Muthu Glasgow River Hotel

Hotel from hell. Worst place to stay and just about to be filled with 200 + boat visitors from over the channel. Do not stay here and avoid at all costs. If you want to stay in a poor mans faulty towers the thia ia the place. You'd be better staying in a cardboard box.

Well what can I say? I highly advise you DO NOT order a spa day for two from Groupon for this hotel! You buy it, then when you try to phone the hotel to book, the receptionist continuously puts you through to the spa, where the phone is never answered! Any voicemail you may leave is IGNORED, the reception staff are completely unhelpful when you phone them back to tell them about the problem, then try to put you through to the spa AGAIN, while you’re still talking! I phoned, I complained to a receptionist, I asked to hear back from a manager, and I emailed the establishment, and NOTHING happened. Then when I phoned back one more time I discovered they aren’t even doing SPA trea**ents just now due to refurbishment?! Why are the hotel selling vouchers?! And why had no one told me this the first million times I tried to get through! So you’re paying money for a Spa day, and all you would get at the very most just now would be a dip in the pool with no trea**ents. My biggest issue is the staff and managements complete disregard for customer service and professionalism, ignoring several requests for answers. I won’t be back to this hotel, not if you can’t even speak to a coherent person at the reception never mind anywhere else. I won’t buy any further vouchers online either before phoning the hotel up first and finding out if their spa is actually open, not that you should have to, if that’s what they’re advertising! Poor trea**ent of customers and poor service in every aspect. Sham. Luckily I managed to get a refund from Groupon, which almost never happens, so I’m guessing they’ve had more complaints along the same line.

I was meant to have a nice enjoyable spa day with my friend for my birthday here at Muhtu, Erskine…my friend had kept on phoning to check that the spa/leisure facilities were all operational prior to our visit there on Tuesday to be told everything was fine … then we arrived to a very dated, health hazard of a place! (Lifts not operational, tables sticky, corridor walls and carpets wet and foul smelling-just to list a few!) We were told “we should have had a phonecall” and the spa manager said “it wasn’t his fault as he was off on holiday.” We we’re then made to wait a further 10 minutes until another manager arrived, only to be given the biggest & well practised “going to fob you off now by pretending to completely understand your issue” speech yet! My friend was told they’d email Wowcher-they haven’t-the manager said she would contact my friend to confirm all action had been taken-she hasn’t….DO NOT GO as it’s well below par on all counts including customer courtesy!!

I booked and paid for this hotel back in February. After travelling 300 miles I found that the hotel was CLOSED. They did not inform me of this or refund me. Somebody was on site who recommended a nearby hotel which was very expensive but had no choice after a long drive. I have sent several emails asking for a refund but still have NOT received one almost two months later. This is an utter disgrace and very poor customer service. Also fraudulent as I have paid for a service that I did not receive. I will NEVER book this or any other Muthu hotel again...

The rooms looks like an expensive hotel room. Very smart and the bed was excellent. But the bathroom was a let down. Shower head holder was busted. So the shower head was in the way when in the bath. Wash basin had to sink stop and no mixer taps. Hot water was scolding hot after a few seconds. Although the floor was a marble effect. When coming out of the bathroom after my bath. The floor was cold on the feet. As I went to step on the rug around the bed to get warmth. The rug is so soft (slick as snot). I slipped and landed hard on my elbow. My room was on the third floor. Went down to the bar to get something to drink. Both lifts went out of action. Had to walk down the unsigned fire escape stairs and back up. Not good. What if I was to be elderly or have an illness. Would I stay there again. Probably.

Only stayed here one evening because it’s close to the airport. Fire alarm kept going off all through the night to a point it was funny. Bathroom covered in mold, one elevator working and television wouldn’t work. Cheers

I was given a wowcher for a spa day for two, and twice it has been cancelled the night before. The first time it took us 3 months to rebook, and then it was cancelled the night before again. We took time off work, especially as both of us work shifts, organised child care, and this isn't acceptable.

Hotel was booked for 2 nights for 2 rooms on 10th Dec and 11th December 2021. This was to celebrate my daughters 20th birthday. So her and her little brother had a twin room.and my husband and I had a double room. To start with the hotel confirmed with me.ot would be a quiet relaxing stay. The rooms would be close together etc. So when we arrived our room was on 4th floor kids on 2nd floor. However as our lights and heating didnt work they moved us to one on 2nd floor that had just become avail since we checked in!? The hotel is dirty and dated. Carpets were stained and threadbare in places. The First night was mediocre at best. However the second night was a nigh**are. There was a huge Chris**as party on in the mack.of hotel. 100s if drunk non mask wearers running about shouting and banging doors till 3am. The noise from party night was unbearable. I complained to hotel on 12 occasions but have yet to even have an apology! I said I wasnt happy to pay full price for 2nd night yet they took it anyway. Horrible experience. It's cheap but not worth the money. Breakfast was cold and greasy. Pool was very dirty and spa closed. Also the tiles were all broken and cracked from changing rooms to pool. Changing room floors were cold and ankle deep in dirty water! Awful avoid at all costs.

Company is Fraud and run by International people. They have taken money for my Group reservation and I am trying to call them for my refund. They blocked my number. People beware of this company as they are working here by taking the money and disappeared. They are building money by robbing people. I was about to stay in March but when I arrived staffs were telling No Health & Safety Compliances. Fire alarm was disconnected from inside the panel so that they no need to spend money. We straight away gone from the Hotel. According to the staffs working there, this MGM company is full of Fraud people and staffs ae all international brought in UK to rob people. Disgrace to be in UK business. Beware Guysss...dont fall into the Trap.
