Ironworks Hotel Indy

My wife and I traveled through Indianapolis and we stayed at this hotel. Olivia was working the front desk. She greeted me very nicely and she was happy to accommodate a couple requests I had. It is not the least expensive place but it is well worth the price in my opinion. I knew how much the rate was before going there. Thx to Google maps, there is no charge for hparking and the valet is also no charge. There is lots of places for all your needs. The entire staff that I had contact with was very pleasant and happy to be working there. We were there from Fri until Monday. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds are also very nice. We didn't have a reservation because we travel on the fly. Olivia gave me a little discount for walking in. We had 2 queen beds because she didn't have any kings left Enjoy your travels everyone and this place doesn't disappoint.
Courtyard Indianapolis Castleton

The hotel is fine. Clean, good location, grounds are well kept and typical Courtyard layout and amenities. I have had to continue to travel during Covid and am conscious of where I stay. Marriott is preferred brand and over 90-nights this year. My beef here is they offered no titanium benefits. No breakfast voucher/points, no welcome gift (water or snack) and no upgrades/other benefits. Its a little thing but if you travel much you know its those little goofy things that tie you to brands. The check-in clerk said it was due to Covid that they still were not offering any benefits - while not wearing a mask or other mitigation steps (not that I blamed them - just using Covid as the reason while not really being that aggressive in being cautious seems hypocritical). I normally stay at the nearby Marriott property in Castleton or the Sheraton and they both offer the benefits. Sure the Management company is still trying to recover some revenue but doing it with top-tier clients seems an odd strategy. Again - seems like a trivial thing and I won't knock the hotel in ratings because it is a fine property. Really convenient to lots of restaurants, shopping and just off 465.

The room is relatively large, but the sound of the old-fashioned air conditioner is really loud at night.

The hotel was decent. It seemed clean, free breakfast was fine, staff was friendly. We stayed there as it was a hotel on the list of “Stay to Play” hotels for a baseball tournament in Westfield, IN. Families be warned before you stay here. My son and his teammates were playing wiffle ball in the back parking lot one night while parents were in the lobby. A man wearing a ski mask walked to tree/landscaping line at the back of the parking lot and loitered there to watch the boys. They quickly came inside to alert parents. When we talked with the hotel night staff, they told us that there are “strange” people who stay at the extended stay hotel next door. It was a bit disconcerting how nonchalant they seemed about what to me, as a a parent, is a huge safety concern. I would not want to stay here with my children again, or if it was the only option, I would now be hyper vigilant about my children staying inside the hotel, especially in the evening.
