It was so sad.

We stayed for a week at this hotel. The location is centralized and right next to the Plaza del Sol, a large open air shopping center. First and foremost, the service was outstanding. At all times we felt the staff cared and did what they could to help us enjoy our stay. The breakfast at the Cafe Urbano was outstanding with a wide array of freshly prepared and delicious food. The service at the Cafe Urbano deserves special mention. We tried the French restaurant and enjoyed it; tasty French bistro style food and good wine. The club level service was very good, with two hours of a very fine wine. We were pleased with the upgrade that we received due to IHG diamond status; the room had a living room and a ridiculous bathroom. Not many cons; the pool is underwhelming and there did not seem to be many guests. All and all, we felt the famous IHG hospitality and recommend.

The hotel is really beautiful! Even the local customers of our appointment said that he had seen the most renovated hotel in the local area! The room and bathroom are large enough, very stylish, and the toiletries (except the toothbrush) are fully prepared. The hotel’s breakfast is rich and fresh fruit is found every day. The restaurant's dinner is also very good, the price is very high, and the restaurant is facing the garden, with the good weather in Mexico, very beautiful. I stayed at RIU Guadalajara for 4 nights in August 2022. I will stay there again on my next trip. My room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and refreshed everyday by 'Helga'. Breakfast was included in my rate and it was well worth the money. I dined on the patio overlooking the city and enjoyed my morning coffee in the morning breeze. The buffet has everything you'd want for breakfast or brunch and the service is excellent. The waiters brought want you wanted without interrupting your meal. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this hotel. Francisco was so helpful. He drove us to a car rental, did all the translation, helped negotiate a great price and refused any tip. Truly hospitable. The hotel itself was fantastic in every way. The in- house restaurant was excellent. The room was huge, pristine clean and full of first class ammenities, just like the name FCH (First class Hotel) implies. This was a real treat.

I choose the hotel due to the closeness to the EXPO conference center. The short distance was convenient. The hotel staff were mostly very kind (the dining room a little bit less), that compensated the lack of English skills (of some of them). The hotel facility was very good, always very clean. It could be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room (especially in the warm weather of Mexico as well as due to the low / risky quality of water in Mexico).
