The Barefoot Eco Hotel

It was my first trip to the Maldives. I chose the hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and never regretted the choice I made. This location is suitable for people like me - who need a quiet, uncrowded place where they can get closer to nature, and for those who care about nature. The rooms were quite good. I booked seaside room, but for the first 4 days I stayed in ocean view room, it was a gift from the hotel. The food was good quality, though not too varied. The hotel and services are well described in reviews from other tourists, in my review I would like to thank the hotel team. These were very friendly, kind people who were ready to do everything to make your stay comfortable. I'm very grateful to everyone: the chef, waiters, tailors, reception staff, diving center staff, bartenders - all were beautiful people, ready to help at any time! I especially want to thank the receptionist Victor. Victor was always ready to help on all issues, even willing to sacrifice his personal time to make your vacation better. Since I was alone on vacation, he offered to accompany me on my first bike ride to the village, he always came up and asked if everything was okay. Hotel managers, please reward him for his dedication to work! :) I have the best impression of the hotel, its employees and Hanimadhoo Island, I will definitely come back here again and hope to see familiar faces! p.s. for those who is going to the Maldives for the 1st time - take good care to protect your skin from the sun!

The Barefoot Eco Hotel made our stay unforgettable and so wonderful. We have already been to other islands. But this time everything was very, very good!!! Daminda Ranasinghe Reservations Executive and Diksan Wijerathna Reservations Manager did an excellent job - they helped us choose a room, explained the conditions for transfer to the island, answered all questions quickly and in detail. Thank you! Every morning at the restaurant we were greeted by Sozib with a kind smile and greeting in Russian. This is how our every day began and it was very pleasant. Sozib personally served us and was always attentive, neat and caring. Thank you! We liked the beach - such large, clean and soft sand. The delightfully clear ocean has an extraordinary color, shimmering in all shades: from dark indigo blue to transparent turquoise. And a lot of fish. Delight! Dear The Barefoot Eco Hotel team! The Barefoot Eco Hotel is an amazing place, not only to relax and escape work life but also to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere as well as nature of the Maldives. Thus, one of my main reasons to come to the hotel was to practise diving. The hotel has its own diving centre and offers different courses but also daily trips to various dive sites, depending on the weather conditions. According to one’s level, the friendly and highly supporting divemaster Luca, Charlie as well as the rest of the crew were taking us guests on breathtaking dives. Even if one doesn’t have any equipment, the centre provides everything for you. The trips have always been well-organised and within a few minutes with the Dhoni (traditional Maldivian boat), one reaches the most beautiful dives sites in the Maldives. Both, Luca and Charlie, were taking care of everything and everyone at all times, explaining the dives in detail and with full of joy. By sharing their experiences and knowledge about diving and the underwater world, I have learned a lot about all kinds of marine life and the sport itself. Under water, I was able to experience excellent reefs with an abundance of marine life. From dolphins, turtles, sharks, rays and clownfishes to lionfishes, morays and huge pufferfishes, I have experienced the beauty of the surrounding dive sites. Each dive has been absolutely amazing and a once-in-a-lifetime experience which I’ll never forget. I wish I would have stayed longer to enjoy more of it. My expectations have been exceeded and I can not wait to be back in the ocean soon. I had so much fun and really appreciate the friendliness and expertise of Charlie and Luca. Thank you so so much for the amazing time and thanks for inspiring me to continue diving! 🫶🏻 If you are looking for something extra special during your stay in the Maldives, I can highly recommend diving at The Barefoot Eco Hotel. The Hotel exceeded all my expectations! Their dedication to eco-friendly practices are truly impressive. The rooms exuded natural harmony, creating a unique atmosphere of serenity and relaxation. I must highlight their cuisine – made from fresh, natural ingredients, we are focusing on healthy eating and found a lot of options for us. I thoroughly enjoyed every treat and was impressed by the variety of vegetarian and vegan options. In summary, The Barefoot Eco Hotel is a true haven for those who appreciate nature, comfort, and wellness. I highly recommend it to anyone dreaming of a unique and environmentally conscious retreat in the Maldives!

This was our second holiday at the Barefoot Hotel and, same as the first time, it was another totally relaxing, beautiful experience. Set in lush native gardens there is a peaceful and quiet atmosphere throughout the entire place, which is a credit to the behind the scene staff. The resort Boutique and tailor are extremely accommodating and welcoming. The quality, choice and quick turnaround of shirts, trousers and other items was just amazing. After our introductory diving course last year we decided to go for the Padi Open Water Course this time. We could not have asked for a better instructor than Luca to not only make this course fun and easy to understand but share his extensive diving knowledge and passion with us at the same time. We will be back!! Last but no means least, not to mention the daily excursions with Federica, Afeef and the boat crew which were extensive, informative and great fun at the same time. In addition Federica always had time, be it early morning or late evening, to share her knowledge as marine biologist.

Beautiful and peaceful place where you can have a great rest and activities. Beach is clean and water is heavenly. Awesome boutique with professional tailors. Hospitality of staff here is on very high level. I would like to emphasize the guides from “Barefoot diving centre” whose excursions were unforgettable and full of positive emotions. In case if you are interested in how the locals live in the Maldives, specifically the local islanders, you have the opportunity to walk around the village near the hotel and even chat with the villagers. They are mostly friendly. To summarise, if you’re tired of daily routine at work and want to switch off from all that, and “charge your batteries”, this is the place. I’ll miss it.

The barefoot per chi cerca tranquillità, spiaggia baciata dal sole, acqua magnifica dalla temperatura ai colori sembra una piscina dalle grandi dimensioni. Stanza comodissima alla spiaggia, lettini a disposizione, il resort è immerso in una vegetazione molto curata, fiori piante contornano il viale dalle stanze al ristorante. Lo staff è magnifico Raffaella e collaboratori, nonché Federica, la biologa,sono disponibili e pronti a consigli e dritte per una vacanza al top. Palestra, spa , yoga, immersioni e giro in bicicletta nel tranquillo villaggio di pescatori. Cucina per tutti i gusti, dalla carne al pesce, frutta e verdura ben preparati e presentati. Grazie di tutto ci si rivedrà il prossimo inverno.

My sister and I had an incredibly great time. We took part in various snorkelling activities and saw lots of mantas, turtles, colorful fishes and more. The diving trips were the highlight for me. The diving center offers a lot for beginner and advanced divers. I felt very comfortable with Muhusin, Charlie and Luca as they were always helpful and welcoming. We had amazing and fun excursions. Everyone of the staff team was so lovely and chatty. The food was very delicious and there were evenings with special themes, such as local specialities. We also recommend to do the biketour or take a bike yourself and explore the village. A big thank you for this wonderful time

It was a very pleasant experience! Starting with the hotel itself: the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the beds - huge. The cleaning service performed its work very thoroughly. The hotel is located right on the beach, very clean and pleasant. However, what impressed us the most was the hotel service, especially the one in the restaurant and Federica and the guys who organized additional trips. They are very nice, committed, and understanding. The waiters and cooks are simply wonderful, we especially remember Sozib, who always took very good care of us, made our time pleasant with conversations, and had a high level of personal culture. The food was varied and delicious, the Maldvian evening was especially memorable. I hope we will go back one day :)
