LN Garden Hotel Guangzhou

This isn't my first time staying here. This time, I suddenly decided to bring my child along, so I used a package I'd bought previously. The package was quite good value, though the king room felt a bit small for a family. The Kapok Suite I stayed in before was much more suitable, large, and comfortable. It would be great if the packages offered more options. This particular package didn't include a breakfast buffet. I find that Garden Hotel's buffet breakfast has more Western options (perhaps catering to the many foreign guests here), which I'm not used to 🤦‍♂️. I prefer Chinese food, so we usually opt to eat breakfast at nearby places. There are numerous dim sum restaurants within walking distance, like Lei Garden, Guangzhou Restaurant, and Tao Tao Ju – plenty of choices to suit any budget. Hotel service is, as always, impeccable (＾-＾)o🍴. The service was very attentive and prompt. Traveling with a child, we received a lot of kindness. It’s a great hotel for families with kids in the city center. Even if you don't go out, there’s enough to keep the kids entertained within the hotel. As a long-established hotel, the facade and lobby are grand and exude a luxurious atmosphere from a period of economic prosperity, haha 😄. Some of the room furniture is a bit older, but it’s well-maintained, and the wooden antique furniture still has a certain charm. This package included two buffet dinners at Ling Xuan Pavilion. The restaurant rotates, which is quite interesting. The food itself was just okay, nothing particularly noteworthy. There wasn't much selection for raw sashimi, but the cakes were quite good, so it was acceptable. Mainly, the ambiance and service were good. On a side note, the hotel has many elevators, and they respond quickly. As expected, food delivery isn't allowed up to the rooms; you have to pick it up from the delivery locker downstairs.

The service, as always, was warm, thoughtful, and attentive. From the moment we walked in, to the front desk, and even just casually walking around and encountering staff members, everyone was incredibly proactive and patient in answering and resolving all our questions. This was our first trip with a baby, and the hotel thoughtfully provided a crib. Because we had a lot of luggage, they even proactively upgraded us to a suite, which really eased the anxiety of traveling with a little one. Baby toiletries were also provided, which was very professional. What's more, upon check-in, we were pleasantly surprised with delicious traditional Cantonese dim sum to try, truly making it feel like home. The hotel museum is very unique, and the waterfall garden is also quite exquisite, complete with koi fish. It offered a tranquil escape in a bustling city. The taste and service in the restaurants within the hotel continue to be of high standard. The only minor drawback at the moment is that some parts of the hotel are undergoing maintenance (though it didn't create any noise disturbance for guests), and the swimming pool isn't open yet. However, the transportation is still very convenient, with various buses and subways right outside. There are also plenty of shopping malls and restaurant options nearby, and it's very close to the zoo, memorial hall, and train station. It's an area that's a great choice for saving time and effort during your trip.

For the past few years, whenever I'm in Guangzhou, I always choose to stay at the Garden Hotel. The staff here are incredibly kind and attentive, always going the extra mile for guests. The breakfast spread is also varied and delicious. The rooms are well-equipped and spotlessly clean.

I specifically chose to travel after the Spring Festival to avoid the crowds, but it was still quite busy. The hotel upgraded me to a suite, and the environment was pretty good. It's located right in the city center, in a commercial district, with places like Guangzhou Restaurant just across the street. A 'golden' tour guide showed us around the hotel. The museum is huge, full of historical atmosphere, and there's even a squash court, which is definitely worth trying out. For breakfast, I didn't choose the 'Waterfall Restaurant' but opted for the Cantonese dim sum upstairs instead, and I wasn't disappointed. There were many dining options available. I'll definitely be back to try the other restaurants next time.

The front desk lady was very efficient in helping us check in. The hotel itself is good, and the location is convenient for transportation. Unfortunately, the pool, sauna, and other facilities were still under renovation (internal management seemed chaotic, as some staff said they were usable, but they weren't). There were many hotel staff members, but honestly, I didn't feel like they were very effective. I hope management takes this seriously. The hotel has been renovated, so it's not run-down. It's fine for a visit to see the legendary establishment, but don't expect top-notch five-star service.

This was my second time staying at The Garden Hotel, and this time I brought my parents, who were visiting Guangzhou from out of town, to experience a night here. When the guest services center heard my parents were staying, they offered wonderfully thoughtful service and even gave us complimentary breakfast. My parents, who love gardening, raved about the back garden and also visited the hotel's museum, gaining a deeper understanding of its history and culture. Considering my parents were staying, the guest services center even offered us a late check-out! Big thumbs up for the hotel's elegance and luxury, and a huge shout-out for the warm service from the guest services team!

Overall, the facilities are quite good, though the bathroom and shower area are cramped, leading to water overflow during showers. There's no partition between the bed and the bathroom area, and the room isn't equipped with an exhaust fan, nor can the windows be opened. It was my first time seeing such an old-fashioned hairdryer in a hotel. The hotel's location is excellent, right by a waterfall, and the architecture perfectly complements the scenery, making for a remarkably elegant and beautiful exterior. Although there's subway construction happening out front, the noise is tolerable. The service was mediocre. Staff didn't inform us of any benefits, and I didn't feel much warmth or a 'smiley service' vibe; it felt quite cold. When checking out, we waited a long time. When it was our turn, we were told to wait for another staff member, presumably an intern, so we just stood there. After a while, a staff member came to ask if we were checking out and took our room cards. When storing our luggage, seeing other bags in the concierge area, we mistakenly thought we could drop ours there. The staff member in charge was busy with other guests, so we asked a passing bellhop about luggage storage. They gestured for us to queue. When it was finally our turn, we were told that luggage storage was by the elevators. I suggest the hotel improve staff guidance and training on related procedures. The doorman did proactively assist with the car door. Having had dim sum at the White Swan Hotel, I feel there's still a noticeable gap in overall service compared to them. Transportation is very convenient, whether by taxi or subway.

I've stayed at the Garden Hotel a few times now, and overall, it's pretty good, and the transportation is convenient. However, when I think about it closely, it always feels like something is missing. The hotel's decor is still magnificent, especially the public areas, but the facilities are undeniably showing their age. The road next to it has been under construction for three years, and it's still as noisy as ever. The hotel's cleanliness is quite thorough. I always habitually wipe things down with an alcohol wipe when I stay at hotels, and I found that the cleaning was really well done. However, I always wonder why the air conditioning is weaker than expected. Then I looked at the return air vent... I imagine if the hotel thoroughly cleaned all the air conditioners, they could probably save a lot on electricity bills. The service seemed pretty good, as there were quite a few staff members scattered around the lobby, and they even silently upgraded my room (it was truly silent; they didn't tell me). But if you ask me if I experienced any other remarkable service, I don't really think so.

Before leaving Guangzhou, I stayed for a night at the Garden Hotel. This classic platinum-rated hotel still holds up really well. Old hotels usually have a musty smell inside, but the facilities and service here are excellent. There's a subway station right outside, and it's located in the heart of the Huanshi East Road business district. Breakfast was complimentary, but it was just okay overall. However, the food at Tao Yuan Pavilion within the hotel is outstanding, and the museum inside is also very impressive.
