Ottawa Hotels with Gym

Booked this hotel last minute as we had to stay one extra night in the city and it was really amazing! This is a hotel I would definitely go back! The lady at the counter was extremely nice and she spoke Portuguese! She was really happy to be able to speak with us in Portuguese and we were happy she spoke Portuguese! The hotel location is really good, downtown near the parliament, and the room was amazing! Really big and spacious studio with a kitchen and a living room. Bed was really comfortable but the sofa bed was not that good (as in all hotels). Toilet was big and had all the amenities. Breakfast was good and had eggs, bacon, fruits, cereals, fresh waffles, chia pudding, bread, … They have private parking at an extra fee but the entrance is really narrow. There’s also street parking around at a fee.

I've stayed here several times over the last few years; the location can't be beat, and the street is full of energy (and homeless, but that's downtown Ottawa for you, and there is excellent security at the hotel). The rooms are usually large, many set up like 1-bdrm apartments, and thoughtfully stocked with pretty much everything you could think of. The full sized kitchens are reasonably well-appointed; all you need to bring is the food. It's a great place for budget business travelers, long-stay guests, and vacationing families watching their pennies. Parking is expensive at $25/day, but it's a gated lot and there's underground parking in poor weather as well, so it's worth it if you must drive.

Just needed hotel for one night. Easy check, check out. Clean room, well appointed. Met all of our needs. Would recommend to others

As a family of three, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, I definitely book again. Very close to shopping and highway 417. Hotel located in a very quiet area. I should thank Mr. Soheil at Reception who was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was also very good included hot/cold meals and fluits

Great stay. Central location downtown. Comfortable bed and pillows. Felt relaxed and revitalized. Room as upgraded at check in by the receptionist so that was a bonus!

Looks small from the outside, but the facilities inside are great! Breakfast includes meat, eggs, and milk, and you can even get fresh waffles made to order. The room is quite spacious too. The best part is there are three types of coffee to choose from, and two bottles of mineral water are provided. The lobby also offers 24-hour hot water. P.S. You still need to bring your own toothbrush, towel, and slippers. Their shower gel and shampoo are pretty standard.

Where to begin... first of all, when I made this booking, there was no mention whatsoever of HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION beginning every day at 7 a.m. Naturally upon checking in, I'm informed that there is intense construction happening right next door. And yes, it was brutal. I also SPECIFICALLY booked this hotel because there was an option to reserve now, pay at the hotel. Here are some direct quotes from my booking confirmation email: ”You'll need to pay upon check-in at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” ”Your payment will be handled by Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” and ”Pay at Hotel.” Sure enough, I get there, and the money's already been taken out of my credit card and I owe nothing to the hotel upon check-in. (This matters for reimbursement purposes at the company I work for.) Lastly, I was told when I checked in that housekeeping would be visiting every third day -- that was fine by me. But the very first day, I come back to my room after a long day and someone's been there, replacing towels, removing the minimal garbage in there, etc., which I was not at all prepared for given that I was advised the opposite. It made me extremely uncomfortable because all of my personal effects were left throughout the room, not expecting housekeeping given that I was advised no housekeeping would be coming until the third day. I'll be honest, that creeped me out as someone travelling alone. The staff were apologetic but I didn't find their explanation at all sufficient. (The housekeeping manager and front desk attendant completely contradicted each other.) Overall, such a chaotic stay. Oh, and, the heat in my room didn't work. Had to request a space heater... I mean, c'mon.

The breakfast is rubbish, typically American, so there is nothing. Those who say it is good have obviously never been to hotels on other continents. The location is good, right on the edge of downtown Ottawa, so you can easily walk to the center. Parking is limited, so if you don't make a reservation in time in the morning, you won't have a place to park in the hotel, but there is a garage 5 minutes' walk away, which is also cheaper and can be easily walked. The biggest drawback of the hotel is that it is located next to the center for the homeless, and unfortunately many of them are not very clear-headed and it is very unpleasant to walk by them, day or night.

Great place to stay nice & clean not far from downtown . Private parking and room for 3 people was big with a big kitchen. I definitely recommend . Price is also affordable.

Pros: a parking lot with sufficient space (no need to book in advance). A shopping mall St Laurent is nearby. The breakfast is ok. There are 2 sockets and 2 USB-A outlet on each side of the bed. The staff are friendly in general. Cons: A bit far away from the tourist attractions downtown (around 10 minutes drive). The coffee from the in-room coffee machine was so-so. The air-conditioner was quite noisy. The TV in my room couldn't be turned off (It went off automatically after no-signal for a while anyway). There were some paper cups for coffee but no other glass / cups in the whole room even for brushing teeth so I had to use paper cups for brushing teeth (Is it considered environmental friendly?)
