Hotel Rural Alto Gredos

What erks me most is somebody being being frugal with the truth. This is advertised as rooms having:- A sloping roof - spot on. It did not encroach on the height of the room but added character. Rooms have a view of the mountain - gross exaggeration. You have to stand on a chair to see out of the window. Furthermore, the view is mainly buildings and a few very tall trees. Hmmm, another Fawlty Towers example. Some rooms have a jacuzzi bath - we booked and asked for the jacuzzi bath - didn't answer our email request, didn't get one and the receptionist just relied on not understanding us. - how convenient! Free WiFi - didn't say where you have to be to use it ! It was useless in our room. In 10 mins of being connected, managed to get about 3 X 5 seconds. Tried a number of times in the evening and again in the morning - same result - useless. An out of the way place accessed via some narrow and windy roads. Large parking area outside and a restaurant opposite. Our room was clean and tidy, as was the ensuite cloakroom. Could feel the odd spring here and there in the mattress. The room was very spacious and had an extra room with a comfy armchair. We arrived just before 8pm with check in up to 9pm. There was nobody in reception but had to ring the Tel number shown in the window. Finding the hostal was very tricky. Our satnavs' (2) didn't have a clue to any part of the address given, nor the hotel name. The satnav got us near and claimed it was to a dirt track with a boulder preventing progress. Had to switch on our mobile phone roaming to be directed from an online source with the full address. Would be very difficult if you did not have roaming on your mob. All in all not recommended.
