Hotels near Honkokuji in Gotemba

Short walk to Gotemba outlet. We booked private onsen through the help of a friend as booking could only be done in Japanese when calling in prior to our trip. Room is considerably small and we didn't managed to see Mt fuji as it had been raining the whole day. Lucky enough, we chanced upon 10 mins fireworks specially for the outlet staff that night. Dinner in the restaurant was reasonably priced. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will visit again.

Free parking, suitable for travelers with self-driving cars, breakfast is average. There is still some distance from Mount Fuji. The room does not face Mount Fuji. The hotel does not seem to provide a top floor for guests to view? There are public baths for bathing.

Our room was a moderate twin room on 3/F (facing the podium car park which means no view). The room design was good - overall the room size was small (even in tokyo standard - not any bigger) bathroom was even smaller but still provides the essentials that you need. The hotel is more a business hotel which offers everything that you need (free yakult, ice bars, hot coffee, chocolate, ramen, comics corner, and more), hotspring and footbath. Everything you can name, just go and get them/ experience yourself. I appreciated the fact that the hotel has tried to put everything together in a compact space. There are 3 areas for free car parking, each of which is not big - the nearest car park 1 adjacent to the hotel is always full after 6pm. However, there is still no need to panic as another parking area 2 is just nearby (like 2 min walk). Breakfast was just okay - mostly Japanese with limited western choice. Last entry for breakfast is 9am which is very early, making the restaurant always packed during 8-9am. For the 3 nights spent there, our family of 3 had to sit on bar table for 2 days and queue outside to wait for a table (10 mins) on the last check-out day. The waiting was not a very pleasant experience afterall. During the Christmas holiday, the restaurant has also reached its max capacity and life would have been easier for staff and guests if they could extend the breakfast hours till later like other hotels at 10:30am. We will want to try other hotels in Gotemba next time.

Very interesting archetecture, great view of Mt. Fuji and a good price were why we choose this hotel. We arrived around 6 PM and were told we couldn't use the restaurant because we didn't have a reservation. We had to drive back to interstate about 15 minutes to find something, there is nothing at all in the hotel vicinity or even a little snack shop on site! Buses very limited. The front of the hotel was nicely painted and landscaped, but the back with patio was pretty shabby. But it did have seating outside for great fresh air. Parking was free but coming back after dinner the covered parking was all full and we had to park lower level in the rain. The room had a strange layout, a 3-mat room for a passageway (luggage drop?) and a small bedroom that one person could get out of bed on one side, but the other person had to crawl over the middle of the bed in the night to get out. In the closet were 2 hard hats?? In case Fujisan starts spewing ash? I think maybe this room was the staff's emergency room when forced to stay. The public bath was disappointingly small, so got crowded quickly. And the view? Of course it rained so no view of Mt. Fuji at all. Not in the hotel's control, but left us disenchanted... 4-star hotel. I don't think so.

I stayed at tiger no Yu for the first time. Despite Saturday nights, it was a reasonable price setting, so it was a high reputation, but I didn't expect much. First of all, the facility is like a recreational center of former Dentsu, and the interior and exterior of the red bricks have a luxury feeling and were surprised. The making is different from the hotel, but it is ◎. The hot spring is only inner hot water, but it is even thin and cloudy. The smell of sulfur smells a little at the outlet of the hot water, but it is hardly in the bathroom. However, dinner was a happy miscalculation. 3 appetizers are also good. sesame dallet and ponvinegar are not hard and the taste of meat is not *. Meat is also peach meat? I couldn't tell you whether it was a place, but it was a moderate frost, and it was the best choice to eat it with shab shab. You can enjoy the sweetness and taste of the meat without getting tired. However, it may be because I replaced meat when I began to swell, but the meat that I replaced a little bit smelled more subtle than the sweetness of meat than the first meat, and I thought ”eh” for a moment. I added ponvinegar and asagi, but my wife didn't notice it, so it may be my temper. The dessert vanilla ice cream is thick and the mix berry sauce is handmade? Is it, it was very delicious and enjoyed until the end. In general, it was a look, taste, volume and a very satisfying dinner in oneself. Breakfast is cute in appearance, but it seems that I arranged almost the thing that was made, and there is not much handmade feeling. The hot tofu and shake were warm. I think the customer service attitude is good, but I feel the shortage of personnel at meals. I think it is different if I use it on weekdays because this day is full. I think it is not possible to use this inn at this accommodation because I reduced the labor cost and the service. It is helpful to be able to stay at this content at this price in Sengokuhara.

Girls should be before 9.30 pm, boys are after 10 pm. The bathing area is very small and can only accommodate 5 to 6 people.

Marriott staff welcomed us at the curb side. Check in was painless and soon we were off to our room. In room hot springs was a pleasant touch. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Even the Japanese pillows were soft and cozy. The food was top notch and catered to every taste. We opted for the dinner package—well worth the money. After dinner we rang for a late night massage…should have rethought that one. Asked for two therapist and got one. She had no clue what a massage was! Seriously!!! She literally poked at me with her finger tips. The pushed my head agains the pillow for ten minutes. Finally was had enough and she was dismissed with her full pay. Noted, she was not affiliated with the hotel, she was merely the lady they called. Please never call her again! Loved the hotel and the view. A must for anyone wanting a quiet getaway.

We stayed overnight on the way back from our trip from the Chita Peninsula. I could only see Mt. Fuji a little in the morning, but I enjoyed the hot springs in my room and the hot springs in the large communal bath. The teppanyaki dinner was delicious and I enjoyed talking with the chef. I would like to visit again if I have another chance. Thank you very much.
