I love this hostel and stay there regularly. It's especially convenient for the 4th of July Fireworks on the beach or a nice getaway from L.A. The good & bad are: + easy to find & close to beach (just two blocks away); + directly across the tracks from the Amtrak train platform; + free parking; + friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff; + great shower - good pressure & hot water; + great place to relax & unwind. .... but ..... - bring earplugs for sleeping (this hostel IS near the train tracks & loud train horns); - no drinking on the premises, so you'll have to party elsewhere. Okay, I'll admit it's a bit pricey when compared to other hostels. But SB is one of the priciest, poshest places in California and even the hostel's most expensive private room is still MUCH less than you would pay at ANY nearby hotel. (NOTE: I've only stayed in the private rooms, so I can't really review the dorm rooms. Sorry.) Book in advance - the place can get crowded! Enjoy!

Outstanding
LLelejiademitangguanVery satisfied stay. Although I opened the door with a key 🔑, I found that all the facilities were exquisite and fashionable when I entered the room, especially the bath towels and floor towels were very soft and I felt that the quality was very good. There is a kitchen, oven, microwave, tableware, but I used the coffee machine, and there is coffee powder in the kitchen to make my own coffee. Walking to the beach and the train station is very close, no bicycles have been tried, but the hotel can provide.

月禅Breakfast is a typical Western breakfast, with cereal, bread, cake, coffee, simple but sufficient. The location of the hotel is superb. Go out and turn right and walk 3 minutes to the beach, and 5-6 minutes to the pier. The front desk service of the hotel is warm and thoughtful and very friendly, 24 hours a day, and I am very patient to call for consultation if something happens at night.

AAnonymous UserI checked into this hotel on Friday, so the price was 2,300, which is twice as expensive as usual. It is considered a motel in general. The decoration is American-style and parking is free. Some people have rated the breakfast very well, but I think it is very average. It only has some bread and cold boiled eggs. There is a tofu and vegetable snack. There is no bacon, sausage, or vegetables. The fruit is cantaloupe, which is quite disappointing. If around 1,000 is acceptable, then the service is considered normal.

GGuest UserI checked in after 9pm. The clerk warmly received me. When he heard that I wanted to watch the sunrise, he kindly reminded me of the sunrise time. The location is very close to the sea. The beach is 50 meters away. I strolled to the beach in the evening and morning. The room has two bathrooms, which is very convenient for friends of the opposite sex to live together.

This is at least our fifth time to the Santa Barbara area, but the first time staying at the West Beach Inn and it exceeded our expectations. The reason we did not stay at the hotel we usually reserve is that we were traveling with our older kids and needed a bigger room. We originally booked the two bedroom, but decided to upgrade to the three bedroom which was spectacular, we did not want to leave! And the staff is amazing. The breakfast offers hard boiled eggs, bagels, English muffins, granola, yogurt, etc.,. The pool & hot tub area is better in real life than the pictures show. The only tiny improvement would be to maybe have some more lounge chairs in the pool area since space isn’t the biggest but it is very upscale looking and well-maintained. The entire Inn has a great friendly vibe, every staff member was helpful & friendly. We will definitely stay here in our future trips to the area.

Very Good
Stayed at the Oasis for 1 night while passing through and I honestly wish I could have stayed an additional night. The hotel from the outside does not look like much but the rooms are very cute. I got a King room in the rooms around the pool, not the 2 story building. The room wasn't very large but was more than enough space for 2 people. No closet, just an open hanging area above a bench in the corner. A desk and chair, microwave and mini fridge were in the room for use. Little bistro type seating in front of the rooms as well as two bigger tables for 6 people under a canopy with lights on both sides of the pool. The weather was nice so we grabbed food, ate outside and played board games. It is next to a busy street but the noise level was not bad. Location is far from your typical tourist spots in SB - beach and state street but for the price, it's worth the stay and there is plenty of parking around SB where you want to go so it wasn't a big deal to not be within walking distance. Staff was friendly as well.

In a great area on state street with lots of places to walk to the downtown are is about a mile and half walk. We would have given an extra point if a few small things were fixed or changed. We had to swap our first room as TV and safe deposit weren’t working. This might mean the batteries need changing only a small thing that causes issues. Both rooms we had the front door opens and smashed into the bathroom door again easy fix and stops damage. The second room we moved into never had any towels but the young staff member was amazing and so helpful got us them within minutes. Think her name was Annie she has great people skills and very helpful. When we did find the towels in our second room they were thrown on top of wardrobe covering empty beer cans and empty vodka bottle. Again the amazing Annie came and cleared away, the issues we encountered weren’t huge but we are laid back and on holiday so wouldn’t let it ruin our stay. With an emphasis on better house keeping or maybe a more experienced manager this place good be great. Free parking was a bonus and another reason we didn’t score really low.

GGuest UserI went to Santa Barbara for Parents Weekend. This hotel was the only one I could afford, so I booked it! I'm not super picky, and its one night. If you are looking for a decent price and don't really care about much else, then stay here. I'll start with the positive. The bed was super comfortable, the room was big, had great water pressure in the shower, there was fridge & microwave, and a nice TV. It's disappointing that a few things could make all the difference! For example, fresh paint, some new towels (the bath towels were awful!!!), some new carpet. They need to do a full bathroom remodel. The bathroom was small. The toilet ”rocked” when you sat down. The calking around the room was old and dirty. There was dust all over the place, to include the screens and windows. I feel like its a cross between charming and old. I'd probably stay here again if I had to, but I'll look around and try again.

Recomendado!
