Luoyang Hostels

Excellent hostel. I’ve visited more than 20 cities around China, and this hostel has the best leisure facilities: two large pool tables (the one on the left is really good), a big screen for movies and classic “Fred Quimby” Tom & Jerry, plus a gaming screen and handsets. They sell strong Trappist beers. Okay, the fridges with beers in should be a lot colder than they are, but at least for strong beer like Trappist beer, this doesn’t matter.  There is a 100-yuan deposit on arriving, but as promised this was repaid into the account it was paid from at midday (12:07). The woman boss has excellent local down-to-earth, great-quality food tips. They only speak a little English at the front desk, but they’re very quick and efficient at translating from Chinese to English on their phones. They have a rule I’ve never come across before after traveling very many countries: the washing machine can’t be used for underwear! But I remonstrated with them and they waived this rule. The beds have curtains for privacy. When I arrived, the room was too warm and stuffy, but they agreed to turn down the cooling system a little for the whole hostel to help.

I originally planned to go back to Beijing directly from Xi'an, but I couldn't book a ticket for the National Day and came to Luoyang on the spur of the moment. I stayed in a youth hostel for the first time and experienced my ideal youth hostel. Friends from all over the world sat together to drink and brag. For a period of several dozen yuan, the alcoholic uncle even treated us to drinks and hot pot. It felt like we were not here for business but purely to make friends from all over the world. I was originally worried that living with people I didn't know would be awkward and uncomfortable, but under my uncle's organization, it was as easy as having roommates when I was studying. When I arrived at the hotel at noon, my uncle recommended the beef soup that the locals love to drink. Since I didn’t make a guide, my uncle also planned where to go in the afternoon. When I came back exhausted in the evening, my uncle invited us to eat for his first time. I made beef offal hot pot (a little salty, but it will definitely be very fragrant next time). I wanted to have a drink, but before I knew it, I had fun with my uncle. The hostel is not very big overall, but the room is not small at all. The room has an independent bathroom. It is very exquisite and clean. The beds are large and wide. It has good reviews and good reviews.
