room had a used washcloth on the ground. Our deadlock was broken. The mini refrigerator, when turning on to cool, sounded like a loud engine and woke me up multiple times at night. The bathroom floor was outdated. There was 2 bars of soap thrown on the vanity. Very poor lighting, barely a window. No extra mirror by beds. Pros: free breakfast was ok, the bedding seemed clean and bed was comfortable. The shower seemed clean and had good water pressure. This was beyond a disappointment for the price we paid. If we were staying more than one night I would have asked for our money back and found someplace else.

The hotel was exactly what we needed to attend a local wedding - clean, convenient and budget-friendly. The room needed more light and more shelf space in the bathroom. Good breakfast with several hot items available.

We had a great stay, the room was good. The front desk staff were amazing and friendly. One elevator was down during our stay, we used the stairs. We would stay again.

Breakfast was good! People were friendly! Because it was a major holiday and an elevator was down it was a bit crowded. Everything else was fine.

The hotel location is good. My family stayed there for 3 nights. The rooms were small. Lighting was not good. The bath tub was clogged. Reception staff was okay. The BF was okay. Unfortunately the are charging a lots of money for a mediocre hotel. This property does not live unto Marriot's standard. I am Marriot Bonvoy member and expected much better.

This was a great location! Easy bus ride to NYC. Price was very reasonable with free parking and breakfast included. Breakfast was simple and not ideal for someone with gluten intolerance. But we managed. Beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately there was only one elevator working and it was quite busy, especially in the morning. Overall, I would return. Much more affordable than NYC.

I don't typically review, but I felt it was necessary this time. I'm from upstate and wanted to just take an overnight or two trip down to the city to see the lights, etc. But in being from the city I know the expense and irritation I consistently feel when I stay at hotels. Plus we were mostly in Manhattan and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on the stay. I must say, I don't understand that bad reviews, I was nervous about choosing the hotel, but after my stay I'm really glad I did. The room was clean, fresh, checked the mattresses, no bugs, no nothing. Lobby is pretty, and staff is very helpful and friendly. Jordan and Giovanna were very kind during our stay. Giovanna even pointed out to us that right across the street literally like 15 feet away, there's a round trip bus that'll take you from jersey to the city. I thought that was especially helpful, round trip is like 9 bucks a person, and kids under 11 are 5 or 4, it was nice since it ended up being the same 30 you spend in tolls going back in forth, not to mention the insane parking situation in Manhattan were not only is there never a spot, but parking is 15 for two hours or 30/40 for 3?!?! Outrageous. So the second day we die the bus and it was a life saver it drops you right at the port authority near times Square. So overall I enjoyed the stay, the breakfast was mid, but for free, plus we got down there late, can't complain. Bathrooms were also very clean ans fresh, good floors, rooms looked newer and not musty
