The hotel is located in a very good location. It's not far from Hakata main station. It's on a quiet street but close to restaurants and the supermarket.

Yamamoto Ryokan have friendly service, the place are clean.

Very clolse to Gion station (2-3 mins). Walking distance from Hakata station, too (10-15 mins). There are a lot of restaurants and convenience stores around this ryokan. There are two shared bathrooms (with shower) with a lock, and more than 4 high-tech toilets if i'm not wrong. The building is quit old but clean enough to me. Easy checkin and checkout. The kind owner (older guy) speaks English. If you want to enjoy hotel stay, it might be a good idea to choose the ordinary hotels. But if you want to experience something different or just want to stay (sleep) overnight, Yamamoto Ryokan could be one of the good options.

Location is fine, but otherwise this place kept everything old. I wouldn’t come back.

The room is a traditional Japanese tatami. The hotel owner is a very friendly old couple. There is also a staff member who speaks English so communication is no problem at all. The facilities are a bit old, but overall they are clean and tidy, and it is very comfortable to stay there☺️

The location is convenient - just a few minutes from Hakata station and the bus terminal. The owner is friendly - he explained everything, showed everything himself 😊 The room was clean and cozy. The air conditioner worked perfectly, so the temperature in the room was adjusted as desired. The futon is moderately soft, the pillow is small (for me this is a plus, not a minus 😁). Of the minuses - poor soundproofing, but I only needed one night, and besides, I walked to the point of exhaustion, so I slept soundly despite this 🤣. And a very small toilet (on the 2nd floor) - I am a very compact person, but even for me it was not very comfortable 😅. But these minuses are insignificant, in my humble opinion, so I was satisfied)

Nice environment, very close to the subway station! Convenient to go out, very patient to explain.

This hotel is really based on an old house, so it has the flavor of Japan in the last century, especially the bathhouse, which is exactly like what it looks like in the cartoon. I think it is worth experiencing it if you go to Fukuoka! In addition, the situation of the boss is as other people have commented. They are an old gentleman and an old lady. They should have been doctors in the past. However, since I can speak simple Japanese, we are interchangeable, but I think they can. The one who speaks English used to be a doctor after all. And the old gentleman is actually a bit nagging. He likes to take me to each device to see how to use it. He feels like the kind of old father we usually have at home. He is full of intimacy, so it is very pleasant to talk to him. However, it seems that his memory is not very good. Sometimes when he comes in and out, he will forget that you are a tenant and will ask you which room. Overall, it is an interesting and unique hotel.

I really liked the Japanese atmosphere. I only used it as a place to sleep, so there was no particular inconvenience, but I was surprised by the amount of hair in the room. I had to use a shared bathroom, so that was a little inconvenient.

It is close to the downtown area, so it is easy to go shopping and eat at good restaurants, and the owner is very friendly. You have to use the public bathroom, but I didn't feel particularly uncomfortable.

Arrived at Gion Station by private railway, less than 10 minutes walk to Yamamoto Ryokan, tatami room, after the uncle introduced, walked around upstairs, carrying the suitcase in the narrow passage, tiring! You can eat ramen nearby, authentic and crowded but the pork trotter soup is a bit salty, sweaty, people inside and outside are sweaty, went back to rest and felt thirsty before going to bed, went to the so-called cafeteria, it was closed, and there was no water to drink. The hotel, but the sanitation work is still good, basically spotless.

The bathroom is a bit small. There are only 2 bathrooms, but the room is wide. The stairs are very small, not suitable for big people.

On my way from Nagasaki to Karatsu to Hakata, I stayed in Hakata! I was able to experience a ryokan in a big city! The room was also like a normal ryokan.
